    Just want to thank you for having this video It was immensely helpful. I have an '09 Saturn Outlook.. only difference I found was that the yellow plug for the airbag connection was a subject of a recall and they removed the plug and spliced the wires together. Thus I was unable to remove the seat from the vehicle. But no problem using your guide I will still be able to remove the bottom seat cover that I eventually replaced with the seat in the car.

    Life saver! Had a hell of a time with the front clips on the bottom seat, until I watched this. Still pretty tough to do, but got it done and it looks great.

    I recommend plastic or none marling tools for plastic covers instead of screw drivers. But not everyone has em so screw drivers are fine 👍🏻

    Hey, thanks for the great video! Learned a lot from you guys. I got a question. My I have the same seat in it rocks especially when you take off. Is there any nuts and bolts, screws or anything that I need to tighten up?

    10:31 instructions are pretty straight forward lol i can’t seem to take those clips off I’ve tried the exact same technique as seen here but have had no luck. Maybe I’m pushing against it with the flathead the wrong way or I’m positioning it incorrectly? Any advice?

    Realize this is an older video but do you guys have any info on replacing seat heating elements on the 07-16 GMC Acadia? My wife's 16 Denali driver's seat heater only turns on for 5 seconds and then shuts off. Doesn't even get the "click" sound in the module. Passenger seat is fine.

    Great video! Do you have one for the second row or is it about the same as the front seats?

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  Рік тому

      Very similar to the front row, but the backrest covers will be slightly different due to the armrests and the pull tab to flip the seat forward.

    Hii again, Im all set to do this, and then I went to remove the seat, and realized I will have to cut wires due to the recall repair for the airbag connector. Do I simply disconnect the neg battery cable before cutting to avoid airbag deployment? And, if I only disconnect the negative batt cable, but leave the positive one connected, would I be able to use one of those 9v battery "memory keepers" or would that potentially deploy airbag since positive is still hooked up? Trying to be super safe.

    If I get just the bottom, will it match the factory top well enough? My only damage is the driver's seat bottom for now.

  • @robertbair1485
    @robertbair1485 6 років тому

    As an FYI, if you have an Enclave, Acadia, or Traverse that has had the recall repair for the airbag, the connector for the airbag is gone and the wires are soldered together where the connector formally was. The recall eliminated the connector to reduce resistance in the connection to prevent false airbag failure indications. This means you cannot remove the seat from the car unless you cut and re-solder the wires. I chose to just unbolt the seat but not remove from the car and rotate it around in the car to work on being careful not to stretch or break the airbag wires.

      mts0628 ...I was replacing the bottom seat leather. The leather was actually fine..it was the vinyl on the side panels that had cracked. If I'm had not cheaper out on using leather on the sides as well, it would have been fine

      @@TheSeatShop so those plugs is all i need to disconect to disable airbag i dont have to disconect battery?

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  5 років тому +1

      @@oOohdaddy that is a really good question, so removing the battery is a step that can be taken if you would like but it is not necessary. We are not trying to be funny but disconnecting your battery anytime you are working on your vehicle is recommended, even changing the oil. We have been working on Airbag seats for many years now and think this is just an extra step but if you want to be extra cautious then definitely take that step.

      @TheSeatShop  6 років тому +1

      The hog ring pliers in this video we have had for a very long time and honestly, do not remember where we got them from... but you can most likely find them at your local hardware store we are not sure where you are from so we wouldn't know what is around you. Or you can definitely keep searching online for some, we do sell hog ring pliers on our site but they are meant for a one time use. We do sell the hog rings we use in our videos and in our installations here is a link to see both - www.theseatshop.com/store/accessories/

    I was looking on the website for this product for my 2011 traverse, but Traverse is not an option. That seat looks identical to my seats.

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  5 років тому

      Hey Justin, according to our initial R&D, these covers should match the 2009 - 2012 Traverse LT, except that your Traverse will not have the double stitch down the center of the seat. Since we haven't finished R&D on the panel measurements, we haven't listed the Traverse yet.

    Can u tell me how to disconnect driver side heated seats in 2011 chevy traverse..it keeps coming on by itself for past 2weeks

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  5 років тому +1

      We would hate to guide you the wrong way since we have not done the R&D on heaters for the 2011 Traverse but it does sound like either your control module or door panel control might be going bad. You can follow the heating element wire connection coming from your bottom seat cushion to your control module since it should be the only wire coming out of the cover/foam cushion you can then disconnect the quick connect and test the heaters.

      You are correct, this video is just for the install process, some people like to steam the covers and others do not like to steam them and let the sun do the work. But here is a video showing how to steam if anyone is interested in doing so - ua-cam.com/video/FS-7jI35now/v-deo.html
