ETD Interpreting Scripture 7

This class is part of the East Tennessee District Church of the Nazarene Ministerial Studies Curriculum.
This lesson focuses on the Modern Period of history of interpretation. The Historical Criticism, Form Criticism, and Redaction Criticism approaches to interpretation are introduced. The influence of the philosopher Hegel is recognized (thesis, antithesis, synthesis). The lesson wraps up with a brief description of canonical criticism, sociological investigation, liberation hermeneutics, and feminism hermeneutics.
