He is absolutely beautiful! I love the noise he made at the end. I really love birds, but I don't think I could handle owning one, sadly. Thank you for making videos with reliable information, it is so refreshing to watch someone who knows what they're talking about. You have a lot of fans, so try to ignore the hate! :)
Can you please make a video about ball python care? I know you made one about their environment, but I'd love to watch one that talks more about their personalities, handling, etc!

I think your videos are so real and really tell potential owners what to really expect. It is okay knowing that a pet isn't right for you but so many people take offence. Meghan you are amazing, and so many people appreciate you and what you do! Never forget you always have more love than hate here :)

Last Summer I went to Florida to visit my aunt and uncle, as I got in the backyard, the first thing I see is a beautiful white Cockatoo. I started talking to him, giving him apple slices and even pet him. Whenever I got out the house to go to the backyard, he’ll always start making noise, I think he liked me, I used to pet him every time I changed his water. By the time summer vacation ended and went back to Texas, he and I had a good bond

A great example people use when referring to adopting/buying a large parrot. Basically you committing to caring for the parrot version of a 2-5 years old human that never grows up. Be prepared for mess, loud noises and to have to constantly keep an eye on them to make sure they're not getting into trouble, but if you are prepared for all it takes to care for one or more and understand how they behave and why. Owning a large parrot is extremely rewarding and can improve both your life and the bird/s as well.

This is the PERFECT video for anyone who is even considering bringing a parrot into their home, ESPECIALLY any of the Cockatoo breeds. You are right on every point with this video, from addressing the emotional considerations (yours and the bird's) all the way to diet. Cockatoos, particularly Galahs, are prone to fatty tumors and MUST be fed a varied diet. THANK YOU for this informative and fun video. Barry is absolutely gorgeous, and he is one lucky fella to have you as his "mom". I've been blessed to have all breeds of parrots in my lifetime, and will never be without one. :)

@@mgtowdadUA-camSucksCoxks Nothing has really changed since we watched your video. It has reinforced some of the behavioral issues that you mentioned like biting. We have grown to accept it as part of owning a Galah. Over time you can anticipate what might make him bite. Most of the time I think it's because he is playing and trying to get our attention.

It would be so unfair for him to maybe have to go to a new owner in 20 years, so I am content just viewing your videos. It’s always wonderful idea for kids and people wanting birds to do research, that’s what I’ve been doing since I see all these pretty birds but you need to see how much harder they can be to take care of. I personally was going to get a Bourkes parakeet since they’re perfect for apartments but they’re also really expensive since not many of them are around in my area.

When having trouble changing the perches introduce them by adding them in. Getting them the same color (make sure you clean them properly) But this way they will get accustomed to them being there and then remove the old ones so it won’t seem like such a loss. It doesn’t always work because Parrots are very smart, but it can lessen the stress to changing their “environment”. Often times Parrots don’t like change. I have a friend who dyed her hair from red to blonde, it pissed off her bird. You have to be ready for anything with these divine creatures.

And Also about adopting birds, there are so many in rescues waiting for homes that don't have any behavioural problems at all! sometimes they go to the shelter as their owner passed away etc (common with cockatoos as they live so old) and also if someone gets a baby and then once it reaches sexual maturity realise they can't handle it anymore and it ends up in a shelter anyways... Its sad. You can bet there's a Galah in each bird rescue you come across..
