In my opinion Lebron had only 2 finals that he lost that he was supposed to win 2011 (obviously) and 2014 (he wasn’t supposed to win but he had a fair chance) the rest he had little to no chance of winning
So you gonna say the 07 finals where he had a top 3 defense and a solid offense is something he had no chance? I mean he could win once at least. Get one win. The Mavs one is the greatest choke job I've ever seen. The one in 2015 he had injuries so they get a pass, but if you use that then when they came back from 3-1, it doesnt count either cuz he had a healthy team and warriors were hurt. 2017 he had a good chance too. Warriors gave up all their depth for KD and only had 3 really good players. Dray is overrated and they lacked a good center. If Bron is the GOAT, then he should be better than 3-6 and it isnt debateable
Game 5 wasn’t rigged the only way they beat the warriors in 2017 was because they purely out scored them. Not only that the rockets were a good defensive team with Trevor ariza luc Mbah amoute especially in D’antoni system. And James Harden is a once in a generation scorer so they could stop and score against them. The 2017 cavs they got rid of Dellavadova and they were offensive only and that wasn’t and didn’t work on the warriors they won that game because they out scored them for that one game. You should know this with your rockets statement because that’s literally what they tried to do in GAME 6&7
If a team lost in a best of 7, then they weren’t the better team, therefore meaning they were not supposed to win. Lebron was bad in 2011, but the Mavericks were impeccable. The 2014 Spurs were without a doubt the best team in basketball that year, and spanked the Heat.
Just Another Troll well no he didn’t have a chance in 07 while you’re right he had a top 3 defense his offense was sub par at best. Not only that experience plays a huge role too. You have a 22 YEAR OLD LEBRON going up against Tim Duncan top 10 player of all time in his prime. Tony Parker top 50 player of all time in his prime in fact he was the MVP. You had Manu IN HIS PRIME and a all time defensive player in Bruce Bowen and a big shot like Robert horry coming of your bench. And COACHED BY GREGG POPOVICH no they didn’t have a chance to win agame AGAINST A TEAM WHO ALREADY WON 3 CHANPIONSHIPS TOGETHER and the last 2 were really close. And this was before Lebron had a jumpshot so you could actually stop him. And yes there was some big injuries like the one to bogut and iggy but they got iggy back For game 7 not to mention they still had Steph still had DRAYMOND(who would’ve been the finals MVP if they won) and Klay with a still relatively deep bench. So I can’t give them a pass. The warriors still had their 3 best players and the cavs lost 2 of their 3 best players. And in 2017 maybe at the most it could go another game but the cavs had very little defense, their strategy was to outscore the warriors as we all know now doesn’t work the cavs tried it and the rockets tried a year later, it doesn’t work. And finally who is the fool whose calling Lebron the GOAT he’s clearly not and any person who says he is is just wrong
He needs to react to every comment section. I went to a video about james harden's latest 50 point triple double and in the comment section, someone said that in order the top 5 players of all time were 1. Lebron James 2. Kevin Durant 3. Stephen Curry 4. James Harden 5. Michael Jordan
GOAT pass-first PG: John Stockton GOAT shooting PG: Steph Curry (Nash was efficient too, but Curry's stealing his thunder.) There's merit for either PG being the best in different schemes, but idk what team would benefit from having Magic over Curry or Stockton
Coltin Thorn but honestly I think the pg I would to take to start my team is steph and I meight be a little bias but he is the goat shooter with the second best handles on the league I say and really underrated vision as well as the best off ball for a pg I’ve ever seen I think he’s truly one of the most skilled players I’ve ever seen
i do think if ray allen played in this era, the gap between curry and him would be way less. its hard to compare these players when there teams had a different mentality
@@Reqzy10 how can you be so sure man? people are shooting 3's whenever they want, let ray shoot as many threes as harden and he would average close to or even more than 30. like i said its a whole different mentality and ray would benefit like crazy
The same sort of arguments can be made about anyone who won anything ever if you dig deep enough. Here are plenty of examples within just the NBA: Jordan couldn’t make it out of the East without Scottie, the Pistons only won in 2004 because Shaq and Kobe hated each other, Russell won 11 times because the NBA had just 8 teams, LeBron made it to 8 straight Finals because the East sucked during that time, etc., etc. We can save time simply by admitting that luck and auspicious circumstances are huge parts of success, and nothing more needs to be said for any purpose other than entertainment.
