The use of aluminum is ok here but a few things to consider is wear and tear on soft aluminum. I would suggest a steel tube insert on the trigger and nut (lock) holes and a steel or brass sheet insert on the insides of the frame within the trigger grouping and area. Also the nut/ lock around the area of the string release must be super smooth to prevent string damage..Lots of bow string wax must be used as well. Perhaps some spring tension behind trigger as well is needed!

Im using this trigger design with a powerful aluminum prod my uncle found, its about 150lb or more id say,finding it very hard to pull the trigger! its not finished yet and only realised this design is only suitable for a smaller prod after id used all my aluminum from an old pot!
However with some adjustments, such as almost halving the trigger and nut contact and keeping it well oiled its working out ok. I allowed for a longer trigger also so i can use 2 finger to pull it.

I just love people that have crappy and dirty tools that make cool stuff !!!! I got super expensive and spotless tools and I don't make shit !!! And yes , I have a excuse now cuz it's 110* in my garage now , but when it's cool I still can't seem to make stuff either. ;(

How hard is the trigger to pull with that mechanism? Looks like the more draw weight ya put on it the harder it would get...

Your a real smart dude and I plan to copy your trigger. But push that file lift it then push again its not a nail file . It will stay sharp longer.
