- There is far to much fabric her to share each one and where I got it from, as I take you through the vlog most of it is explained to you.
The storage boxes come from B&M
The main places I shop for my fabrics are:
Rainbow fabrics
Beyond the pink door
Jenny stitches fabrics
Minerva
I know this was a long one guys but at your request, keep an eye out in my Friday sews for the votes on what fabrics you would like to see me sew up next, a poll will be put on my community page this week.

Oh Bec, you made me giggle. In my part of the world, outhouse is another word for 'toilet' (harking from the days when toilets were outside in the yard). I am telling you this only as I think you will see the amusing side, not for any kind of insult. You have some beautiful fabrics! So nice to see what others are drawn to and their methods of storage.
I thought I had said shed as well, my mum is Australian and that’s what she refers an out house too, I can see how you chuckled at that x
Lovely romp through beautiful fabrics, brightened my day, pure eye candy. Thanks for sharing!
I am glad you enjoyed it x
That indigo dress lovely ❤❤ in fact all of it is xx
That velvet is beautiful x
A little camisole top with the metre shoestring straps x
Wow that is quite the stash you’ve got. But you seem to love most of it so that’s good. Mine is smaller because I don’t have space for anymore fabric 😂
I’m not sure I have the space for it 😂😂😂
But most of it I absolutely love and there are a lot of fabrics in there for spring and summer 😊
Thank you for watching x
I'm overwhelmed!! LOL! lovely fabrics!
Ah sorting through this to share really helped to be fair x
You have many gorgeous pieces in your fabric collection. 😊
Thank you x
Throughly enjoyed every minute of this , it was a delight and I can’t wait to see the pattern stash , I might watch this again , beautiful fabrics , look forward to seeing what they all become xx thank you for taking the time to show us x
Thank you for sticking it out, this is the longest vlog I have done 😊 x
@@whatbecsews it was great xx
Lol, my stash is 7 pieces of fabric. But I've only been sewing since 2020 and my sewing budget is $20 a month so I really haven't had the opportunity to amass a large collection. I made it to the end, you kept me company while I made lasagne for dinner.
Lasagne is one of my favourite dinners 😊 I’m glad I could keep you company whilst making that, I have been sewing on and off for 10 years 😂 but I must admit most of it I have accumulated in the past couple of years, but there are a few pieces in there that are quite old 😳 x
That is *exactly* how I felt about that Swiss dot bird fabric - liked elements about it but once I had it I just couldn't think of what to do with it 🤔 hence it ended up on my destash! Maybe a summer dress for a little girl or something would be cute
I know it’s lovely, I wish I knew a little girl to make one for, but mine are of an age where they are too cool for that now 😂
I am not destashing yet, keeping my mind open on it 😊 x
What about the Heather dress in that red knit fabric x
Hi Bec - I watched your video. Don't worry, you are not alone. I have loads of fabric and am trying not to buy this year (she says having ordered fabric twice this week). Anyway, I love your comments on what you have and what you want to do with it. We moved house last year and from May to October I couldn't do any sewing because everything was in storage and we were in temp accommodation for 3 months. When we started moving out of storage I realised how much fabric I had. I need to make up for lost time. Love watching your channel!
3 months wow… not sure I could cope 😊 you definitely need to make up for lost time!
Thank you for watching, this was a long one 😊 but glad you enjoyed.
P.s I have already ordered fabrics which will feature in my Friday sews this week 😂😂
Loved this! - cotton poplin what about a summer wrap skirt? Some of your other viscose fabrics - what about the raj dress? That’s quick to make and looks great. I’ve got four of them, and will make more.
I do have the Raj dress in mind for a few I think, I have two already and do love them 😊
A wrap skirt is definitely something to consider.
I’m glad you liked it, thank you for watching x
I watched through the video!! It was so much fun hearing about all your awesome fabrics and sprinkled with your plans or aspirations on how to use them! I hope you get to as many of them as you can this year!
Thank you, and you managed to make it all the way through 😂
This weeks Friday sews (spoiler alert) I am giving my viewers a choice between two fabrics from my stash for me to make up next…. I think I am going to try and do this once a month, just to give me a little push to make sure I get through them 😊 x
Just watching this … 6 months later but I’m watching. And as I sew I giggle at your comments of saving Fabrics cause you want to wear it for a long time. I hear you. 😂. I need to go thru your links cause I keep missing the pics you put up saying what you’re using. It’s amazing seeing the different fabrics you have there verses here! My partner wants to take me to Asia for me to pick some fabrics… my own enabler 😳. I’ll keep catching up with your Vlogs 😉
Wow! what a stash. I would make a Lyra out of the cobra corsage fabric. I think Gemma who sews for Haley jane made one its gorgeous . Also have you Tilly's make it simple book? love the drawstring Tabitha T shirt dress you have choice of short or long sleeves. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching, the Lyra is what I have decided on x
I want to see it all , I have found it fascinating, and I’m just starting out ❤❤
Glad your enjoying 😊 x
Great stash. I have to say I have that much I don't even know what I've got now. I'm ashamed. I am currently storing it in 20 kallax boxes which are rammed into their spaces and now I have started to pile it up on a stool in my sewing room 😂
Sort through it you may find it quite Cathartic, when I sorted my stash I must admit I felt the going through it to share on her inspired me and I forgot I had some of those pieces x
@@whatbecsews I will have to do something. Well maybe after my new fabrics arrive 🤣
Sounds like a plan 😂
@@whatbecsews by the way......I can't find that seller in ebay you mentioned. Was it. Crystal 9?