Steph is the best player in the league now that Bron's fallen off. Assuming KD leaves after they 3peat, all Steph will need is 1 more ring to be the goat pg. That also assumes he wins FMVP one of those years too.
Umm pro sports league's become more competitive as they grow and time passes, not less. The only exception is if a league contracts which the NBA never has. Basketball is far more global than in Stockton's time too with far more int'l players. Larger talent pool means more talent as well, not less. Dont confuse physicality with competitiveness.
@@rygesa Not necessarily. Are you going to tell me that today's boxing scene is MORE competitive than the 70s?? Are you gonna tell me that today's soccer is MORE competitive than the 80s? Nope. Your statement is unfounded. The NBA was much more competitive with a much higher calibre of players back in the 90s.
I think in his prime we will look back and say he’s the most skilled player of all time. He does so many things at a level we’ve never seen, and his attitude propagates to the rest of the team, believe it or not the ability to mold chemistry on the court is a skill as well. The cool part about comparisons between him and magic is they’re both the best to lace them up from a team molding perspective imo. They just play in two completely different eras, whichever one you prefer from a basketball standpoint is purely subjective from a point guard standpoint. Both are dominant, both are imo with Jordan easily the most fun players I’ve ever watched. And they both pushed basketball forward in their respective generations. Basketball was simply a higher level sport after Magic left and will be the same once Steph leaves.
Dom, you gotta keep posting the my league videos I miss your old my league with the 3 kings and the 2015 continuation even was interesting as well as 2K16 with Golden State (Steph, Harden and AD) even though you didn’t finish. I think this Cavs one would get more attention than you give it credit for if you did a series with it in someway 👍🏾
On the note of Finals MVPs, I want to ask anyone reading of how much they should count when debating about a player's legacy. In a handful of discussions I have been looking into it is almost like they are Mini-rings and essentially validate a person's finals run instead of enhancing the impact. I personally feel if you were to put a legend's accolades into a personal scoring system they should be worth the same as a conference title since the conference playoffs are 3 series which get incrementally harder, and the Finals is one series that is the summit of a player's whole season. Is this just apart of NBA culture, the gap of power the finals hold over the rest of the playoffs, or something else entirely?
Y’all get me with this kyrie and love was hurt crap 😂.. like Steph, iggy, and bogut weren’t injured plus a draymond was suspended 😂.. and Steph lost by 4 points against what a lot consider the greatest all time with a bulls like supporting cast
Those players actually played though. Curry only pretended to be injuried after he lost. Before he was screaming he was back. Iggy played game 7. Kyrie played in one game and Love played in zero games. Not even close to the same situation.
@@redhunter8731 curry wasn't pretending to be hurt. He was. Thats why the whole cavs gameplan was to target him in PnR on defense. Cause it was obvious his lateral movement was compromised. Is it an excuse no but its an obvious reason. Lebron has been using that same reason since he got injured this year. And its valid injuries effect players abilities to perform. Simplr as that
Just Another Troll cavs was missing Irving and love the warriors was missing bogut who wasn’t really a big factor come on now I’m not even a cavs fan y’all don’t wanted accept every team y’all played in the 2015 playoffs had important players injured
2:47 im assuming when he says the biggest meltdown we’ve ever witness thats he’s talking about curry. thats false imo. the biggest meltdown with no debate is bron in 2011. at least curry was struggling with ankle injuries. lebron in 2011 flat out played like a role player.
I do agree with the two Finals MVPs being the deciding factor for Steph to be the greatest PG ever. But they cannot be in a win where Golden State were overwhelming favorites to win the title. Like it has to be against a team that has just as much as a shot of beating Golden State as Golden State has of them heading into the series.
Unpopular opinion: id take stockton over steph. There was a comment i saw where they said “yes micheal jordan is a threat when he has the ball in his hand but everyone is a threat when stockton has the ball in his hand.” So @ me.
Steph Curry recieves so much unnecessary criticism simply because he doesn't look the part. He's the first dominate NBA athlete to do it primarily based off his skills and not his athletic ability. No that does not mean other players weren't skilled but 99% of the greatest players in the league had some overwhelming phyiscal advantage.
