Krabi and Ao Nang is one of my favorite places in the world and I've been several times. The people are nicer and prices are better than Phuket. Most shops and vendors just want to provide the customers with good value and are not trying to rip you off. A real good spot for a family. I hope the tourists can return soon.
Yup. Did all these Feb. 2019. Seeing this brings back fond memories. It sure was a lot busier then. All the businesses were open. It's just so much better and less depressing when the weather is nice and it's filled with happy people on vacation. People watching this, go if you can go once Covid clears up.
Thanks for the movie. My wife and I have been to Ao Nang many times. We love Ao Nang and the people there. We are from Sweden and hope soon the corona will disappear so we can travel again. On the days when we are there we usually go out by boat to Phra Nang beach and have lunch we buy from the boats by the beach. In the evenings, there are many wonderful restaurants in Ao Nang. We will be back again.
I went to Ao Nang for the first and only time 4 years ago, loved it, more chilled out than most places in Thailand, hope to go back soon, i recognized most of the places you went, Great video.
Excellent videos keep on showing those videos coz I'm going to koh sumei then onto koh phangan. Me and my wife. Your videos are giving me a good insight of the islands and the hotels and bungalows. Thank you .
I miss Thailand so much. My first and last visit was in January 2020 before the world turned upside down. I really hope when this whole ordeal is behind us, I can go back and experience all the things I missed on my previous visit.
Another great video, great camera work and subtitles is all we need, krabi is one of my favourite destinations, so sad to see it suffering because of this bloody corona virus, can't wait to return to wonderful Thailand.
Thanks for sharing this. My heart breaks for Thailand and the people struggling in the tourist areas. I’m in Australia so who knows when I will be allowed to, but I have saved up the money so that the second I can, I can go back to this country I love and put some money back into the economy.
I was there 3 years ago and stayed at the same hotel. I was on the last boat to leave Phi Phi island before the Tsunami hit as I came from Phuket. Pretty cool actually. 300 people were stranded. It was the first place I actually had hot water on a month holiday. The Ao Nang Paradise Resort is a nice place too. Private Bungalo with very helpful staff as I lost my luggage on the ferry as it was in a hurry. Love Ao Nang but didn't like all of the tourists. I"ve never seen rain drops so huge. Sad to see nobody there.
@Alofzico It really was a nice trip but with mixed emotions. Beautiful to visit at this time & hopefully our trip might help in a small way. More sidetrips to come btw, with vids from Railay, Phi Phi & Phuket to follow. Thanks for watching & commenting. Cheers
@Eternal Summer Rising - Traveling Techies For sure great to see some shops, biz and hotels reopening at least, long ways to go but will get there, again, hopefully sooner than later.
Another excellent video, as usual. Very interesting and informative, and one which brings back happy memories of our visit to Ao Nang 3 years ago. Have had vacations in Thailand for 6 out of the last 7 years (including a two-centre trip to Chiang Mai and Samui earlier this year). Love Samui. But it's truly heartbreaking to see what damage is being done to the tourist industry in Thailand. All of those lovely people who go out of their way to serve you and to make you feel welcome - many of them now out of a job and in a queue for food handouts. I fear that until a reliable vaccine is found, all economies will suffer. Let's hope the Thai people's resilience sees them through this pandemic. We'll be back, for sure.
Hey, what a great video! Went there in the mid-January 2020 and I gotta say I really miss the place! It's so unreal and the ambience is very special. No words could describe my trip. Hopefully this pandemic ends soon and we all can go there one day 👍🏽
@Rachel Hutton Yes, sad to see it so quiet. Ao Nang is still as beautiful as ever though and the people warm & kind as ever. Hopefully you and others can return & sooner than later. Take care
Oh my gosh I was there in Ao Nang last December and was planning to be there this December as well !! Unfortunately that’s not happening but I was sooo happy to see this through your lens and it brought back so many memories!! Thanks for posting
i took the bus to the airport. can not beat the price and I enjoy looking around. I am not a cheap charlie, but doing the local things are the fun part of traveling
🙏🏻🇹🇭 Krabi province welcomes foreign tourists I want you to come to Ao Nang, Krabi a lot. Krabi province has a lot of tourist attractions such as diving, kayaking, gun mountain, waterfalls, temples, walking street, elephant trekking.
@Ricardo Celli Also absolutely love the entire Krabi area. Will follow up with vids from Railay & Phi Phi soon as well (time permitting). Meanwhile, thanks for watching and for your kind support.
Nice video! Last time I was in Thailand was March '20. Managed to fly out the day before the lockdown. Last time I was in Krabi was August '16. Looking forward to going back there soon. 😋
I miss the older Don Muang. It had murals, displays, etc. and upon arrival you felt like you were in Thailand and not a typical steel and white sterile "modern" airport