What an amazing variety of material,so many possibilities. I loved the material towards the end, with the palm trees, parrots and butterfly’s. Could see that in a duster jacket,or kimono. Your going to have some sewing fun🌼🌼🌼🥰
I am looking forward to the better weather I must admit, the have some lovely fabrics to work with x
It was great looking through your fabric stash with you. The red one with flowers looks like a Japanese cotton. They are beautiful. Yours looks like a seven berry one. If you don’t want to use it for clothes they are great for bag making.
There’s an idea, although someone suggested a Christmas table cloth as well which I thought was a good idea x
Hahaha goodness quite epic! However as you made 74 items last year (still amazed!) I reckon you will put it all to good use. In fact, if you resisted buying anything this year and made say 100 items this year by 2024 you'd NEED to do a huge fabric shop! One thing jumped out at me, that lovely red and gold cotton weight batik style fabric (approx 20 mins in) would make a great table runner or place mats for Christmas! Thanks for sharing, really great to watch.
What a fabulous idea for that cotton fabric! Thank you sooo much, I did a no clothes buy last year, this is how I have accumulated such a large stash 😂 but I think I will certainly get through it this year, I am resisting buying more fabric… I know we are only the second week into January 😂
@@whatbecsews haha I'm on a self imposed fabric purchase ban this year, hoping by the end of the year I have more money and more space!
I think my stash is bigger, but I live where it is difficult to go to a shop to buy so most done online. If I bought a fabric for a specific project the cost of postage would really hike up the price so I buy in bulk. I sew for all my family so I have fabric for them too do they count? 😜 I really enjoyed watching and I was doing the unpicking for a bunch of alterations and mending projects so kept me company thank you for sharing. I really am looking forward to seeing your up cycling/ refashioning & scrap busting as I have those in my stash too and need ideas/ inspiration. ❤
Hopefully I can help with those too 😊
Glad I kept you company.
Stash for family definitely doesn’t count 😂
Thanks for your time, accompanying me whilst I tackled the housework. My favourite fabric was the floral near the end - you mentioned a Hope dress which I think will be a perfect match and look lovely on u x
I’m glad I could keep you company during your housework, that was my job this morning and not a fun one 😂
I do like that fabric too x
wow so epic !! 🔥🔥
I’m glad you like 😊
Love it wow Thank You for sharing. Collecting fabric is a big part of our hobby. 🙌❤️💙💜
What an incredible stash😍! You have loads of gorgeous fabrics. I like the way you’ve organised them by season, I have mine loosely organised by type - knits/wovens - I think your way is probably more useful. My garment fabric stash is very much the same size - but with a lot more craft type fabric, as I had a break from garment sewing about 10 years ago when I spent a couple of years feeling more inspired by textile arts such as quilting and free motion sewing (which I still do occasionally, when I’m feeling inclined). I was heartened to see that I’m not the only person who has a huge bag of items for repurposing/refashioning (which I’ve yet to touch - as I keep getting distracted by new things .... aaaargh!)
I love your mandala fabric - I could see that made up in a gorgeous summer robe to show off the print to full effect? I also saw some potential fabrics which would make beautiful summer Tempo Sundresses www.lovenotions.com/product/tempo-sundress which are so easy wear and there are so many possible variations on that pattern. Thinking particularly of that patterned pink and black fabric with black printed border. With a little bit of a summer tan, it would look gorgeous.
P.s. really loved the woven raglan T-shirt’s you showed us, great little staples, as you said. I think I need some of those in my life 😊. Happy sewing 🧵😊🧵
Thank you, I have been looking at the Tempo sundress recently, there are a couple of love notions patterns I am interested in if I am honest.
I haven’t tried quilting although I am amazed at what people can do with it, absolutely fascinates me.
Re purposing is important I think to try to be as sustainable as possible, a lot in there are garments I have made and are far to big, I don’t want that to end up In landfill.
