When I was a little girl in the 50s, my grandmother would take me on a ferry boat ride across the bay to Oakland and back. I remember that the inside of those old ferry boats reminded me of the inside of the cable cars: white ceilings, white metal poles, and long oak seats. I loved being out on the water in these wonderful ferries. It was a magical time for a small girl! I still love the ferries, the S.F.Bay, and my City.
