  • After a 7-minute halt, we departed towards Bilaspur. A friendly chat with an RPF chap ended at the station limits and I shifted to the opposite door. Almost immediately, I was greeted by a MEMU. Later on, we crossed a WAG5-WAM4 combo.

Very nice video! But your friend at the door wasn't in a very chatty mood! Plus, he was quite obdurate at the door! By the way, I am not a 100 percent sure if he is an RPF fellow, could be a CISF. RPF is not as well armed! He seemed to be having a bullet-proof vest on. They generally make themselves visible around stations to inform people that there is heavy security aboard the train! :)

@dhawal4987 Thanks, Dhawal! The one thing that pleasantly surprised me in this train was the politeness of every RPF person - the way it should be.

@dhawal4987 I have relatives in Adityapur near Tatanagar. From their house, I could actually see the Tata-Gamharia line. Once I spotted the red-yellow Neelanchal Exp. going on it.
My first trip on the Gitanjali was from Bombay to Tata (back in 1980). I also made quite a few trips between Howrah and Tata on Steel/Ispat Exps. Those days they used to have an elegant blue-grey-yellow-stripes livery. Couple more trips were in the Tata-Asansol section.
My father grew up in Jamshedpur.

@ng111gala It is very true that IR used to boast of terrific liveries back in the 70s and 80s. You can check some of my 'liveried' videos by searching on 'karnavati vb642', 'MG rakes at Chetput', 'MG Suryanagri', 'Indrayani Exp. Pune vb642', MAQ-MAO Pass', 'double-headed Karnataka Exp'.
