My Dad served on her during Vietnam, he saved lives when it had that accidental fire. He recently passed away. He was my Hero! His name - Orman E. Holley
Hey Chris, thanks for sharing. Sorry about your dad but we'll all get there some day. I was on the Oriskany just after the fire. I got on her when she was in Hunters Point being repaired. Was on her for the next two years. It was an eyeopening experience for a 19 yearold kid.
Was on "The O" from Hunter's Point (1968) to return to U.S. Dec 1970.) 1969 cruise on KRIS radio morning show. Published the Morning Musket 1970 cruise. PAO also ran the Hobby Shop, the rental taxies from ship to Olongapo, the "quick trip" to Thailand, the Oriskany Cinema Arts Guild (Porn movies in PAO.). Maybe our paths might have crossed. Thanks for the memories.
Thanks for sharing. I was on the Oriskany probably during the same time. I was in VA 195 squadron we had the A4 Skyhawks. I have watched a few youtube videos recently but nobody seems to have film of the A4 Skyhawk on the Oriskany
Thank you all for the comments. I got on the Oriskany when she was in Hunters Point ship yard being repaired from the flair locker fire. This was in 1968. I was assigned to the classified material control office. I didn't know many of the air wing folks. I served on her till 1970.

Served aboard USS Oriskany 1971 to 1974 with VA 155 silver foxes. During the Vietnam war operation linebacker and linebacker 2.
Hong Kong went there twice about 20 years after this.
One of the best videos I’ve seen from that time period. Thank you !

Hi John! I hope you’re well! These videos are incredible. Did you happen to know a Mike Chaplow in your time on the Oriskany? Thanks a ton!
No, sorry
Did you know Russ Keller during your time on the Oriskany? (around 1968)
Just now noticed that you'd messaged me. Sorry for not checking earlier. No the name doesn't sound familiar.
