- ** For some reason I am getting a lot of really toxic comments from people spitting bile and hatred at me, saying I shouldn't take it so seriously because it is only a game. So I really can't understand why they are so angry and hateful about me disqualifying someone from this "game" for unsafe driving. For this reason all comments have to be approved before posting. Your views don't have to agree with mine, but they can't be toxic.**
I was hosting a session to recruit drivers for www.precisionracingleague.com. This guy was talking trash and harassing other drivers. It didn't stop until he hit the 10x incident limit I had set. He lasted 4 laps. XD
Is it just me or the "hitboxes" are wider than the actual car?

why on earth does it take 10 major incidents to black flag ....
It's actually 10 Incident "Points" different Incidents have different points accrued to them. 2 car contacts and a self spin is 10 points. 10 cut corners is 10 points. 5 self spins is 10 points...you get the Idea. I set this session at a limit of 10.
oph5pr1n6 thanks, i've seen those points given on gameplay video but never knew it led to dq, i thought maybe it afffects online prestige.
This is exactly what Forza is missing. I hope Project cars does something similar to this.

P.S. iRacing is the only racing sim where you also get a chance to race against Real Life professionals like Rubens Barrichello, Nicki Thiim, and many more who actively play the game. I shit my pants when I was racing side by side with Rubens Barrichello, the ex Formula 1 driver, who used to race on the same team with Michael Schumacher back in the days.

Peopple don't understand and can't distinguish this as a game or a simulator. I feel for this guy and I'm happy it's this and not rookie level crashes. First off you pay 60 or more bucks annually to race, unlike forza and project cars, this game teaches you to race as well as race against other players. Consider iracing as a more realistic version of gran turismo. So when theres people on here who want to either 1. Learn to race 2. Enjoy their hobby or 3. Race with other mature intellectual people you should understand it's not really a videogame but rather a hobby, a simulator, or another source of education. People spend anywhere from 800 to 20k and maybe even more on building a formula 1 racing simulator just to play this game. You may be saying why don't you modify a real car. Because a nissan gtr or a Subaru wrx sti is never going to drive like an f1 and unless you have close to a million dollars (without a manafactur's sponsorship) to shed on building an f1 vehicle and then paying for a real license and training as well as a pit crew then I advise you to not to say this is a video game its merely a hobby or as ive stated above. Forza is never gonna give you an experience like this so leave racing to the real enthusiasts ;)
currently the best membership package in the game is $120 with 40% off. it is $199 a year when paying for a full year regular price. If you pay monthly it is $13 a month. Definitely not a game and definitely not cheap.

I think that guy would enjoy Wreckfest a lot more, where dangerous driving is all part of the race. iRacing is for simmers who enjoy racing like its done in real life.
Bumping happens all the time in racing not sure why iRacing folks get so offended when they get bumped.

Troy Contreras well iracing is a simulation (i've never played it) so yes they take it seriously. they hope these jerks go playing forza and thats why this game is so expansive. but as u can see some people pay 100$/year to do the same as on forza which cost 20$ only once.

iRacing is a hobby; not a game. There is both a financial and time commitment to it and because of that yes people take it seriously. iRacing has one of the best racing communities around because there is very little tolerance for this type of behavior. I can understand why some people would not want to be this uptight about a race so that is why there are other games for that.
Why? It is so much cheaper and less liability to go the iRacing route. You have perfectly scanned laser tracks (which have been praised by multiple pro race car drivers), pretty accurate cars, a pretty good tire model that is getting better by the day, and a very good netcode and online structure. It has all the elements that someone who wants to race/practice wants from the comfort of their home.
With a real race car you have so many things you have to worry about plus that's just one car and most likely one track to race at. Also like I stated before this is not a game; it is a sim and a hobby.
Would love to play that game unfortunately I don't have the money to built a decent PC right now but one day ... I will ! 😃 Im stock on Asseto and Pcars2 with my Fanatec 😛 still pretty good tho .

get ready to spend some dough. Outside your rig for racing in game you will spend probably a couple grand a year to play, 200 bucks just for a year membership, tracks and cars cost money, racing costs money. If you want a decent simulation rig for the experience expect 5 or 6 grand for that and the PC.
If you manage to win their big tournament you have a shot at I believe $200,000 and a 1 year contract with a professional race team. It really is not a video game, right rig and it is truly an immersive simulator.

Holden308 he was passing cars under yellow, and ramming them to slow them down. That takes the fun away from others when you are racing against someone who races dirty, he rubbing is something a lot different than trying to wreck another car
You don't rub with indy cars plus lets see you pay $199 a year for just a membership for something, it costs money for the cars, costs money for the tracks. It is easy to rack up a grand in this game and most of the people are racing for real money and a potential race team contract.

This game is lame and so is the basis for F1. Literally way back when a bunch of young, wealthy aristocrats started racing. This is the equivalent to riding the the train "simulator"
To be honest that first move was pretty good since didn't wreck the other guy. He literally did what Jerry Mayfield did to Dale Earnhardt Sr to win a race. Would probably only give the other guy (0-2x) car contact. Kinda sad he did that for no reason and without any caution though. Waste of his parent's money.
I Think you are referring to Nascar style racing, in which this may have been a legitimate move. In open wheel racing any contact can severely damage aerodynamics for both parties and should always be avoided.
You can't just bump people around in open wheel racing. Open wheel and stock car racing are completely different.