The comparison of Steph and magic is difficult because they play so differently. I think magic is the type of player that fits on any team in any era. Steph has all the accolades Dom mentioned. I think Steph's ability to break game plans and his dominance makes him in the GOAT PG convo. I agree with 2 finals MVP's, and maybe one more regular season MVP, to be GOAT PG
You should make an unpopular opinions video on Chris Paul especially now that younger fans don’t remember him from before he went to LA and how he’s “struggled” in the playoffs
@@A_Easley Wilt got his points against Bill, but that style of play was not getting his team any wins. He started winning only after his Sixers' coach told him to play like Bill, and focus more on playmaking and defence.
@@A_Easley The 1962 EDF shows that your statement is demonstrably false. That's what you get by only looking at statistics. This video from 4:28 on reveals that Russell - like how Rodman or K. Leonard locked Shaq/LeBron - effectively managed to stop Wilt with the Celtics' defensive strategy when it mattered, and also often outplayed him when they were together on the court. After a comfortable lead had been achieved by the Celtics, Wilt was allowed to pad his stats in garbage time against weaker defenders, thus giving impression he dominated Russell. ua-cam.com/video/OCX2bEBPABQ/v-deo.html
GSW would of never been a dynasty without Durant. Curry and Klay are the greatest shooting back court since Lewis and Allen were together, but there's no way they win more than 1 championship without KD.
the 2017 finals weren’t really as lopsided as i originally thought when i went back and thought about it. it honestly just came down to klay locking down kyrie for every game except game 4. love was pretty bad as well. people will try and say that KD out played Lebron all series but they both put up crazy numbers. you also can’t really blame kevin love bc draymond was defensive player of the year that year. idk i think the fact that kyrie and love were getting locked down is the reason the cavs lost. the cavs bench was pretty ass compared to gs’ as well
People always have to shit on great players for no reason. "Stephen curry is trash", no he is not. There isn't a single player who is perfect, but some are better than others and you should give them that respect
Here’s a fact about the 2015 nba finals. :Iggy doubled his scoring average: For the season iggy averaged 7.8 ppg on 47% shooting. But In the finals he averaged 16.3 ppg, on 52% shooting against Lebron, he also had 20 ppg on 48% in the 3 games that he started. Something else interesting.. Harrison Barnes shot 37% for the series but over 50% when Lebron was guarding him.
@@randelcarter5432 3 peat wouldn't put him over Magic. Magic won 5 titles and actually had 3 finals mvps to Curry's 0 and Magic also won 3 mvps to Curry's 2. Not even close.
Steph doesn’t get the same type of superstar treatment from refs as harden. I’ve watched tons of tape of players stepping under Curry as he shoots, grabbing his feet, and otherwise dangerous plays that the refs flat out ignore.
When an entire league changes to fit your style because you can't counter it. You are just great already. If he will be greater than Magic is a matter of opinion.
Here an unpopular opinion: Before Steph, there Jimmer Freddete doing the same thing but just at the college level. Pulling from from half court, smooth handles and shooting the lights out but he just came in the league in the wrong era with the wrong team
Lebron had no help in 2015. 78-196 fg (39.8%) 118 misses. 3rd most in finals history. 3-17 fg (17.6%) in the clutch final 5 minutes score within 5 points. 0-3 on game winning attempts. Scoreless in the 4th quarter of game 4. 20 misses in 4 of 6 games. Shot under 50% in 6/6 games. Shot under 40% in 4/6 games.

Dom you need to react to Takes in your comment section... they wild😂
Fr 😂
He needs to react to every comment section. I went to a video about james harden's latest 50 point triple double and in the comment section, someone said that in order the top 5 players of all time were
1. Lebron James
2. Kevin Durant
3. Stephen Curry
4. James Harden
5. Michael Jordan
Rishi Bappanad I cant let that slide 🤦🏾♂️😂
Rishi Bappanad Jesus... Fucking... Christ... please tell me you’re joking
@@rishibappanad Lmfaoooooo
That “@“ was the best part of this video 😂 😂😂
The same people who argue that Kyrie is better than steph are the same people who are that argue about Jordan not being the goat
More MyLeague please, also love your videos, they are entertaining.
Yes Curry revolutionized the game of basketball but remember Magic SAVED BASKETBALL
facts
Curry definitely saved the NBA in 2016. He carried the NBA that season.
