"When you find that one person who connects you to the world, you become someone different. Someone better. When that person is taken from you, what do you become then?" This line hit me so hard
Not only did it hit me really hard, but it resonated with me. Such a person would be your only reason for existence. When you don't have that person in your life, what is your purpose? Your reason for living? How do you go on without that connection to the world and the inability to actually take your own life? Not everyone in such a situation gets a friend like Finch to give them that purpose again. So, what do you become then? That disconnected person from the world again? After being shown that connecting with the world is wonderful and magical? After knowing that the only way you were ever able to make that connection to the world was through someone else who likely thrust it upon you without remorse or permission and it was wonderful? What do you become then?
I know.... exactly. When my wife was alive, our marriage together made me a better person. When she passed away 6 years ago, half of my identity was gone, it vanished. "When you lose that someone, then who do you become then?"; I get everything Reese is saying. It's okay now, or sort of okay, but it's been a long walk through darkness with Christ my Savior by my side, holding me together. I will see her again, I will be with her again...
The most dangerous thing in the world, is a man who has nothing left to lose, who doesn't fear pain or death anymore because everything he lived for is taken from him.
Anyone who has been in deep love with someone and has to let them go to be with someone else can feel Reese's pain through his words. That's what makes this scene so emotional because it's so realistic
Hands down the best show ever made. Very realistic too with deep messages about friendships, relationships, the government, the surveillance society we live in, morality. Best show ever. The only thing that let this show down was when they introduced Samaritan.
@@blanktrigger8863 i think what rs84 means, is the way samaritan was executed and presented. Reece took him to a Mexican prison. It is heavily implied in the episode where a guy was relentlessly hunting his girlfriend and trying to abuse/kill her.
