There is another scene that may prove Pearl was the one who killed Pink Diamond. In the episode where the Rubies take Steven back to the moon base. We first learn that Pink Diamond was assassinated. If you look real closely at the gems reactions when one of the Rubies says this. Pearl gets the most visibly nervous. You could chalk this up to Pearl's character always being a worry wart but now I am not so sure.

@ Sugar Kookie. Do we even know if gem weapons can shatter other gems? I don't think they can.Why would the Crystal Gems use them so frequently if their weapons could potentially shatter the corrupted gems they fight? The Crystal Gems don't want to kill they use the "bubble" to keep corrupted gems safe until they can cure them. Why risk taking a gems life? WHY BOTHER HAVING REAL SWORDS that can kill gems that brake when you can make infinite weapons that can kill gems yourself that don't brake? There are lots of scenes in Steven Universe that show old battle fields with real non gem weapons why bother having them if they do nothing or are just for show? I think that is what makes Rose's sword so "special" it is a real weapon that can't kill gems. Remember Rose's gem weapon is a shield so Rose does need some form of offence for fighting.
earthboundkid1 but in SU characters are based around actual gems, as we clearly see throughout the entire series, and the ONLY thing that can CUT diamond is DIAMOND, so for a non diamond to scratch her, let alone shatter her, seems impossible to me
*spoiler for the video's conclusion* My biggest problem with Pearl being the culprit is that I doubt a gem who had shattered a diamond 5,000 years before would still think of herself as "nothing" and "not strong enough" and as "just a pearl" like she's shown time and again. Also, given how she worshiped Rose, it seems somewhat unlikely she'd do all of this to frame her. We've also never seen her shapeshift--not that she can't, but we haven't seen it. It seems somewhat more likely Pink's not actually shattered.
enginesummer99 some people have argued that Pearl doesn't shapeshift because of when she shape shifted and killed pink diamond. But I agree it's not that I beleive Pearl wouldn't shatter Pink Diamond if Rose asked her to but that it doesn't match her personality now, more to the point Rose would never ask Pearl to do that.
Not a Snake Maybe rose didn't tell pearl to do it. Maybe pearl found out that rose was ordered to kill pink diamond by someone and so pearl did it herself (as rose) so rose doesn't have to go through the horror of shattering another gem.

Not a Snake Yeah my theory is pink diamond either told rose to do it and low-key didnt want to be apart of the corruption on homeworld OR white (and or yellow) diamond(s) were plotting or talking about pink diamonds demise and so pink diamond decided to fake her death after hearing about this and she wanted rose to do it (rebellion leader) but rose denied cuz of her morals and so pearl did and so on goes my theory
I don't think Pearl would have done it is Rose refused to do it, she have done it if Rose said yes. I like the theory the Pink Diamond faked her death whether it was Pearl or Rose, it would account for all we know. I feel like only a diamond has the power to completely dismiss their entourage, and I have no doubt that Pink Diamonds whole thing was love so she probably wouldn't be so in to destroying the earth. You don't need to be a murder mystery buff to know Yellow Diamond is too obvious a culprit, there's plenty of evidence to suggest Blue Diamond's innocence and White Diamond is way too absent to be the culprit, Pink Diamond is the only possible culprit, the why is obvious all that matters is the how.
Everybody's joking saying "It was Onion who shattered Pink Diamond!" or "Onion IS Pink Diamond!" but honestly, wouldn't it be a twist if it WAS something to do with Onion?
He did seem more eager than anyone else to get away from Topaz and Aquamarine's ship. Heck, he dove headlong into the ocean without a second thought. After watching 'What's the use of feelin' Blue' a couple times, I too grew skeptical of YD being the culprit. She genuinely sounds heartbroken at the end of the song and as Jacob points out, being accused of fratricide would make anyone a might cranky.
I don't think it was yellow diamond that would be to obvious but I think she has a part in the crime judging by yellow pearls face in the trail when zircon accused the diamonds of shattering pink diamond and yellow diamond wanting to be done with the trial. I think it was white diamond that would be a twist. But if pearl ended up doing it that would be the biggest twist in the whole series, pearl is my favorite character and it would crazy if it was her judging by her reaction in "Back to the Moon" and reaction in the "Zoo" arc it's possible.
Gabriel Soto I totally agree. I think yellow poofed zircon because she got offended of her accusing her of such crimes. Another hint against yellow shattering pink is how pained yellow seems to be in the last few lines of what's the use of feeling (blue). I believe that yellow's hardness is a facade to cover up her emotions.