A trip in the way back machine. I'm pleased things have gotten back to normal. As for the video? I prefer your narration. It's difficult to catch your sarcasm in print 😁
I always enjoy your vlogs and your generosity, great Canadian! However, feel so bad to see beautiful AoNang in such a poor economic situation. Hopefully borders will open to us and we can come back to beautiful AoNang, Samui, ...
@Farzad Dadgari Thanks kindly FD. Not great btw, just pitching in here & there. As you note, so many Thais are hurting now so glad to help out in my own small way where I can. Also hope those looking in wanting to return can & hopefully sooner than later. Take care all.
Hey first time I've commented on your channel....Great video really enjoyed it, never been to krabi so will try it one day! Sad to see Thailand struggling, been every year since 2004 and never seen Thailand so quiet. Live full time in England, maybe one day I may retire in thailand who knows. Keep up the great content, bri and frei east Yorkshire.
@Brian Lutkin Welcome Brian. It really is sad seeing Thailand struggle but there's some faint hope too. I still have a feeling Thailand may yet reopen at least initially in a limited, monitored way & hopefully sooner than later. Fingers crossed. Still, the resilience of the Thai people is amazing and everywhere we went we were met with kindness. Best to you & Frie in E Yorkshire, hope you may visit again in the not too distant future. Take care.
i visit ao nang few years ago on songkran festival one thing make me want to visit it again is the floating restaurant at krabi new friend here and wish we can stay connected
Nice one! Looks like you guys/gals are enjoying yourself @ Avani Ao Nang Cliff and the beaches! I was there with friends & families Dec last year, I drove from Hat Yai to Phuket (3 days @ Two Villas Holiday Pool Villa), and to Krabi (3 days @ Andakiri Pool Villa) and it was crowded everywhere back then (the main street, the restaurants, the island hopping tours, the beaches & faraway islands), apparently now it is still very empty from your video and unfortunately the delayed policy on reopening for tourism, the quarantine SOP, and limited access (e.g. only Phuket) etc . isn't helping them. Glad you are helping the local businesses there one way or another. It is NOT easy everywhere in the World, especially places heavily relying on tourism. Btw, good to also see the storm tail is ending, saw Phuket (from YT) was hit by a few heavy storms and beaches were littered with tonnes of rubbish (some beaches got cleaned up very recently). I was originally planning to spend a few days in Koh Samui during early Sept (planning to drive from Hatyai to Surat Thani, spend a night at Phun Phin, take ferry, spend ~5 days at Koh Samui (plan to stay at Private Villa Manta Samui Pool Villa & The Sea Resort beach front pool villa and do a few island hopping), then drive back and spend half a day at Nakhon Si Thammarat, but all the plans are now down the drain and unlikely to make it this year anymore (Monsoon season is hitting west coast & the gulf by Oct-Dec). All I can do now is 【WATCHING SOMEONE ELSE ENJOYING THEIR VACATION】, hahahahaha :D
Awesome, i have just returned from Aonang and recorded a video of the wonderful Nopparat beach + bay. It was unbelievably beautiful, the water is crystal clear and the entire bay is desserted. Chance of a lifetime to visit there before tourists are coming back.🥰
This is definitely Bangkok 112 (I'm glad because I liked Bangkok 112 and I'm happy he is still alive)! The style is the same with little differences to try and hide his identity (notice he never talks here because we know what his voice sounds like)!!He has just changed his channel because his old formula was getting de-monitized! Whatever the real truth is, this is a good channel with good content!
@john smith Thanks for the kind comments & for dropping by (even though for the wrong guy;). Just for the record, I do speak sometimes (also in this vid) and I do appear sometimes, as can be seen in this vid: ua-cam.com/video/BDILYiAvEO4/v-deo.html Cheers!
Hi there are most of the bars etc on beach road or on the hill,I see there are a few places around, like walking street and RCA.Your videos are good keep up the good work. Hope to see more of Krabi.
@Robbo Gsy Center Point bar complex & areas on beach rd (+ Walking St & the lane behind with O'Malley's Irish Pub etc) is usually lively in normal tourist times. Just up the hill a short walk away RCA is popular for its more traditional 'bar beer' style places. Then just up from RCA there's a couple reggae style pubs & a few others + Molly's Tavern, D2 etc across from RCA. So for a small town, a fair amount of bars/pubs etc. Cheers!
I am from Malaysia.. Our tourist spot also hurting. But, our government encouraging domestic tourism. Last month I am going to Redang Island, Terengganu. The business there is a bit alive and we can help local people and resorts for at least to operate well during this pandemic. The same goes for Langkawi Island, Genting Highlands, Cameroon Highlands, Port Dickson, Malacca etc.. our tourism got impacted but since Malaysian love to travel, we swarming around these spots.. sometimes these places are crowded with Malaysians. It is quite promising but still not enough. Actually this year, I planned to go to Phuket Thailand on previous May 2020, but need to cancel everything due to the pandemic and closed border. Hopefully, next year will be a great year to travel again...
