BIG fan of when the ASOIAF channels team up like this, would prefer the next book to just come out, but I’ll listen to these guys all day long until it does.

ACoK is my favourite book in the series so far. From my research though, it seems the community ranks it amongst the lowest, usually with only AFfC being ranked lower. Really sad that such a dark, atmospheric and transitional book is so unappreciated. Its like the book is recognised as merely a stepping stone, required to advance the plot to ASoS and not much else.

Jaqen probably decided to recruit Arya around the time that she was deliberating over the first two deaths. The very fact that she was so careful with who deserved death would have counted in her favour as a possible Faceless Man. Even though she has a kill list, she is extremely reserved when given a tool via Jaqen for causing death. She has a lot more self-control at this point than she gets credit for.
Oh, and a little comment on "Tyrion Targ." I think the point of the rumour is a literary one, it's a driver of the main conflict between Tywin and the son who is most like him. Nobody else seems to be thinking about this except Tywin, so it really doesn't matter whether Aerys cuckolded him or not (I think it didn't happen personally) because the end result is the same. Either it happened and Tywin is humiliated, or it didn't and it still looked very much like it had, STILL humiliating Tywin. The shadow of a doubt on Tyrion's parentage is a continuation of his shame over the way that he and Johanna were treated publicly. But yeah, the funny thing is that he's the only person in Westeros who seems to care that this insult even occurred! Nobody else mentions it and there's just the one comment from Tywin that we base this whole theory on. So a theory about Tyrion Targ has more value as an examination of the social dynamics around King Aerys than it does as a judgment of whether or not it's true.
Well he was rumored to have a tail when he was born. 😂

Hi Robert, after finishing all of your videos, i'm currently on the Live. I reached Live 105/226 on the main channel, and i'm so glad i still have like 200/300 hours of fabolous GOT/ASOIAF content to listen.
Some nights i couldn't sleep if i didn't have your work to calm me down and remind me that life also has pleasant things to offer.

I thought of a question. How did the first men and children get to the isle of faces to have the pact? Walk across a land bridge or use a boat? Boats seems unlike either of them. If either group had boats, why would smashing the arm or flooding the neck do much of anything?

Clash and Feast are my favorites. Clash, bc of how it expanded the world and the secondary characters (I never finished Skyrim bc “side quests “); and Feast, as it’s the most underrated book, so far, but I loved the ride along with Cersei and her struggles with power.
And i always preferred the John Snow story arc over Danny’s. IMO, she’s an overrated and, at times, petulant, character.
Maybe it’s that I’m a 40 y/o male that identifies more closely to Jon’s struggles over those of a teenage dragon queen.
Let’s not forget the Dog’s role in Arya’s growth