also a sapphire can tell the future, if a sapphire saw that pink diamond would be shattered by rose or someone of the rebellion , then pink diamond would have been altered and would either have more security or wouldn't be there at all, its kind of how in a episode garnet couldn't see peridot rebuild the communication hub , cause it wasnt peridot it was pearl, so if a sapphire would look into the future to see if her diamond would be hurt by someone of the rebellion, then she wouldn't see anything cause it wasnt someone from the rebellion

In order to respond to the "Eyeball" ruby statement, saying she saw how Rose Quartz shattered Pink Diamond, and taking this theory final statement we could say that Pearl might have shape-shifted into Rose Quartz to make her look guilty, and at the same time getting free from the diamond's command, I mean if you remember at the start of the series they said that all gems had the ability to shape-shift and so, it would make perfect sense if Pearl did it to shatter Pink Diamond.

Calling it now... Rainbow Quartz did it. Rose´s sword does look like a fusion weapon (hilt looks like a shield, blade looks like Pearls spear) and since its a physical weapon, Rose could have had it made to intimidate her enemies and remind herself of her and Pearls cruel actions.
Filip Zemiakovic that's a good theory!! Since they are most stable and homeworld doesn't see fusions fairly often and is seen from far distance, it could be thought as a taller build Rose Quartz, but it actually being Rainbow quartz. I likeeee, sounds snazzzzy.
I´m saying that Rose´s sword could be a replica of Rainbow Quartz´ sword forged by Bismuth. Maybe the Rainbow Quartz fusion couldnt last for a long after the shattering and Rose needed to prove that they have power. It could have served as a symbol of the rebelion on homeworld. A proof that even Roses have thorns... And what could be more intimidating than a gem holding the weapon that shattered a diamond, even if its just an imitation of the real thing (although this one was probably forged specifically to never do that again).
Someone she let through with her diamond, somebody no one would ever suspect, someone to be able to shape shift, and be able to shatter her even if uncompanied by yellow pearl.
Jaxson Davis72 I don't think it was Yellow. I think she was being genuine when she said she misses her. She deals with grief by being angry and wanting to get rid of all the memories of the one she loved, both good and bad. I liked how the diamonds seemed to show different ways of coping with death and I think it would be a shame if they made her guilty of killing Pink.
What if, Yellow Diamond accidentally popped one of the Rose Quartz bubbles from the human zoo area (yes they would still be bubbles since Rose was a recognized threat) and the Rose Quartz that was popped wanted revenge on Pink Diamond, so she shattered her? It might not even be our Rose that shattered her. It could be another Rose Quartz.
I really enjoyed this! it was great and I agree with your theory! it's persuasive without even having to point out (though I think it would even more helpful to note) Pearl has shown more than once to be extremely sensitive to the mention of Pink's shattering. Garnet even had to intervene telling Steven he was "upsetting Pearl" by pushing the issue.
if it's pearl it will destroy her character, during the whole show pearl lived in the past because of rose, in her character devolopement, she was learning to live in the present, and in the last one out of beach city, she finally did, if she shattered her, she would live in the past again. and her entire character devolopement would be useless
did you even read my comment? if she shattered her, it would because of rose, and she done with her now, the last one out of beach city was the final step for pearl, think of it, if she did it and someone discover it, she will act like she was in season 1 or 2, and that would be a huge throwback, it would be like extending her "rose phase" because it ended to soon. if the last one of beach city wasn't here it would be fine but it isn't. and also pearl has other problem
