And as is so often the case, there is a lot of love in the details. The video takes place in a studio with no staff to tell them what to do, and in the first few frames you see Saiki throwing her microphone stand away with full force, which she has never used again since. Along with a solo of Kanami's that feels like she's finally free, the title 'Alone' and the fact that it was the first completely self-written song of countless attempts before that their label at the time gave the OK for a release. The rest is history, and the ladies have been writing all their songs completely on their own since then. 🤘🏻❤🔥 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. I love when at 2:35 in the middle of Kanami’s solo, the camera cuts to Miku playing her guitar with the biggest shit eating grin on her face as if to say, “We are going to write our own songs from now on po.”
Thank you for reaction 🤘🔥❤️ I think we can see in this video how relaxed they were when finally their own song was released first time. Kanami’s passion is just 🔥❤️
Still my favorite Kanami solo ever. It turned out to be a teaser--she has had all of us on the edge of our seats hoping her other solos would be as long, but she always wraps them up while we still want more. Very clever.
Akane's drumming in this is going off. Hadn't noticed it so much before, especially in the verse. Kanami has the fastest fingers. That fret board must be smoking.
About Kanami's solo, I like what Champ said about it..."even during the solo you got pop punk chords in the background but she's playing with solo like she's in a metal band". Also, it shows their incredible talent that they put these insanely complex drum patterns and an amazing bass solo into the song from the beginning.
"Thrill" is considered the song that saved the band. "Alone" on the other hand proved to the labelthat they were capableto write their own songs. ...it also gave Kanami another nick-name:Tsunami. Which seems fitting, since Kanami means "Song wave", if I'm not wrong.
5:05 I think (and I could be wrong here, but I don't think so) you'll find that that little run was all Kanami. At this stage, I don't think Miku was up to that level. I wouldn't be surprised if she plays it live now though. The Little Pigeon has come along way, po.
Being under the thumb of their label has been widely overstated. They always got to choose which songs to play and arranged them and altered them as they saw fit. Kanami had been submitting songs for awhile, but it was the other band members who rejected them, not their label. "Alone" is the first the other members wanted to play.
Kanami in the past has expressed her gratitude to the original song writers and stated she learned a lot from them. A true artist with no false pride always willing to learn
They did appreciate their writers, and being "under the thumb of their label" may be overstated, but I have never read anything over the past five years that said the other members were the ones that shot Kanami's songs down.
From JAPAN . No other member has ever rejected KANAMI. On the contrary, we continued to support KANAMI. In particular, SAIKI continued to support KANAMI. I don't know where you are getting your information from, but what you have is not true.
@@HG-kr5dc When they were deciding which songs to play, all the songs would be listed without the author known. The members would listen to the songs and decide which to play. Kanami had songs in the pool without her name. "Alone" was the first song the other members chose to play.
@@ericifune5543 I have never heard of such a story in Japan, and above all, KANAMI herself said during an interview that it was the first song to be approved by the management and that he cherishes it the most. This is a fact that all fans in Japan are aware of. Also, a song will never be on the selection table unless the management approves it.
Yes, had 'Thrill' not gone viral they were going to fire the musicians, and turn the singers into DANCE-MAID. Miku & Saiki cried, "We did not come to Tokyo for this!". But Miku had leveraged her Idol Contest win for a record contract, and a contract is a contract. Fortunately it did go viral after being posted on a J-Rock Facebook page. But they didn't write it. And song after song of Kanami's was rejected. But Saiki kept on encouraging her to keep writing. And she did until this song was accepted, until today it's rare for a song not to be a real BAND-MAID song.
Once they were left "Alone" by their record / management companies to create what they wanted, well... look what they did. Alone's somewhat sad, heavy yet empowering story (topics Miku's known for writing about), up against Kanami's up-tempo, complex yet rockin' music is quintessential Band-Maid. BAND-MAID is an important influence and contributor to the music industry with a continuous, growing worldwide fanbase. But to me, they are just the best sounding, best writers of hard rock music, and the most fun, joyous group of musicians playing today! Thx, Shredder!
Well let me tell you about a story about a group named *BAND-MAID* A group of lovely girls who played rock music that thought was dead And then one day *BAND-MAID* went to the record producers And the next thing you know they started writing on their own *Alone* that is the first song they wrote on their own Well the next thing you know *BAND-MAID* is now and free To write their own music as they shouted out with glee They said *Domination* is where you oughta be And they pack up their gear to make history... 🤠 🐎 🐦 🎀
You have not reacted to Asterism yet, it is another really good Japanese band, very skilled guitarist and bassist and drummer. For a long time they were an instrumental band, but they have started adding vocals, this song is an instrumental, ASTERISM - Church (Live in Studio) ua-cam.com/video/pkiKSBX8JPA/v-deo.html
"very skilled guitarist" doesn't cover it in my book. I'm still trying to decide if Hal-ca is the best metal guitarist there's ever been. If she's not now at 21, give her another year... Randy Rhoades reincarnated... only better this time around. In a 4'8" package. Shredder is going to have a stroke when he hears her play ;)

Easily my favorite solo from her! She killed it!
One of my favorite songs from BAND-MAID and it's their real first! Kanami....
Thanks for the shout out! A great song and one of,(some still say the best), Kanami solo, shredding very well!

You are the only one who noticed that lovely duo of Saiki and Miku. Love it. One of highlights to me.

To-no: Faraway Fields
Ka-nami: song wave
Her name really describes her.

3 2 1 go.
Miku's octave-ing the vocals too -- love that sound.

Try Unfair Game by Band-Maid. Kanami has a very good solo also in that song
Kanami with her Japanese signature guitar Addictone
