In some ways it would be good in others not so good. It’s funny Trudeau protects Quebec in any way he can. And really they are no better than the rest of Canada. He doing a good job of pushing this country into the slim. Why should we be paying Quebec money to stay . There other provinces that need the help. This subject keeps coming up every few years. I think it’s a good Idea to join the states may be the chair setters will get up and grab some brains. Inside of sitting on their hands and just complaining. Trudeau should have been voted out months ago. He taking our rights away to say what’s on our minds he’s taken away our rights to protect our homes and family’s and he hates the west. It’s probably a good idea to leave for the states at least there your home is your castle. But we need to keep our health system and a few other things if we decide to go.
As a American if the people of certain Canadian providences wish to join the US, we'd be happy to have you. All of Canada as a 51st state would give liberals a lock on any laws, but if each Canadian providences voted in favor of statehood and joining the US, it would be a equal coverage between conservative and liberal. But in the end it's up to the people.
As an American, if Alberta seceded from Canada and became the 51st state, I think that would be awesome. Right now, Canada, is a dumpster fire. Whether this scenario pans out or not, I do want Canada to succeed. Best of luck you guys
Squeezing all the eggs from the golden goose until they kill it (the golden goose is an old parable for the younger readers, great analogy) that is the liberal way. Personaly, I would love to have Alberta as another US state, as long as we can maintain a conservative country.
What kind of patriot hands over their country to foreign one? You unpatriotic clowns can migrate to the USA while the true patriots stay back and fight for our country. Pussy.
As a proud Albertan , if we don't get a government change as in getting rid of the liberals and the ndp , we need a new PM and his name is Pierre Poilievre , if the liberals steal the upcoming election , I would love to see Alberta become the 51st state ( Alberta USA) and Danielle Smith can become the Governor of Alberta .
@@BackCountryWrenching It would be a non-issue because states have unlimited taxing powers as well as unlimited policing powers. We already have states proving you can implement similar systems such as Massachusetts. Is it really as desirable as you think it is when you're not forced to do it? That's another question you might find out when you're not forced into the system.
Canada would dissolve beginning with Quebec if Alberta joined the U.S. given the amount of funding for the poorer provinces that comes from Albertan energy.
So when is Alberta going to get the balls to be 51st state. Every American that I know says 2 thumbs up 👍. Alberta is kin to America 🇺🇸 even rest of Canada is. First, they will be a territory for understanding the constitution. Then, final decision for statehood.
As if Alberta secession is even possible when the treaties that settled its land criss cross over existing provincial borders. Like Parizeau found out, no way those First Nations would vote in favour.l, and without their vote, Alberta would lose chunks of its existing territory.
I am not opposed at all with us Albertans becoming Independant, FJT and F Lieberals. Becoming an American State would be awesome! Think of the low taxes, high value dollar, and the best sovereign State document on this earth, the American Constitution! ...Where do I sign?...
My question is how would they go about natural using Canadians residents into American ones? I wouldn’t mind it if Alberta stood up for itself and did what it wanted (as a former Alberta resident for a decade back in the earlier 2000’s), but how do they decide who gets dual citizenships - is it only current residents? Or will I still be able to travel there (in Alberta) to see friends and family without needing a passport? It just raises a lot of questions… it’d be interesting to see, and interesting times for sure. Good luck to the AB Premier on her trip to D.C.
I agree that we're done with listening to The East. Ideally the Western Provinces and territories would separate 'en bloc,' if we can't get that, Alberta will have to go it alone. Another possibility would be for AB, BC and YT to join forces, NOT including Vancouver and surroundings.