@mario gamer There is something we don't know. We don't know WHEN she was shattered. And I don't mean 'It happened 5000 years ago, stuuuupid.' I mean, we don't know if That her shattering is what ended the war and got Homeworld to leave, or if she was the first Gem to be shattered and what started the war in the first place. After all, they only pointed out that Rose was a Rebel, but didn't mention anything about there being a war with the Crystal Gems at the time. If it was at the end of the War, if it's what stopped the fighting, then I believe Pearl is indeed the one to break Pink Diamond. Namely because her rash emotions. She loves Roses and wants to do everything for her, to achieve her goals. And Rose's goal was to protect earth. But if Pink Diamond was based and living on Earth, they would never be safe. In a misguided attempt to please Rose, to achieve victory, to keep the planet safe... She would lash out and destroy Pink Diamond. But that does bring up a point... Namely, if she did, why would Rose let her back and keep her so close? She destroyed Bismush(can't remember the spelling.) For making a weapon that would shatter Gems, And no one else knew about it as Rose Destroyed her right after the reveal and no one else knew where she was. And if she was so against shattering Gems, she would never want to shatter a Diamond. Instead she would want to convert a Diamond over to her side, not shatter her. A lot about the situation doesn't make sense.
what if pink diamond was never shattered. Blue Diamond said she was shattered by a sword. Like bismuth said Rose's sword does not shatter gems but only destroys their physical shape. If it was Rose's sword she was never shattered. Rose could hiding pink diamond in the chest that is inside of lion's mane that hasn't been opened yet.
Hey, it's important to note: it seems that the Chrystal gems believe that rose did do it. So it's likely they weren't with her when it went down, and then rose told them she did it.
while I do think Pearl is an interesting suspect, and I can see reason why, I personally think it was White Diamond who officially shattered Pink Diamond. Although, I do think Rose Quartz might have poofed her and then handed her to White Diamond.
I believe that Pearl though is a very good answer... It wasnt her because if she had any royalty to rose quarts, she would never shatter a diamond even if necessary. The true suspect is BLUE diamond due to her emotions over it. Could she be feeling so much emotion due to her GUILT or because she knows that she will one day be suspected and proven guilty
Honestly I feel like the lonely blade movie in Stevens' universe is the ultimate clue to who shattered pink diamond, mainly because of Pearls comment on the villains reveal," it was so obvious, they were in the background of every fighting scene/scene and are even on the cover", possibly hinting at the fact that the one who started this all is a main character and we know them ???
As much as I think that most fan theories are overthinking plain old human error/ignorance/not giving a *bleep* on behalf of the people making the show, these theory videos are insanely entertaining, as I have a fair few fan theories of my own.
There is a theory that she wanted to be good and started the rebellion (pink Diamond) that probably was yellow diamond's motive, since she acts like a leader, and is eldest of the diamonds. Yellow notices this and then shatters her because she created the rebellion. She also removed her from the logo. It all makes sense.
I think pearl makes a lot of sense since as well as what was stated in the video but also whenever pink diamonds shattering is mentioned, pearl gets very emotional, as if she has regret

I think our Pearl was pink diamond's personal attendant pearl. She has pink colored hair, especially in her younger days, just like the yellow pearl and blue pearl match with their individual diamond. At the very least, like rose, I think she's a gem that was under pink diadmond's rule on homeworld
i have never seen a single episode of Steven Universe and based off the general descriptions I know about the characters and the world I called Pearl being the one immediately exactly because of her angst over being a servant and ease of slipping under the radar ninja style

