- This is for sure the oldest vehicle that’s been here at Fat Fender Garage, a 1926 Dodge Brothers touring. An old buddy of ours' wife asked us to surprise him with starting up his old car that hasn't ran in about 62 years. Believe it or not, this old Dodge was his first car when he was just 16 years old. We've been working on getting this thing to start for months now, and it was harder than it may seem. It was a pain to work on but definitely worth it, his and his family's reactions were priceless. For everyone asking, Rick unfortunately passed away recently. Him and his family will always remember the joy he felt driving his first car for the last time, surrounded by family and friends. Ummm dont your 91 chevy have a computer?
Bart Simpson you’re right, but I think this isn’t a carbureted vs fuel injected claim... ...I think the belief is that there is a lot less technology in a 91 Chevy vs a brand new one. New cars also seem to have a lot less soul. I don’t really get the same feeling out of modern cars than 20th century models. Even with all the sensors and computers the 90s vehicles have, they’re still much easier to work on and will outlive modern vehicles on that reason alone.

Are you going to pay for it? My driving instructor recently got a VW Golf petrol, a brand new one. Had a 2017 Ford Fiesta ST before that. Something I learn from senior citizens is when you love something you keep it and if it breaks you fix it. That's pure love 💞
Nowadays from possessions to love life , when it breaks people throw them away.
Hope we all learn from them 🙏
"It's just Old Man Jenkins in his Jalopy"
i thought i was the only one thinking about old man Jenkins horn
🤣🤣🤣
"Howdy Ms. K"
No matter what happens, sometimes memories are the only thing you have left.
It's so touching to see this car in the hands of the same owner since he was 16.
Hi Kenny how are you doing😊
God bless the mechanics and family for this beautiful moment in this wise mans life.
That is beautiful. Every true car lover/enthusiast knows what its like to have 1 specific dream/car that they have always had. Some are fortunate enough to make there dreams happen & some never really get that chance but when that chance does come. It's truly an amazing feeling.
Imagine everyone being so fragile with him in the car and all of a sudden the old man floors ol’ reliable and starts busting wheelies
Donuts
illegal Lemur 😂 i wish
That’d be hilarious 😂😂😂
HAHAHAHAHA
starts doing donuts on the lawn red lining it
I wish I could be with my grandpa during his last moments. This brought tears to my eyes. I couldn't fulfill his wish. Hello to grandpa in heaven. I'm sorry I never said I loved u but u r still my best friend
He knew
I feel the same way about my grandmother right now who is in a nursing home. 90 years old. It breaks my heart to see it.
I was blessed with having my grad dad as my best friend until the day he passed away, we built a flat bottom boat together, we started a mushroom and nightcrawler business that made more per week then my father did at his full time job that everyone said would never work.
Love your grandpa's...
“What’s wrong with her now?”
Is that a lost Santos customs quote?
boygoerge yes
If you got any problems you bring it back to me
Mechanic 2013

What miracle did you want me to perform?
This clip randomly showed up on my feed and I'm so glad it did. The stories Rick must've had. Truely amazing. Lovely he has such loving family and friends. RIP Rick
“He’s getting pretty aged out”. Damn, sounds harsh lol.
He's getting pretty aged out, better send him out to pasture.
Alexander Oh, sorry. I thought “lol” at the end of the sentence was a good indicator of the “lighten up”ness of it for most people. *pat pat*
And there's this 96 yrs. old man in the Philippines still doing politics. Stealing money out of people.
It is the truth wherever u like it or not
nasto19nj it said that right when I read ur comment
The number of memories that must’ve flooded back into his head!
Itz_gray_ 2020

This is amazing! I’ve never heard of anyone keeping a vehicle for this long. Priceless!
A well maintained one can worth 50k
I seriously hope that the body work and paint are online for the not too distant future. What a treasure!
Dodge needs to come a restore this car
I lost my dad Dec of 2017. This reminded me of him. Thanks for the tears, and happy memories.
Im very sorry for you, stay strong.
I’m truly grateful for what these guys did for my grandpa! It was truly a blessing to be there and witness the joy it brought to my family!
I'm so glad you all did this for this guy! It made me cry a little. This is one of my favorite cars. God bless each of you!

Just pure love for each other
I love you guys. This made me tear up a little bit hehe :D
Aww, what a cute comment section! ❤
Man that brought tears to my eyes That was just assume. I love to a see a full restore on that old car. Is there any plans for that.? Thanks for sharing.
Tell me about it brother! I was like, omg hold it together man... lump in throat is obvious now!
It's sad what I'm gonna say now, but the old man probably wouldn't live up to it. Restorations take time, and i wish the man and the car all the best, but a full restoration just cannot take place, let the feller have his time with it in either condition. I'm sure he doesn't mind.
@@jurek.425 I also kinda like it just the way it is.
That was a great thing to do for him that meant millions of memories 👍
Amazing job and you all made one man and his whole family beyond proud and happy. Thanks for sharing this video!