It is far more likely, North western and North Eastern America will join Canada, then the Prairies join America. American offers Canada very little in comparison to what Canada offers the States. 1] Universal Health |Care 2] Gun Control no school shootings] 3] A decent minimum wage 4] Decent Social Security [ a pension the keeps you above the poverty line] 5] Decent Disability Pension [ determined by your doctor not be bureaucratic rules] 6] Well trained and educated Police Force 7] A great and affordable education system 8] No abortion ban 9] Decent unemployment insurance 10] Civilized Political system that discourages fanatical partisanship 11] A beautiful and diverse country 12] Admission that Global warming must be dealt with and doing something about it. 13] A multi cultural society that celebrates diversity and does not attempt to crush it. 14] the 2nd happiest country in the world. 15] dental care for seniors America offers 1]lower taxes 2] guns and gun violence 3] private health care [with the worst health outcomes among industrialized nations] 4] poverty level social security 5] poverty level disability pension 6] poverty level minimum wage 7] Global warming denial 8] partisan and very often corrupt politicians 9] Racism 10] Abortion Bans 11] Extremely expensive education I could go on but why bother. Burying you kids to get lower taxes is something only billionaires think is a good deal. It is little wonder Americans wish to leave the states and the country is the 15th happiest in the civilized world.
One thing I find interesting: The usual reason people give for staying in Canada instead of joining the US is health care, NOT love of country ( although there are a few patriotic Canadians). This is a clue Canada is dying. I suspect that the US would offer Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon and BC statehood but BC would reject.
You might be surprised. Most of those who would reject statehood, or separation, live in Vancouver or Victoria. Unless things have changed dramatically since I lived there, the people of Northern BC have no more use for Ontario or Quebec than we do, here in Alberta.

Looks like you're preaching to the "converted". Have the "converted" ever lived outside of Alberta or in the U.S? Having lived and worked in the U.S. and overseas, being part of Canada is not that bad. Regurgitating the National Energy Plan is so far in the past. How old was Danielle Smith back then?
Bring it n can’t wait, best thing that could possibly happen. Owner of property in the U S.
I’ll move out of Ontario to Alberta if it happens!!!! 100%
As an Albertian, I would welcome it and have BC, Sask and Manitoba join us for 54 states :D
THE BUFFALO TERRITORY NOT A STATE
My ancestors moved up to Alberta and Saskatchewan from America. Might as well return l.
I'm from Ontario, if Alberta joins America I'm going to Alberta to get my U.S. citizenship. Then I'm moving to Florida permanently.
NOT A STATE BUT WOULD LOVE THE BUFFALO TERRITORY & HAVE THE REAL CONSTITUTION WITH 1ST &2ND AMENDMENTS
I'm a Jeep Creep myself, i love jeeping the Ozark mountains and Louisiana Swamps! And i live in Mid Michigan not far from Canada about half tank of gas away, whats my thoughts on this whole thing? Welcome Home Brother👍🙏
Agree
Most of sask feels the same .. if they want all of Canada it will be like another California
Born and raised in Sask left in the 90’s was hard times back then. Calgary was booming and everybody was moving there.
I have dual citizenship, Canadian and American. I would love to see several provinces join the United States of America, maybe all of them.
Let’s the Canadian people speak and vote 🗳️ of what you want to do with Alberta.
Don’t let other countries influence in your decisions!
🤜🤝🤛
Canada should not vote for Alberta. I didn’t get a vote in the Quebec referendum.
We would be the 2nd largest state with the largest oil reserves.
Squeezing all the eggs from the golden goose until they kill it (the golden goose is an old parable for the younger readers, great analogy) that is the liberal way. Personaly, I would love to have Alberta as another US state, as long as we can maintain a conservative country.
Alberta would secure conservative wins in the house and senate for decades to come. MAGA!
What kind of patriot hands over their country to foreign one? You unpatriotic clowns can migrate to the USA while the true patriots stay back and fight for our country. Pussy.
Welcome to Merica Jerry!
Become part of the United States. 🇺🇸
I'm from Alberta let's join the USA and become the 51 state. Let's leave the rest of Canada and join the USA with one currency and no boarders
...be careful what you wish for...
We would need to ensure fully funded healthcare for all current Alberta citizens.
Healthcare would be a deal breaker for sure
@@BackCountryWrenching
It would be a non-issue because states have unlimited taxing powers as well as unlimited policing powers.
We already have states proving you can implement similar systems such as Massachusetts.
Is it really as desirable as you think it is when you're not forced to do it?
That's another question you might find out when you're not forced into the system.
The U.S. is high because of pharmaceutical companies charging more for the same products other countries pay little for .