Either Blue Diamond was at the scene of the crime where Pink was shattered, or she merely got mad at Steven for getting the weapon "wrong" because she knew that he wasn't really Rose Quartz (Because he doesn't look like Rose, and acts nothing like her.)
i love Pink Lars, because now he will have to change, he has changed, he became tougher and stronger and now he feels as if he has to be better, because he has been given a second chance to live.
My guess is White Diamond. Pearl is a close second, though. While I do believe that Rose would be likely to take the blame for Pearl, or to order Pearl to do Rose's dirty work for her, I highly doubt Pearl would let Steven take the blame for her. White Diamond seems like the most likely culprit. Like the Zircon said, "... Someone with the authority to cover it up! Someone like...one of [the Diamonds]!" White Diamond shattered Pink Diamond, framing Rose so as not to soil her own name.
Personally, my first guess was pearl. But I recently decided on white diamond after watching season 5. It just made more sense that she did it as she's so detached from everything that goes on with the crystal gems so much so that she didn't even attend the trial. But I guess that's just my opinion
I really like the pearl theory, the a diamond being guilty would be a really interesting, it's just a bit to obvious to be a twist after this miniseries. Then again, during this mini-series, it was a huge one.

Pearl didn't shatter Pink Diamond. Everyone keeps saying it but I highly doubt that she would. She's just too loyal to Rose. Also, everyone knew what Rose's pearl looked like, so that means they would have seen her coming. If you want to use the argument that she looks so surprised and scared when the ruby says Rose shattered the pink diamond then that won't work. She only looked that way because she probably didn't want Steven to know about this. So it couldn't have been Peal.
I think the Pearl in the Rhondite Permafusion was PDs pearl. As for OUR pearl I think she was WDs pearl that bonded with Rose, who wanted to save earth but struggled to bc of PD. So, Pearl helped her with her newly honed sword skills (as you said), and shattered her.
I think Pink Pearl shattered Pink diamond as a request of White Diamond and Yellow knows, but stays quiet for Blue. someone we haven't met, someone with motive like our Pearl, someone who could go up in command and someone that could shape shift and pass as Rose.

Pearl is the most fitting, and recent episodes seem to reinforce it, however, I wonder why the dimonds wouldn't replace/destroy all of their perls, like they did with the other Roses and if pearl has the means to shatter pink dimond, she's not very powerful in terms of strength.
Blue Diamond seems pretty likely, since in "What's the Use of Feeling, Blue?" Yellow Diamond sings, "Drowning in all this regret/wouldn't you rather forget her?" What would Blue Diamond have to regret if she didn't do it? And if her grief is as extreme as it is, wouldn't it make sense if she'd done it, and then deeply regretted it afterwards? This could have been why she ao intensely stated that the weapon was a sword, as she was reacting to the unpleasant memory. After all, she would have been easily able to shatter another diamond with a sword with their height similarities, and given a diamond's position in power, it would make sense that they would have access to weapons that could shatter other gems. And that could have been why Yellow Diamond poofed the Zircons, since Blue Diamond was already in so much grief, she didn't want to make it escalate any further than it already did. After all, Yellow Diamond does care for Blue Diamond, as we've seen multiple times, so she may have wanted to try and preserve her mental health before Zircon made things any worse.
I believe it was a job by yellow diamond. it looms like blue can affect the emotions of other even strong enough to make a fellow Damon cry. so with the grief and anger of the loss of pink. her emotions of anger and revenge is most likely what made the other diamonds use the corruption ray from blues excess of emotions.
Remember gems can shapeshift they could have shapshifted to look like anyone they choose (not the same color but still) if they have seen them anyone could be it literally anyone they could have shapeshifted into someone like a pearl to get by then shapeshift into a rose quartz to frame them (to cover it up) I mean I personally think it's yellow diamond usually someone so Power hungry would do anything for power which means promising something to gem, bribing them, threating to poof them into doing anything so to me it's still pretty vague who it could be it literally could be anyone but I think it's yellow diamond
Part of me wants to think Yellow did it because Pink was planning to surrender Earth to the rebels, and that would be exhibiting a weakness Yellow couldn't abide.

