I am a staunch Hindu girl yet I am pretty much convinced that the Quran contains the true words from the true God. I have never seen people becoming so emotional and crying by reciting any religious book other than the Quran. This is in fact the true eternal bliss which the Quran gives to its reciters. Blessed are the Muslims to have rightful claims upon the greatest ever literature on earth.

Did he not cause muslims hurt in battle, when the beloved uncle of the Prophet was killed. The Prophet (PBUH) him self was injured, many companions of the Prophet died. What happened. One day He submitted. What did the Prophet do, did he order that Khalid be killed. No. He became a legend within the companions. This is huge brothers & sisters. You never know which soul is Allah going to guide. So don't condemn anyone. It is Allah who guides, It is Allah who condemns. Our role is only to submit ourselves completely and tell our brothers and sisters of, in what lays our salvation.

i forgot allah, i became too westernized. He gave me a beautiful wife who was religious and caring. I betrayed her trust and now i lost everything. I have nothing left and no reason to live. My circumstances are dire and i know my life will end soon. I looked at religion as a joke rather than a path that would have prevented all the suffering and pain i caused. I listen to this surrah everyday and it reminds me of how praying and listening to recitations as this gave me peace. I hope allah forgives me one day.

In fact, I am nothing! I was born in Europe and was not baptised by the Christian Church, so all the churches would say I am a pagan, a heathen :) However, all my life, I have believed in God. I have believed in Jesus Christ and that he was a very special prophet. I also believe that Zarathustra, Elia, Moses and Muhammed were all prophets of God that he loves greatly. I try always to do good and believe in God and try to do as he teaches in all the religions. What I believe is that Ahura Mazda of the Zoroastrians, Yahweh of the Jews, God of the Christians and Allah of the Muslims (blessed be his name) are the same God, who through various periods in time has showed his words to the people. My question is this: If, let's say, I would live my entire life trying to do good, believe in God and his prophets, and pray. However, I would not *officially* join a religion. Not the Christian church, the Muslim mosque or the Jewish synagoge. This is because I believe that everyone should have a very personal relation to God and that he does not require us to join any *earthly* institution to be worshipped. How can you say that you believe in God but you don't know All His Names, and His real Attributes, don't know most of His real prophets and do not know His Laws that He had sent the prophets with them, Islam. brother...come to ISLAM, you will know all the real things about the Almighty God, and just by that God will be pleased of you. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to her, “You have been in the same place since I left you?” She said, “Yes.” Thereupon the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “I recited four words three times after I left you and if these were to be weighed against what you have recited since morning these would outweigh them, and these words are: سُبْحـانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْـدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْـقِه ، وَرِضـا نَفْسِـه ، وَزِنَـةَ عَـرْشِـه ، وَمِـدادَ كَلِمـاتِـه Subhaanallaahi wa bihamdihi: ‘Adada khalqihi wa ridhaa nafsihi, wa zinata ‘arshihi wa midaada kalimaatihi. Glory is to Allaah and praise is to Him, by the multitude of his creation, by His Pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the extent of His Words (Recite 3 times in Arabic)

Agreed. Like you said hurtful about "our" religion. We forget its Allah's deen/religion., We don't own it. We are the followers. Islam doesn't have a territory. Its our duty yes to tell our brothers and sisters in humanity and our brothers and sisters in faith about it. We don't own it. And of course a hundred percent or more we under no circumstance can not condemn anyone to hell :-) this is just insanity.
My brothers and sisters in Islam look at it like this. In our religion there is no hate. Why, read Quran and Allah says again and again and again. Like on every other page, that he will forgive, turn to him and he will forgive. So who are we to condemn anyone. Why because he also says, it is he who guides. So how can you condemn anyone to hell, when you don't know if Allah will guide him or her the next morning and he will be the best muslim (muslim just means one who submits) the next day.
To complete this argument, with just one example. Who was Khalid bin Walid. Wasn't he a commander of the disbelievers. Did he not cause muslims hurt in battle, when the beloved uncle of the Prophet was killed. The Prophet (PBUH) him self was injured, many companions of the Prophet died. What happened. One day He submitted. What did the Prophet do, did he order that Khalid be killed. No. He became a legend within the companions. This is huge brothers & sisters. You never know which soul is Allah going to guide. So don't condemn anyone. It is Allah who guides, It is Allah who condemns. Our role is only to submit ourselves completely and tell our brothers and sisters of, in what lays our salvation.

