My hubby said that the Caura Hospital was previously called " The Caura Sanitorium" and was specifically designed for Tuberculosis patients. TB doesn't like low air pressure that's why it was built on an elevation surrounding fresh air. The patients were very isolated due to the disease being airborne and contagious. When he did one of his rotations in there around 1993/1994, there were hardly TB patients left and they mostly treated pulmonary diseases such as fibrosis, lung cancer, and so on.

The stories back in the days Ms Vidia told 💯 my parents, grandparents and my great grandma told me are exactly the same and jeez did I love listening to how different things were to now🥰. The tamarind sauce the vendors use to sell long ago they use to call it " Labanny"😂. And they really use to get a big pot spoonful for 1 cent! And a 3 sweet biscuits 1cent, what we see name " Paradise Plum" by Diana sweets.....that's the coloured sweets...it's small now like a power mint lol but long ago it was big and 1 cent as I was told. So many things our parents, grandparents and if lucky andvwe have great grandparents I promise u we will enjoy listening to stories of long ago! Thank u for sharing. Love u💙❤️