Agreed 100% on Lars. I couldn't stand that guy, partially because it seemed like his character was static and he just wasn't going to grow or change. Then... holy crap. Those last four episodes, and now suddenly I... I LIKE Lars??? What is the world coming to?!
i don't think its blue diamond because when zircon said 'no one is asking how she was shattered!' and blue says 'i asked that!' and she seemed very genuine
We speculate blindly, because we've only been given a fraction of the puzzle. Let's say Rose was captured. The Gems fall back to plan a rescue mission. A stricken Pearl refuses to wait. A rescue mission turns south and an altercation takes place. Going against every Rose Stands for, Pearl still shatters Pink to protect Rose. Rose, in all her aloof Rose wisdom, decides to take the blame. Maybe just to protect Pearl from homeworld lashing back. The mystery will unravel as we learn the narrative of the murder. That said, I think it's Yellow. If it's pearl, we get a small character arc. If it's yellow, we get so many possibilities for narratives going forward.
It's strange how whenever Steven feels guilty or when he turned himself in to Aquamarine pearl felt the worst and always cried. Pearl is prob the culprit
Rose is probably the one that actually killed Oink Diamond but she had collaborated with another Diamond and Blue was left out of it because she would stop it from happening

I'd like to point out the mural from the Pyramid Temple. While it doesn't show a sword, it does show Rose wielding a pink diamond against a gem whom kind of resembles White Diamond. Maybe Rose defeated (poofed) Pink Diamond and used her gem to defeat Homeworld's armies? Shattering Pink Diamond in the process? A gem-powered sword, perhaps (like Lapis Lazuli trapped in the mirror)? Pink Diamond could have even been in on it, seeing it as the only way to protect the Earth. And using a gem as part of a weapon would seem particularly heinous (Blue's reaction). Although I do get the sense Yellow Diamond is somehow involved.
Pearl is the right hand of Rose, so she would be almost as Infamous as her, so even if she land the killing blow, they would have tried to capture and probably would have.
I started this episode thinking "Whatever he says I'll still think it's yellow diamond cause she would kill pink taking her off the board then throwing blue into depression becoming the strongest gem." I thought that was a good argument but he proved me WRONG
honestly, I had a feeling that the stuff making yellow diamond seem suspicious might have been too obvious and that it was just there to distract us from who it really is. I can totally agree with the idea of pearl doing it. oops.

WHY BOTHER HAVING REAL SWORDS that can kill gems that brake when you can make infinite weapons that can kill gems yourself that don't brake? There are lots of scenes in Steven Universe that show old battle fields with real non gem weapons why bother having them if they do nothing or are just for show? I think that is what makes Rose's sword so "special" it is a real weapon that can't kill gems. Remember Rose's gem weapon is a shield so Rose does need some form of offence for fighting.

*spoiler for the video's conclusion* My biggest problem with Pearl being the culprit is that I doubt a gem who had shattered a diamond 5,000 years before would still think of herself as "nothing" and "not strong enough" and as "just a pearl" like she's shown time and again. Also, given how she worshiped Rose, it seems somewhat unlikely she'd do all of this to frame her. We've also never seen her shapeshift--not that she can't, but we haven't seen it. It seems somewhat more likely Pink's not actually shattered.
enginesummer99 some people have argued that Pearl doesn't shapeshift because of when she shape shifted and killed pink diamond. But I agree it's not that I beleive Pearl wouldn't shatter Pink Diamond if Rose asked her to but that it doesn't match her personality now, more to the point Rose would never ask Pearl to do that.

I don't think Pearl would have done it is Rose refused to do it, she have done it if Rose said yes. I don't think it was yellow diamond that would be to obvious but I think she has a part in the crime judging by yellow pearls face in the trail when zircon accused the diamonds of shattering pink diamond and yellow diamond wanting to be done with the trial. I think it was white diamond that would be a twist. But if pearl ended up doing it that would be the biggest twist in the whole series, pearl is my favorite character and it would crazy if it was her judging by her reaction in "Back to the Moon" and reaction in the "Zoo" arc it's possible.