@@BackCountryWrenchingyou have no understanding of healthcare in the US…you need to stop listening to your commie news
@@jerrypeal653we in the USA subsidize everyone else including NATO collective defense!
Remove the Canadian boarder and make it one currency and no boarders. Get everyone working again. Alberta can become the 51 state. Let's get it done
Born and raised in Alberta I am all for Alberta joining the US
That sounds great unless you ever get sick or something
Good for Alberta🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
The Republic of Alberta with its own constitution written by the people for the people. Nothing more and nothing less.
Im in Texas . land of the free . Gas 2.59 a gallon ,
Is this whole site one giant whinefest?????????
We won't even see a referendum.
So,
we're still getting tariffs, so I guess D Smith didn't accomplish anything.........
Canada would dissolve beginning with Quebec if Alberta joined the U.S. given the amount of funding for the poorer provinces that comes from Albertan energy.
I am from saskatchewan and I can tell you that I never ever want to be a part of the USA. EVER! Pierre all the way
🇨🇦🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👊🏼
Welcome my Canadian brothers and sisters 🎉🎉🎉.
If you want to be in the usa move, live there for a couple of years then apply to come back you will be screened
Alberta 51!
So when is Alberta going to get the balls to be 51st state. Every American that I know says 2 thumbs up 👍. Alberta is kin to America 🇺🇸 even rest of Canada is. First, they will be a territory for understanding the constitution. Then, final decision for statehood.
I like hearing from a real man rather than the news. Cheers and thank you. Be cool to be able to travel between without borders.
Daniel Smith should change parties, she’s much more suited the the Bloc .
Tearing up Canada? Cmon
I’m an Albertan there is no Canada in my eyes
I’d like to see all of Canada become a part of the Free world prepared t fight for those freedoms.
I was planning on moving to the States anyway. If America moves up here, it's a win win for me. Alberta 51.
America isn't going to invade Canada lol
If Alberta joins the US British Columbia and Saskatchewan would follow maybe Manitoba too.
I agree that we're done with listening to The East. Ideally the Western Provinces and territories would separate 'en bloc,' if we can't get that, Alberta will have to go it alone. Another possibility would be for AB, BC and YT to join forces, NOT including Vancouver and surroundings.
If it does I’ll be moving back to my home province - ALBERTA!
Jer bear, come on down, the weather's good and the freedom is even gooderer😂
Calgary here as well brother....great job on the info/history.... East is always suppress the west...also
It is far more likely, North western and North Eastern America will join Canada, then the Prairies join America. American offers Canada very little in comparison to what Canada offers the States.
1] Universal Health |Care
2] Gun Control no school shootings]
3] A decent minimum wage
4] Decent Social Security [ a pension the keeps you above the poverty line]
5] Decent Disability Pension [ determined by your doctor not be bureaucratic rules]

13] A multi cultural society that celebrates diversity and does not attempt to crush it.
14] the 2nd happiest country in the world.
15] dental care for seniors
America offers
1]lower taxes
2] guns and gun violence
3] private health care [with the worst health outcomes among industrialized nations]

5] poverty level disability pension
6] poverty level minimum wage
7] Global warming denial
8] partisan and very often corrupt politicians
9] Racism
10] Abortion Bans
11] Extremely expensive education
I could go on but why bother. Burying you kids to get lower taxes is something only billionaires think is a good deal. It is little wonder Americans wish to leave the states and the country is the 15th happiest in the civilized world.
We could trade the blue (Conservative) provinces for the blue states. Sounds fair to me.
I think Alberta is a good fit for the 51st U.S. state
One thing I find interesting: The usual reason people give for staying in Canada instead of joining the US is health care, NOT love of country ( although there are a few patriotic Canadians). This is a clue Canada is dying. I suspect that the US would offer Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon and BC statehood but BC would reject.
Healthcare is a big one even though it is a terrible system of long wait times. I always refer to myself as an Albertan instead of Canadian
You might be surprised. Most of those who would reject statehood, or separation, live in Vancouver or Victoria. Unless things have changed dramatically since I lived there, the people of Northern BC have no more use for Ontario or Quebec than we do, here in Alberta.
