That was a great tip about checking with Launch about the two separate grounds within the unit. Great job demonstrating the tool. It captured the anomaly very well.

I had an instance where I was connected to the OBD2 port with a scanner that was also a scope and I tried connecting my ground to something that wasn't grounded well and it arced when connecting the lead. I have been cautious since then since these scope can get pricey to replace or repair.

Glad you like them! I'm finally getting back into the flow a bit but of course everything has updated so I have to relearn some features.

Way to take this to another level. Many mechanics would just swap in another TIPM, but cost and availability should offer other options. Would love to see how you completed this repair.

This was a fleet truck and they wouldn’t authorize a tipm repair so we installed new from dealer.
The launch was able to configure the new module so I didn’t need to purchase a programming subscription from Chrysler.

Great Video! I am researching scanners. I can’t decide between the Launch Torque 5 or the TopDon Phoenix Smart.

Both! Just kidding. The scope is “Ok” but it may be cheaper to buy the launch torque link or Phoenix smart and then buy another brand scope rather than buy the tool and add the other feature. If you would rather keep it all in one tool then you could add the scope or the link.the launch and topdon programming interface can be bought separate.

Yea that’s what I been coming too. I am pretty sure I’m gonna grab a Torque Link and get a scope later. Idk maybe I’ll grab the TopDon Phoenix Lite2 and the scope then I can have both! Actually I had been planning on getting a used snap-on verus edge later then I can really cover everything, seems like you need a few scanners these days. Thanks for the advice and knowledge the videos are great.

I’ve coded a few vehicles so far. One was a bmw power steering rack and everything went perfect.
The coding is not an oscilloscope function but a function in the diagnostic side of the tool.