Another hint against yellow shattering pink is how pained yellow seems to be in the last few lines of what's the use of feeling (blue). I believe that yellow's hardness is a facade to cover up her emotions.

Rose´s sword does look like a fusion weapon (hilt looks like a shield, blade looks like Pearls spear) and since its a physical weapon, Rose could have had it made to intimidate her enemies and remind herself of her and Pearls cruel actions.

She deals with grief by being angry and wanting to get rid of all the memories of the one she loved, both good and bad. I liked how the diamonds seemed to show different ways of coping with death and I think it would be a shame if they made her guilty of killing Pink.
What if, Yellow Diamond accidentally popped one of the Rose Quartz bubbles from the human zoo area (yes they would still be bubbles since Rose was a recognized threat) and the Rose Quartz that was popped wanted revenge on Pink Diamond, so she shattered her? It might not even be our Rose that shattered her. It could be another Rose Quartz.

I really enjoyed this! it was great and I agree with your theory! it's persuasive without even having to point out (though I think it would even more helpful to note) Pearl has shown more than once to be extremely sensitive to the mention of Pink's shattering. There is something we don't know. We don't know WHEN she was shattered. And I don't mean 'It happened 5000 years ago, stuuuupid.' I mean, we don't know if That her shattering is what ended the war and got Homeworld to leave, or if she was the first Gem to be shattered and what started the war in the first place. After all, they only pointed out that Rose was a Rebel, but didn't mention anything about there being a war with the Crystal Gems at the time.
If it was at the end of the War, if it's what stopped the fighting, then I believe Pearl is indeed the one to break Pink Diamond. Namely because her rash emotions. She loves Roses and wants to do everything for her, to achieve her goals. And Rose's goal was to protect earth. But if Pink Diamond was based and living on Earth, they would never be safe. In a misguided attempt to please Rose, to achieve victory, to keep the planet safe... She would lash out and destroy Pink Diamond.
But that does bring up a point... Namely, if she did, why would Rose let her back and keep her so close? She destroyed Bismush(can't remember the spelling.) For making a weapon that would shatter Gems, And no one else knew about it as Rose Destroyed her right after the reveal and no one else knew where she was. And if she was so against shattering Gems, she would never want to shatter a Diamond. Instead she would want to convert a Diamond over to her side, not shatter her.
A lot about the situation doesn't make sense.

There is a theory that she wanted to be good and started the rebellion (pink Diamond) that probably was yellow diamond's motive, since she acts like a leader, and is eldest of the diamonds. Yellow notices this and then shatters her because she created the rebellion. She also removed her from the logo. It all makes sense.
Garnet is probably protecting pearl, every time Steven mentions pink diamond she looks pretty shook up about it.

I think our Pearl was pink diamond's personal attendant pearl. She has pink colored hair, especially in her younger days, just like the yellow pearl and blue pearl match with their individual diamond. At the very least, like rose, I think she's a gem that was under pink diadmond's rule on homeworld

My guess is White Diamond. Pearl is a close second, though. While I do believe that Rose would be likely to take the blame for Pearl, or to order Pearl to do Rose's dirty work for her, I highly doubt Pearl would let Steven take the blame for her.

Personally, my first guess was pearl. But I recently decided on white diamond after watching season 5. It just made more sense that she did it as she's so detached from everything that goes on with the crystal gems so much so that she didn't even attend the trial. But I guess that's just my opinion
I really like the pearl theory, the a diamond being guilty would be a really interesting, it's just a bit to obvious to be a twist after this miniseries. Then again, during this mini-series, it was a huge one.
Maybe Pink Diamond was starting to differ off, and White Diamond was all like 'Nah fam, we don't need that'. Requested an audience with her privately, when Pink Diamond stepped off, DEATH! Pearl didn't shatter Pink Diamond. Everyone keeps saying it but I highly doubt that she would. She's just too loyal to Rose. Also, everyone knew what Rose's pearl looked like, so that means they would have seen her coming. If you want to use the argument that she looks so surprised and scared when the ruby says Rose shattered the pink diamond then that won't work. She only looked that way because she probably didn't want Steven to know about this. So it couldn't have been Peal.

