Wow, such a magical song and performance. I believe that she wrote that at 19 and played the piano on her first album. I did not know there was a live video of her on piano until now. I, myself, being a very amateur musician, can appreciate what she does here. Her vocal performance is truly stellar because she is singing the song and accompanying herself on piano. In other words, she is not singing to what a band is playing. She is singing how she wants to, controlling the tempo and dynamics of the piano playing herself. This live take allows for the wonderful variations that I hear! Also, I believe, near the end, she hits the wrong chord on the change. She pauses her vocals and works her way out of it vocally. So wonderful! Who wants perfection?! I prefer to see the human side of our great Lara Fabian. Thankfully, she is my musical muse from far beyond this side of the moon.
