The spoil is such an eye sore 😅 otherwise this car is BEAUTIFUL

Yes, not my first choice, it was already on when we got the car. It does make it stand out a but, but I prefer 67 and 68 Cougars without the wing. Thanks!

why do these guys always allow the gas tanks to go so low, years of dirty fuel, use your heads

We only run non ethanol fuel in these cars which is hard to get in our area. Hadn't received a resupply of it at the time of this video but still needed to take photos and video of the car. I like to think we're using our heads since we don't use ethanol fuel 😜. To me ethanol fuel is worse than letting the tank get low. It eats stuff up on these cars. Thanks for checking out the video!

Cars a 68, is it original survivor ? perhaps it has a new gas tank . Some people run gas to low often to make sure fuel filter picks up garbage instead of always topping of Allowing build up which will ultimately get picked up when car is run low . I let my cars run low often and never even had a clogged fuel filter in 45 years of car ownership including 67 cougar amongst cars of period I bought starting in 80s that were original .
Nice car , not sure about color and auto trans makes it a car of no interest to leave stock but the body looks pretty crisp . Car seems to be well taken care of. Haven't had old car in a while , having to find no alcohol gas all the time seems a pain .

@@RandyJM21it's not a true survivor, has been repainted and some parts seem to have been replaced. Hard to tell if the tank is original or not from the looks of it. Thanks for sharing your experience about running the fuel low, seems there are different thoughts on this. Thanks for the compliments. I think alot of the Cougars were automatic, since they were supposed to be the "luxury" version of the Mustang. Getting non-ethanol fuel can sometimes be cumbersome sometimes, but it seems to help alot in these older cars.

@@callawayclassics they were mostly autos . My 67 as a luxury mustang :) had no PS PB PW no AC and only 1 option on a 289 2 barrel . It had the 4 spd instead of the more common 3 spd for MTs. Manual steering feels connected and fine on small block with no options / light. Loved that car despite its low power and options . Being light and having 4 spd helped the low po 289 not feel so doggy .

@@RandyJM21 I guess not 100% luxury then haha :) No power steering isn't that bad, so long as you are moving haha. Parking is another story. Interesting that someone sprung for the 4 speed option but nothing else. What color was yours? Do you remember what gear ration you had?
