- Recapping my trip to Tampa Bay Comic Con this past weekend along with a couple other local shows. The title says it all!

Mere seconds into the video you earned an instant subscribe due to the Tribe CQ background tunes. Hope that can continue. Great trade, and nice ASM pickups. Enjoyed your video!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it. Love Tribe and 90’s hip hop so there will definitely be more of that!
Fellow picky collector here! It can be frustrating to be picky, but it also means you are proud of all the books in your collection. I collect high grade raw silver and bronze books from Marvel and try to find them for good value. The books are out there, but it takes patience, persistence, and discipline. You are right, some shows are barren and you basically strike out, but better to leave your bullets for when you do actually find something good. Great books in your hauls, seems like we have similar tastes. Daredevil is my all time favorite followed by Silver Surfer and Black Panther. Curious if you have a favorite character/title?
Awesome! Very cool to hear we have the same taste, and I appreciate the thoughtful comment! I totally agree that even though you come up empty handed sometimes, it's way more gratifying when you keep your standards high and find what you're looking for. Also makes for a much nicer collection ultimately!
As far as favorite titles and characters, I've always loved X-Men and Spider-Man since I was a 90's kid. When I first got back into collecting I was very into bronze age X-Men. Now I'm collecting a lot of silver age ASM and Fantastic Four. Also love the titles you mentioned and many others. Cool to connect though! Keep in touch 🤜🤛
@@NearMintNandoWow, a lot in common here too! Hard to find great deals at conventions but the comradery is awesome. Love the TCQ instrumentals as well.
@@dansxmencomics good taste in comics AND music! Respect! 🙌🏽
If you ever want to invest a mini vacation and go to a great con consider Heroes con in Charlotte NC . Best con I have been to.
That’s what I’ve heard! I do want to make the trip to check it out sometime. Have also heard that Baltimore Comic Con and Terrificon are two of the better ones for collectors.
Would have done that trade also. Great looking 7.0 and The ASM flood cover is a beauty
I’m the same way. I would go to the firt show, but thinking “I could get a better deal at the next show” and walk out with nothing. Don’t feel bad we all do that.
Great recap. Sounds like a fruitful trip. Lots of good finds.
Thank you and yes, for sure! I’ll admit I was being a bit dramatic by saying it was a fail, but I guess my expectations for this show were a little higher than they should have been. Regardless it was cool to be there and came back with some good books!
Yeah.. I agree.. Tampa Bay Comic Con is not what it used to be.. did it back in the early days when it wasn't so big.. I would've kept the F F. 51.. but to each their own.. like the video.. subbed
Thanks man! I have another copy of FF 51 otherwise I probably would have hung onto it.
@@NearMintNando good on you man 😁
Night Phantom. Great book. Also those sub mariners and TTA. Excellent pickups. Enjoy the art. Enjoy that old comic smell. IMO those books way better than a bronze ASM. Nice video.
Can’t get enough of that old comic smell! Love Bronze Age books, but it definitely feels a bit more special when you find a really nice copy of a Silver Age book.
I live an hour from Tampa, I went too. Calling that a "Comic Con" is a joke. There was maybe 6 real comic dealers. Most of the booths sold new Manga junk and cosplay garbage. 10 years ago TBCC was awesome, now it's sad. I took over $1,000 in cash plus my credit card and I spent less than $70. Even the dollar boxes were terrible. The highlight was meeting and talking to Giancarlo Esposito and getting him to sign a prototype BB fig. He was a cool dude. I guess online is the only real place to buy books now. Cons are sad for us comic book collectors now.
Have to agree with a lot of this! There have been a couple smaller local shows that have surprised me recently, but this one definitely was not it for me. Back to hunting online for now!
We had one like that. “Silicon” with Adam Savage. Billed as having comics, there were exactly 1 1/2 comics sellers, out of something like 80 booths.
Great vid, just subbed!
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Bro. Great video. Subbed.
My man 🤜🏽🤛🏽
Tampa Bay Comic Con used to be a great show with great guest artists and celebrities. You had several national comic dealers there as well as some good local dealers. It's sad to see what has happened to the show. I didn't waste my money attending TBCC this year after what I saw there last year. The show is just not for comic book fans. It's become just another pop culture show. Megacon in Orlando still attracts some national dealers, so that's the show to attend if you want to buy comics.
That’s a shame! Not sure why but I thought I had heard it was a good show for collectors, but I guess I was wrong. MegaCon is definitely much more of a major show, but the prices on books were a little crazy last time I went. Usually to get expected with major shows like that.
I am no collector, but FF #51 is considered to be the best single issue book in the Lee Kirby run. Absolutely essential for each FF collector. As a FF silver age fan, it brokes my heart that you sold it ;)
Ahh I didn't even realize it was so highly regarded! Personally I love that cover and think it's really underrated. Don't worry though...I only traded it because I had just gotten a nicer copy a couple weeks before then!
Looking for Comics? Heroes Con 2024 your welcome
Anyone who has nas halftime as the background music gets a thumbs up from me