As for OUR pearl I think she was WDs pearl that bonded with Rose, who wanted to save earth but struggled to bc of PD. So, Pearl helped her with her newly honed sword skills (as you said), and shattered her.
I think Pink Pearl shattered Pink diamond as a request of White Diamond and Yellow knows, but stays quiet for Blue. someone we haven't met, someone with motive like our Pearl, someone who could go up in command and someone that could shape shift and pass as Rose.

Pearl could have also shape-shifted into Rose's form right before she attacked. This might be why she doesn't like shape-shifting as well.
Pearl is the most fitting, and recent episodes seem to reinforce it, however, I wonder why the dimonds wouldn't replace/destroy all of their perls, like they did with the other Roses and if pearl has the means to shatter pink dimond, she's not very powerful in terms of strength.

Blue Diamond seems pretty likely, since in "What's the Use of Feeling, Blue?" Yellow Diamond sings, "Drowning in all this regret/wouldn't you rather forget her?" What would Blue Diamond have to regret if she didn't do it? And if her grief is as extreme as it is, wouldn't it make sense if she'd done it, and then deeply regretted it afterwards? This could have been why she ao intensely stated that the weapon was a sword, as she was reacting to the unpleasant memory. After all, she would have been easily able to shatter another diamond with a sword with their height similarities, and given a diamond's position in power, it would make sense that they would have access to weapons that could shatter other gems.
And that could have been why Yellow Diamond poofed the Zircons, since Blue Diamond was already in so much grief, she didn't want to make it escalate any further than it already did. After all, Yellow Diamond does care for Blue Diamond, as we've seen multiple times, so she may have wanted to try and preserve her mental health before Zircon made things any worse.

We speculate blindly, because we've only been given a fraction of the puzzle.
Let's say Rose was captured. The Gems fall back to plan a rescue mission. A stricken Pearl refuses to wait. A rescue mission turns south and an altercation takes place. Going against every Rose Stands for, Pearl still shatters Pink to protect Rose.
Rose, in all her aloof Rose wisdom, decides to take the blame. Maybe just to protect Pearl from homeworld lashing back.
The mystery will unravel as we learn the narrative of the murder. That said, I think it's Yellow. If it's pearl, we get a small character arc. If it's yellow, we get so many possibilities for narratives going forward.
It's strange how whenever Steven feels guilty or when he turned himself in to Aquamarine pearl felt the worst and always cried. Pearl is prob the culprit

I'd like to point out the mural from the Pyramid Temple. While it doesn't show a sword, it does show Rose wielding a pink diamond against a gem whom kind of resembles White Diamond. Maybe Rose defeated (poofed) Pink Diamond and used her gem to defeat Homeworld's armies? Shattering Pink Diamond in the process? A gem-powered sword, perhaps (like Lapis Lazuli trapped in the mirror)? Pink Diamond could have even been in on it, seeing it as the only way to protect the Earth. And using a gem as part of a weapon would seem particularly heinous (Blue's reaction).
Although I do get the sense Yellow Diamond is somehow involved.
I've personally kept this theory alive forever. Also, our Pearl is Pink Diamond's pear. You'll see it one day...
Pearl is the right hand of Rose, so she would be almost as Infamous as her, so even if she land the killing blow, they would have tried to capture and probably would have.
I started this episode thinking "Whatever he says I'll still think it's yellow diamond cause she would kill pink taking her off the board then throwing blue into depression becoming the strongest gem." I thought that was a good argument but he proved me WRONG
honestly, I had a feeling that the stuff making yellow diamond seem suspicious might have been too obvious and that it was just there to distract us from who it really is. I can totally agree with the idea of pearl doing it. oops.