GOAT pass-first PG: John Stockton
GOAT shooting PG: Steph Curry (Nash was efficient too, but Curry's stealing his thunder.)
There's merit for either PG being the best in different schemes, but idk what team would benefit from having Magic over Curry or Stockton
Coltin Thorn because magic was just dominating he was really big with his vision and ability to score
Coltin Thorn but honestly I think the pg I would to take to start my team is steph and I meight be a little bias but he is the goat shooter with the second best handles on the league I say and really underrated vision as well as the best off ball for a pg I’ve ever seen I think he’s truly one of the most skilled players I’ve ever seen
i do think if ray allen played in this era, the gap between curry and him would be way less. its hard to compare these players when there teams had a different mentality
ray allen would definitely be a great player, but he still wouldn’t be close to harden and curry is better than harden.
@@Reqzy10 how can you be so sure man? people are shooting 3's whenever they want, let ray shoot as many threes as harden and he would average close to or even more than 30. like i said its a whole different mentality and ray would benefit like crazy
ray allen from 1999-2009 was a bad man...people sleep on him..
Asmosis Jones it’s not that people sleep on him, there’s just better players than him obviously and curry is one of those.
Steph quite literally changed the way the game is played and yall are still doing him like this? Lol
Exactly.
Steph is the best player in the league now that Bron's fallen off. Assuming KD leaves after they 3peat, all Steph will need is 1 more ring to be the goat pg. That also assumes he wins FMVP one of those years too.
Steph isn't even better than John Stockton.
Stockton isnt in Steph's stratosphere. One has 2x MVPs and 3x rings, the other has none of those.
@@rygesa To be fair, Stockton was playing in a much more competitive era.
Why people gotta disrespect the people who can play basketball good
Lmao thats life. Lebron and Harden are players that seem to get critized no matter what they do. Some people are bitter like that.
Kurruchi It’s insane how haters spend so much of their own time just hate watching lol. Sad as hell bro
That Harden is better than Steph is complete bullsit
But he is
@@joshloach7670 He's really not he just shoots a lot, just imagine if Curry was allowed to take as many shots as Harden, AH LAWD
@@joshloach7670 L. Curry is better

Do another Steph unpopular opinion vid!!
Yo this video type format is dope.
Thanks for the continued excellent and entertaining content
Rico Suave no finals mvps mean the a tiny bit lower than mvps
Y’all get me with this kyrie and love was hurt crap 😂.. like Steph, iggy, and bogut weren’t injured plus a draymond was suspended 😂.. and Steph lost by 4 points against what a lot consider the greatest all time with a bulls like supporting cast
Those players actually played though. Curry only pretended to be injuried after he lost. Before he was screaming he was back. Iggy played game 7. Kyrie played in one game and Love played in zero games. Not even close to the same situation.
RedHunter pretended to be injured after the loss like lecast
@@jcupgif exactly. Fuck that bullshit from any player. If you are healthy enough to be in the game you are healthy.
@@redhunter8731 bogut didn't play the whole series
@@redhunter8731 curry wasn't pretending to be hurt. He was. Thats why the whole cavs gameplan was to target him in PnR on defense. Cause it was obvious his lateral movement was compromised. Is it an excuse no but its an obvious reason. Lebron has been using that same reason since he got injured this year. And its valid injuries effect players abilities to perform. Simplr as that
I like the myleague parts. I loved the 3kings and its always interesting with the teams that are put in
Notice how nostalgia is really strong when people are ranking NBA players
Happy late birthday to your dog Dom
2015 warriors only played injured teams
You act like they could control who they played.
They beat a good rockets team in 5
2016 they lost cuz they were injured. Your point
2016 Cavs only beat injured teams.
Just Another Troll cavs was missing Irving and love the warriors was missing bogut who wasn’t really a big factor come on now I’m not even a cavs fan y’all don’t wanted accept every team y’all played in the 2015 playoffs had important players injured
Yo dom, can you show us what teams are exactly in your league, I’d be interested in trying this out myself
Viewing this from 2023, it’s crazy how things have changed since this video
Aye when you play press up on the d pad so we can see the badges pop up
Definitely make a dedicated myleague series, at least an episode. I’d love to watch that
2:47 im assuming when he says the biggest meltdown we’ve ever witness thats he’s talking about curry. thats false imo. the biggest meltdown with no debate is bron in 2011. at least curry was struggling with ankle injuries. lebron in 2011 flat out played like a role player.
