You're criticising the language of AD&D DMG which was written in 1979! And Tolkien's LotR which was first published in 1954. Western culture and values were very different back then. Instead, why don't you criticise modern products which contain harmful stereotypes? The tribal shaman features as an enemy in the PC games Diablo 2 and 3 - 2000 and 2012 rrspectively. Shaman and witch doctor are terms that exist in popular vernacular. You're focusing on the wrong things. Disappointing.