Nice to watch thank you, my only criticism is that many of the clips are too short, you need to take longer scenes when filming....at times it was so quick it was almost like shuffling photos
@Melvyn Sinyard Thank you Melvyn for your constructive comments & guilty as charged. Some make an entire video of just a room review, or a beach, or bar, etc. I usually add several of each in plus loads of info etc thus tend to cram way too much in then rush it. Will try slowing up fast transitions a bit though as you correctly point out can be difficult to watch. One other concern is time. If I spaced clips to say double current length, most of my vids would be feature movie length.... Will try to slow down though, good advice, thank you :)
@Thepprasit Thongchai You are so lucky, wish I was going back too! This being a long weekend hopefully it gets busy, the locals and biz really need it. Have a great trip:)
Greetings from your regional neighbor Vietnam where I have been for nearly 30 years and still loving it. Your video came up as a recommendation and I am glad I gave it a try. Tipping back your 25% discount to the curry servers earned an instant subscription to your channel. I also enjoyed your style of video and explanation as well!!
@loveaodai100 Thank you kindly:) Had a look at your channel covering Vietnam to Bhutan and subbed as well. I also love Vietnam, use a coding team there and have a web project nearing completion, just wish I could visit (but ZALO fills in for now;) Yes, have become a serial tipper throughout this, also no haggling with market vendors during this time. Everyone's hurting so just trying to help in my own small way. Better days ahead, hopefully sooner than later & looking fwd to revisiting Vietnam! Take care PS: if interested in Vietnam pls check out loveaodai100's channel also here's my vid from a trip to Saigon: ua-cam.com/video/l_hF-QP2hWs/v-deo.html Cheers! Zo! :)
@bianca wijfjes Love Ao Nang too and was tough to see it like this. But the area & people are as beautiful as ever despite much hardship. Glad we went & hope our visit helped even in a small way. Ao Nang absolutely will bounce back and tourists will return, hopefully sooner than later. Take care
Stl Brill, shame it's not normal but excellent vlog once again which of the 2 hotels would you choose, as I'm loving the avani with hot tub can see me and bridget proper chilling in that lol. Keep the vlogs coming you lucky ****** can't wait for the next one, Paul btw. Bad news today no tourists til Feb March 2021 ???? This is going to ruin a lot of livelihoods, so sad.
@Paul Berry Cheers Paul. Absolutely would recommend Avani, superb staff too. Although another contender emerged in the Dusit D2 next door which I also ended up staying at prior to taking a boat to Phi Phi (vid to follow). Yes, Thais are really hurting, especially in tourist-centric areas such as Ao Nang, Phi Phi, Phuket, Samui, etc, etc. Hopefully the bit of domestic travel uptick helps at least somewhat. But REALLY hope a path can be found to at least phase in limited Intnl visitors in a controlled and measured manner and hopefully sooner than later. Fingers still crossed here.
Your trip looked amazing! We’re supposed to go to Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, and Koh Phi Phi in January 2021. I really hope they let tourists in by then. 🙏
I would say it's looking unlikely at the moment 🙁 Thai border government / border control borders the extreme when it comes to these sort of situations.
Been there last two weeks. Very peaceful because not many people were there and not so crowded at all. But still lots of shop lots still close due pandemic. Plus not much activity can be done since almost all fascinating places was closed due pandemic.
@AmirFS Jaa It is very peaceful but some attractions are still open like Tiger Temple, Emerald Lake, Railay, boat trips to Islands etc, etc. Perhaps we were lucky in that we visited just last week and previously the parks etc were closed.
I've been to Krabi four times, but haven't actually been to Ao Nang (crazy right!). Wow, I didn't realize how westernize that whole area is nowadays. I usually stay in Railay or Tubkaak area.
Outstanding yet again and very informative and very much look forward to Part 2. 👍😁❤️ What happened to the video you posted 3 days ago called “Good Morning from Kho Phi Phi” ?
@Family Mart That 'vid' I did from Phi Phi was actually just a 'LIVE-stream'. Unfortunately the signal up that hill dropped from 4G to 512 kb after the first 2 mins thus looked like jello for the remainder. This brought nasty comments from some, blaming me, my crap phone, etc, etc. So instead of inviting more abuse, decided to just bin it. Good news is I also made a video which I'll post up soon, time permitting. Thanks for watching this one FM and for your kind comment. Cheers!
SideTripLife Unfortunately some small minded people just love to criticise people through a keyboard as they have no life themselves. I think your videos are outstanding and informative when compared to other You tubers. I just wish you made more, good luck SideTripLife. 😁
hi i caught a flight from Don Mueang, to Phuket very easy, i have to get to the Krabi and areas looks fantastic ,sadly i think at last another 6 months of this madness 😟🙏👍
@andy stubbs Ao Nang/Krabi/Railay etc absolutely worth a visit next time (and hopefully next time comes sooner than later). Despite all, I have a feeling it will. Take care