Not to mention lebron was getting locked down by terry
I do agree with the two Finals MVPs being the deciding factor for Steph to be the greatest PG ever. But they cannot be in a win where Golden State were overwhelming favorites to win the title. Like it has to be against a team that has just as much as a shot of beating Golden State as Golden State has of them heading into the series.
Unpopular opinion: id take stockton over steph. There was a comment i saw where they said “yes micheal jordan is a threat when he has the ball in his hand but everyone is a threat when stockton has the ball in his hand.” So @ me.
maaannnn if you don't do this myleague as a series i love this shit
You should do a podcast of videos like these
Steph Curry recieves so much unnecessary criticism simply because he doesn't look the part. He's the first dominate NBA athlete to do it primarily based off his skills and not his athletic ability. No that does not mean other players weren't skilled but 99% of the greatest players in the league had some overwhelming phyiscal advantage.
Yeah bc dirk and larry bird were not dominate at any point in their careers
@@johnhall7350 both players were above average height. Bird was 6'10 dirk is 7'1
The comparison of Steph and magic is difficult because they play so differently.
Unpopular opinion
Bill Russell didn’t dominate Wilt
That's facts lol. Wilt dominated Bill but Bill got the titles
I want them titles
When are we getting a next gen legend's league on twitch
Here’s a fact about the 2015 nba finals.
:Iggy doubled his scoring average:
For the season iggy averaged 7.8 ppg on 47% shooting.
But In the finals he averaged 16.3 ppg, on 52% shooting against Lebron, he also had 20 ppg on 48% in the 3 games that he started.
Something else interesting.. Harrison Barnes shot 37% for the series but over 50% when Lebron was guarding him.
What kind of settings do you use for your myleauge i wanna make one that will keep me invested
Do it a series
It will be 🔥
Unpopular Opinion: Steph Curry is the 3rd best player of the 2010s era (behind KD and LeBron)
please do more my league videos, they're my favorite and like you said, you don't find many good series on youtube
So much of these debates is purely perspective
great vid
unpopular opinion: curry would be a top 2 pg (all time) already if he finished off the 73-9 season with a title
All time? You're probably right on then, that would literally make him the leader of the most successful season of all time
To me he's already top 2
Nah, I'd give Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson the nod for now, but a three peat will make him unquestionably top 2 if not 1
@@randelcarter5432 3 peat wouldn't put him over Magic. Magic won 5 titles and actually had 3 finals mvps to Curry's 0 and Magic also won 3 mvps to Curry's 2. Not even close.
@@bloodredblood9861 the fmvp argument sure but the nap argument is stupid. Not about to forget that steph won a unanimous mvp

Does Dom2k have a podcast? I neeeeed one
Steph doesn’t get the same type of superstar treatment from refs as harden. I’ve watched tons of tape of players stepping under Curry as he shoots, grabbing his feet, and otherwise dangerous plays that the refs flat out ignore.
What teams did u put in the my league? Because some of the classic teams aren’t very good and some are in the middle
Do part 2 and what does Curry need to past Magic
Ah some good old Stephen Curry hate 😂😂
Do a part two

Yo Dom, you should do a video on how Malcom brogan is likely to be joining the 50/40/90 club by the end of this season
bro he already joined it, brogdon didn’t even finished the season so his season ending injury allowed him to be a part of the club.

When an entire league changes to fit your style because you can't counter it. You are just great already. If he will be greater than Magic is a matter of opinion.
Yo is the my league roster on the community list for downloading??
Yes you have to do the myleague
I hope we can the myleague to it’s own series
Is there any way you could upload the roster to the Roster Creator?
Is there a link to the 07 cavs from 2k16?
Kyrie played with a guy who averaged a 29 point triple double when he won soo
And curry play with 2 other allstars so...
And if lebron averaged a triple dub.. Which he didnt.. Then that means kyrie is getting the ball to..
180 Mikeyyy
Kyrie, Klove, Lebron vs. Curry, KD, Klay
That’s pretty fair if you exclude the fact that Love never shows up and Curry>>Kyrie