I've listened to this probably in excess of a thousand times over the years. Even now, I still find this recitation absolutely astonishing. Incredible.
I find myself able to recite this surah only whilst watching it otherwise I don’t know where to start without looking at the Arabic
i forgot allah, i became too westernized. He gave me a beautiful wife who was religious and caring. I betrayed her trust and now i lost everything. I have nothing left and no reason to live. My circumstances are dire and i know my life will end soon. I looked at religion as a joke rather than a path that would have prevented all the suffering and pain i caused. I listen to this surrah everyday and it reminds me of how praying and listening to recitations as this gave me peace. I hope allah forgives me one day.

You see, I am not a Muslim. I am not a Christian or a Jew either. In fact, I am nothing! I was born in Europe and was not baptised by the Christian Church, so all the churches would say I am a pagan, a heathen :)
However, all my life, I have believed in God. I have believed in Jesus Christ and that he was a very special prophet. I also believe that Zarathustra, Elia, Moses and Muhammed were all prophets of God that he loves greatly. I try always to do good and believe in God and try to do as he teaches in all the religions. What I believe is that Ahura Mazda of the Zoroastrians, Yahweh of the Jews, God of the Christians and Allah of the Muslims (blessed be his name) are the same God, who through various periods in time has showed his words to the people.
My question is this: If, let's say, I would live my entire life trying to do good, believe in God and his prophets, and pray. However, I would not *officially* join a religion. Not the Christian church, the Muslim mosque or the Jewish synagoge. This is because I believe that everyone should have a very personal relation to God and that he does not require us to join any *earthly* institution to be worshipped. My question: Does this, in the eyes of Islam, make me an unbeliever? Will Allah punish me for this you think?

How can you say that you believe in God but you don't know All His Names, and His real Attributes, don't know most of His real prophets and do not know His Laws that He had sent the prophets with them, Islam.
brother...come to ISLAM, you will know all the real things about the Almighty God, and just by that God will be pleased of you. No one from none Muslims that enter Islam want to leave it, because that HAVE KNOW how beautiful the real Religion of God, Allah, The God.
If you believe in one god and all the prophets,whatever you call yourself whatever you do, you are a muslim, and you will be in paradise. But there are layers of Muslims, who has done more good deeds is better than who did less, and who did less bad deeds better than who did more. And all of them will be judged by God. If you deserve to be punished will be punished for your actions, and vice versa.
1 - Beside those described on Quran, no one can say who goes to hell or paradise.
2 - there is allways a chance for believers to be an unbeliever in the last breath as much as unbelievers to be a believer. And who is going to accept or not accept it is god.
3 - you say that you believe in god but do you consider if your knowledge about god is enough to describe him? do you really fulfill your questions by your own? what does your god says about your aim in life? do you think your god sent you here without a guide? if it is so then isn't it not fair? god does'nt show himself physically for giving you a freewill. but god still shows you the way to him. the way to him was all those prophets and the books. god sends the new one as much as prophets creeds falls down.
4 - In Quran says '' And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. '' Az Zariyat 56.

On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Allah the Almighty said: O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it. It was related by at-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal). Its chain of authorities is sound.
God forgives all sins Sister. He is most forgiving.

Juwairiyah (radhi Allaahu anha) reported that one day the Prophet, peace be upon him, left her apartment in the morning as she was busy observing her dawn prayer in her place of worship. He came back in the forenoon and she was still sitting there. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to her, “You have been in the same place since I left you?” She said, “Yes.” Thereupon the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “I recited four words three times after I left you and if these were to be weighed against what you have recited since morning these would outweigh them, and these words are: سُبْحـانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْـدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْـقِه ، وَرِضـا نَفْسِـه ، وَزِنَـةَ عَـرْشِـه ، وَمِـدادَ كَلِمـاتِـه Subhaanallaahi wa bihamdihi: ‘Adada khalqihi wa ridhaa nafsihi, wa zinata ‘arshihi wa midaada kalimaatihi. Glory is to Allaah and praise is to Him, by the multitude of his creation, by His Pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the extent of His Words (Recite 3 times in Arabic)

this recitation is melodious and has enormous appeal that touches our heart. this is something very special that no words is enough to be expressed! for ever and a day, feel very pride of to be a muslim and simultaneously feel very miserable that i cannot perform all the commands of the almighty Allah. may, Allah, the most merciful, forgive us all for our unvarying sins and audacity!!!

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that Maimunah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"Whoever prays in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (that is good), for I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ' One prayer offered there is better than a thousand prayers offered elsewhere, except the Masjid of the Ka'bah.'"
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ مَيْمُونَةَ، زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَتْ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي مَسْجِدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " الصَّلاَةُ فِيهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلاَةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ إِلاَّ مَسْجِدَ الْكَعْبَةِ " .