Hello sir,
In this video you said that don't give your passport as a security for bike.
Than what should we give them as a security for bike.
Max 5000 Baht or less

An outdoor tub on the balcony is an interesting feature!
The entire Phuket/Trang/Krabi region is so interesting and scenic.
@WadmanP Yep, agree. Ao Nang the most scenic imho but love the whole area. More vids to follow from Railay, Phi Phi & Phuket (time permitting).
We stayed at Ao Nang on February 2020 , it was really good... the weather was so nice... no rain, no wind...
Excellent videos keep on showing those videos coz I'm going to koh sumei then onto koh phangan. Me and my wife. Your videos are giving me a good insight of the islands and the hotels and bungalows. Thank you .
A realy nice town. I stay there more than 20 times and I miss it. We have to wait now.
I miss Thailand so much. My first and last visit was in January 2020 before the world turned upside down. I really hope when this whole ordeal is behind us, I can go back and experience all the things I missed on my previous visit.
Best videos of Thailand at the moment.
... and today for your viewers you are giving a lot: we heard your voice several times.

@francois vinneuil Thank you Francois. Not anywhere near best but glad some are liking my vids. No GF btw, just a very special friend ;)

I just love the style of these videos. So relaxing with great info.
Sad to see them struggling so much. I adore Krabi, Ao Nang and Samui. As soon as we’re allowed out of the country again, I’m coming to visit!
I live in Ao Nang. Haven't been there in several months due to the crazy virus thing. Nice to see all of my favorite places again. Thanks.

Will try to slow down though, good advice, thank you :)
thanks for your video. waiting for next.
I'm from Thailand . I like your clip cuz no voice over and chillout. Waiting for next trip Lanta Phangan Koh Tao. 😊 If it possible.
Looks nice, thanks for the video.
Great Review! I'm going to krabi this weekend Thank you
@Thepprasit Thongchai You are so lucky, wish I was going back too!

Take care
PS: if interested in Vietnam pls check out loveaodai100's channel
also here's my vid from a trip to Saigon: ua-cam.com/video/l_hF-QP2hWs/v-deo.html
Cheers! Zo! :)
Been to krabi a beautiful place.. Stayed at hula hula.. Sad to see the state in this covid era..
Great video 👍👍👍
Nice video m8,was there 2 weeks ago ery quiet and very sad to see,ao nang such a nice place.
Fantastic video and very interesting
Ao Nang almost feels like a second home to us, been there with my family 6 times! So sad to see it like this!
Take care
I enjoyed all your vlogs and content alot! Jingggg
@Ismail Gursoy Thanks kindly:)
Fingers are more than crossed for me and Paul lol
Your trip looked amazing! We’re supposed to go to Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, and Koh Phi Phi in January 2021. I really hope they let tourists in by then. 🙏
Krabi is very so so i would't go back
I would say it's looking unlikely at the moment 🙁 Thai border government / border control borders the extreme when it comes to these sort of situations.
Good narration, miss Thailand so much!!
Just back from Samui - same thing. They seem to be overlooking farang domestic tourism deals for those of us who never left...
Oh, I miss Ao Nang 👌🇹🇭✌️
Fingers crossed for Phuket 'sandbox' opening upcoming and then hopefully other locales such as Krabi, Samui etc can also join in going fwd.
I've been to Krabi four times, but haven't actually been to Ao Nang (crazy right!). Wow, I didn't realize how westernize that whole area is nowadays. I usually stay in Railay or Tubkaak area.
My trip to ao nang should be on march. but pandemic comes everything got cancel. hoping to see ao nang and bangkok next year 😭
@nurul diyana Hopefully sooner. Good luck
Thank you. Great video. You like me give tips. Good on you.
Great video- as always - stay safe
OMB!!!!! I thought I was watching the Missing in Action famous Bangkok112 .... Same vibe and methodology! ... I wonder what really happened to him???

@Andreas mrap For sure, in normal season Klong Muang beach area is lovelier & quieter. We went by that area as you'll see briefly in next vid (coming soon). Thanks for watching.
Airport prices range between Rs 250 and Rs 500 for a local beer pint in India. That's about 100-200 Baht.
@Sheshank Reddy Thanks for the info SR. How bout that, almost same-same:)
@@SideTripLife yeah, almost exactly.