The robe is also a great idea, although, there is part of me that really wants to show that fabric off…
Thank you so much for watching x
It’s always so much fun having a nose around other peoples’s stashes, especially as our taste is very similar and I have some of the same fabric 😁 Just wondering where you destash because I love the goldy orangey looking rib knit that you said isn’t your colour, not that I need any more fabric of course but it doesn’t stop me wanting it and I know we can all relate 😂
I have fabric in my stash that I got from a trip to visit family in the U.S 33 years ago and it’s still pristine, I used to make my kids clothes back then and it’s a lovely trip down memory lane when I look at it.
Hey, I enjoyed other stash vlogs too, they are so much fun, and it’s nice to know your not the only one with a huge stash 😂
The rib knit one I did a fabric swap with another lovely lady that had seen it too 😂
When I am better I will sort through my stash and upload onto my destash account x
Great vlog! Got myself comfy with a coffee and watched it on the tv instead of my phone. My stash is tiny compared to yours. I have 4 cube boxes of fabric, 2 underbed boxes of scraps and another one with fabric for 2 jackets I’m planning to make. Our house is really small too so I don’t have any more space to store fabric, which is probably a good thing. I love the paisley fabric, it’s gorgeous. I really need to be more adventurous in my fabric choices.
Thank you, the Paisley is one I want to make something up soon with.
As I said most of that is stored in my shed and rotated seasonally, but sometimes with how big it is, it can be overwhelming 😊 thank you for watching x
Really enjoyed watching your video and I am so glad I am not the only one with a lot of fabrics 🙈🙈🙈 some lovely fabrics you have in there 😍🤩 and I also feel overwhelmed sometimes with what I could sew with mine especially the really nice ones as so scared to ruin them 😑😑😑! I love sewing clothes in african wax or african wax like fabric personally but fully get that it might not be your style or what you like to sew with 🙃. Thanks again for a lovely podcast ! 🥰🥰
Thank you, I do love African wax fabrics, they are so bright and beautiful, just not that Particular one in my stash, but I had a fab suggestion for Christmas next year for that.
I think a lot of us sewist have big stashes because that in itself is as much a hobby 😊.
Thanks for watching x
@@whatbecsews I completely forgot to ask where to find your destash account please? Thank youu🥰
I stayed until the end! You kept me company whilst I logged some of my fabrics on Stash Hub. I have a feeling my stash might be bigger, it is in every nook and cranny around the house! I am aiming to reduce it this year but it is so difficult when you just don't have the sewing time! I love the fabrics with the magnolia flowers on. I would be tempted to make a cami with the 1m remnant something like the SOI silk cami maybe
Haha well done for staying, it was definitely a lengthy one 😊
That’s quite a good idea, I have a cami pattern somewhere.
Sewing time can be difficult sometimes, I hope you manage to reduce it, although I must admit it’s nice to hear your stash is bigger 😊 😂 xx
@@whatbecsews I am aiming to get one more box done today then next week I might tackle the suitcase that is full of fabric! I would like to think other people have a larger stash than me! I need to destash but I love it all! 🤣
Make lounge wear for sister ❤
I’m still watching and loving it! The sari fabric has that cotton piece as it’s to protect the hem of the sari. I’m making a Meridian dress out of a vintage silk one ❤
Thank you so much for telling me that makes sense, ooo that sounds really good 😊 hope you enjoy the rest of the vlog x
I made the free pouffe and got rid of loads of scraps and it has a zip on the bottom so you can still get in it .i thought I had a lot of fabric but nothing like yours
The closet core pouffe is one of the things I would like to make, but I also have so many other ideas for the scraps.
Thank you for watching 😊
Well done for getting through all that. It was good to see that I’m not the only one to include scraps and old clothing in my stash! You kept me company during my Guiding planning for the new term. Have you seen the Itch to Stitch Sequoia Cargo trousers pattern? They are on my list as I want some cargo trousers too
I haven’t but I will take a look 😊
I think they are part of your stash, we keep them to plan to sew with them lol, glad I could keep you company 😊 x
I recently bought that ochre twig viscose twill by Atelier Brunette and I plan on making the Ester blouse by Wardrobe by me! Maybe the Ester blouse would be a good match for some of your viscoses! I love your stash- a lot of options to choose from!
Lovely idea, thank you x
Hi I love your video, it’s a good idea on how to storage your video am just wondering how you are recording your video.
I started recording on my camera lol it died very quickly so moved back to my phone which is how I normally record x
Have you got enough of that canvas type fabric to make a little bomber type jacket do you think xx
What a great idea x
That fabric would make a beautiful waistcoat on the lines of a fitted one with velvet trousers and a blouse with frills , heels hair up make up on and let your partner take you to a fancy restaurant, then hair down and on to a disco ,,,,how’s that xx
Just finished 😂 dare I ask have you counted how many pieces of fabric you have? Loved it x
Haha no, I might scare myself if I do that 🤣 x
@@whatbecsews I counted mine before Xmas and I had over 100 pieces 😱😱😱 I’m going to try and destash some x
Etta dress ???
