He was able to take the story of The Odyssey and turn it into a beautifully made musical soundtrack that I hope one day gets to be a stage production or a film. Seriously, check him out, it's great stuff.
I should have released this sooner, but I didn't know this soundtrack existed till sometime after this song came out.

Also I love how the literal god Poseidon tells Odysseus and Eurelichos that they fucked up big time and the two just shrug at each other

Poseidon has a bit of an anger problem, and mostly (not always) cools off after a little bit of earthquakes and storms. They were probably just like "eh, I don't know why he's mad. Whatever it is he'll calm down soon," not realizing he was justifiably mad which makes his temper way worse and last way longer

For me it was more like: "Uhh, Ody? What did you do to anger him?"
Poseidon turning into a horse brought me so much joy. the attention to mythology was perfect

GOD that genuine fucking fuuuuury from Poseidon after Ody's "apology", you can feel that hatred. So good!
It wasn't even a bad apology, it was just tone deaf. Poseidon is trying to teach him how his sense of mercy is misplaced, and Ody responds by saying 'we didn't want to hurt him, we weren't merciful *enough*'. Poseidon doesn't care that his son got hurt, he cares that his son has to live as a cripple instead of dying a noble death.

@@seasnaill2589 That and his apology doesn't fall in line with what he did. If he truly did it just to escape then why did he reveal his name after getting out of the cave in a boastful way. Had he kept his pride in check and not tried to "Send a message" revealing his name then this whole thing could have likely been avoided

This has got to be the most disrespectful way for Poseidon to beat on Odesseus.
And to think all this could have been avoided had Odysseus just managed to keep his pride in check and not revealed his name to "send a message" once they got out of the blinded cyclops' cave. I think that is the reason why Poseidon rage seems to ramp up after Odysseus' apology because it doesn't line up with what he actually did.
Yup! Also because of the dishonor it came with it. Had Odysseus killed the cyclops, that's an honorable epic tale that links to Poseidon and exalts him, as his son would be a great enemy downed by a hero. But instead, he was left in shame and maimed, by extension shaming Poseidon as his son could not even be seen as a true enemy. Compassion is for those that cannot fight, but to show compassion to a worthy enemy was an insult in Ancient Greece.
Poseidon turning into a horse to beat the crap out of Odysseus is goofy in the best possible way I love it.
The the more I sit down, the more realize it makes sense.A God that can turn to a horse.Horses are terrifying in real life.I'd see what wild horses do to each other.So a pissed off.God one no thank you

And YOU make Ody's sadness for his crew seem genuine... most times it seems like a trick to stall for time with oceanman

Odysseous holding his hand out to that man in the water calling captain was my favourite part. Both because it showed off the ruthlessness and because it was such a turn around by the time Thunder Bringer comes.

SO GOOD. Odysseus getting beat up by a horse was not on my bingo card, but it's amazing. I love how Poseidon shapeshifts throughout this rather than just being massive and intimidating the whole time. It adds a lot of energy to the song.

I haven't seen an animatic where Poseidon PERSONALLY beats up Odysseus so its interesting to see. And seeing the faces of the crew as the God of the Sea rained hell upon them? Haunting. This is amazing 😍
Wooow!! Your style is simpler than some other animatics, but that allows for so much character moments! Poseidon getting annoyed, Eury not knowing what's happening, there are some really good, yet subtle, reactions. Also, the way Poseidon swings his trident is awesome! And making his hair and beard into octopus tentacles!! Very good design decisions, thumbs up to you

Awesome, always like it when a 'Ruthlessness' animatic includes horses, either Poseidon taking the form of one or the waved looking like them since Poseidon is also the god of horses
Love the way Poseidon's face is shadowed during Odysseus lines, gives a more terrifying look
i love how you added the horse transformation thing. its such a weird thing that most people forget Poseidon is also the god of horses. most people forget he was more then just the ocean so seeing him trampling the prince was a treat for me

It's more cartoonish than what I'm used to but it lets the animatic get away with much more than the more realistic ones! And the timinig with the beats? DAAMN! I love it!!!

Probably one of the best Ruthlessness animatic out there! I was already considering getting Ruthlessness related tattoo but your animatic makes me want it even more. It's super fun, I love everything about it and the drawing is just gorgeous!
The thing I love the most about your animatic is your characters' facial expressions, especially on Horse Poseidon (cuz that's tricky to do well on an animal face!), this is one of the few I've seen that makes it seem like Odysseus' horror at losing hundreds of men all at once wasn't just a ploy to cover up his opening the wind bag, and I loved how you actually get to see the characters crying out for their captain during the section when Poseidon is drowning everyone. I think it was watching your version when I realized that was actually present in the song cuz I just didn't hear it before.
One thing you can count on is ody getting his ass beat in a ruthlessness animatic 😂😂😂😂 but this is great🎉❤.
