William Shakespeare: The Life and Times Of (FULL MOVIE)

  • There’s no name better known in the world of Literature than William Shakespeare, and whatever your feelings about such dramatic offerings as “Romeo and Juliet”, “Twelfth Night”, “King Lear”, “Othello”, “Hamlet”, “Julius Caesar”, “Taming of the Shrew” or “Macbeth”, Shakespeare is impossible to ignore. Thousands of books have been written about Shakespeare and even though he lived over four hundred years ago, biographers and literary critics are still inspired to wax lyrical upon the subject in the 21st Century. What’s more there are as few facts as ever to go on, and by the very nature of history, it’s unlikely that any new and dramatic evidence regarding the life and times of William Shakespeare will be revealed. So what exactly is it that makes Shakespeare such a fascinating subject for speculation by each new generation to discover him? After all, the image we all recognize of Shakespeare is the perfect picture of Elizabethan respectability and far from being anything out of the ordinary. However, like all good stories, dig a little deeper and your efforts will be rewarded. Shakespeare’s meteoric rise from the humblest of beginnings to worldwide fame tells a tale of tenacity that is inspirational to this day and as we follow in the Great Bard of Avon’s footsteps, where there’s a will, when you’re talking about William Shakespeare, there’s most definitely a way.

I’m here because I’m actually realising the mindset this man must have offered to everybody in the world and it influenced how we see things and our language as humans. I want to understand and accept myself better so I’m learning more about humankind first! I dropped out of high school and never managed to get back in guys, I never got the privilege. Please, listen to these teachings and decide for yourself on if this is how we should view the world.

He was christened on April 26th and was speculated to be born 3 days before that on April 23rd
Shakespeare died April 23, 1616. His death could be considered ironic because just like his birth date his exact death date is also a mystery.

The Sonnets 'DARK BEAUTY" has usually been presumed to be female even though he/she's gender is never revealed, only his/her appearance ,and that the writer of the Sonnets seemed to like this person A LOT. Its all speculation. Was it only social convention that all of his speeches about love spoken by his Juliets, Olivias, Violas, Portias, Rosalinds, etc. were possibly written to and possibly for the men and boys who played them? Just sayin.....

I love these biographies. I am curious what the source is for saying his love poems are about a male friend. There is much we do not know about him so unless he dedicated the poems to this man or it was documented somewhere at the time this is interesting speculation. Remember he fathered 3 children and one was "out of wedlock". There would be nothing wrong if he was enamered with a man he knew but I think it is important to state speculation as speculation. You also do not address the fact thst some people think he did not write all the plays himself. Enjoyed watching it though.

Some of Shakespeare's plays have been re-interpreted by two wonderful Australian writers. John Marsden wrote a novel called "Hamlet" in which he depicted Hamlet and Ophelia as two teenagers, desperately in love but at sea within a world of troubles, namely the court of Denmark with all its tensions and intrigues. Jackie French re-wrote the story in her book, "Ophelia, Queen of Denmark." She showed the way that women were influencing the outcomes behind the scenes and also re-interpreted the death of the King in an interesting way. She also wrote, "I am Juliet" focusing on Juliet's experience of the being in love with Romeo. Her book about Macbeth is fascinating. She is critical of Shakespeare for not sticking to the historical facts in his play about Macbeth but Shakespeare had to take account of the fact that he could be hung, drawn and quartered if the dictator, Queen Elizabeth 1, was in any way threatened. Elizabeth had learnt ruthlessness from her father who had executed her mother. That is probably why Shakespeare depicted Richard III as being a murderous tyrant. Shakespeare had to explain away why the crown had not been passed down through inheritance, an awkward fact because it really meant that Elizabeth 1 was not the legitimate queen, a fact he carefully glossed over. (It also means that Elizabeth II is not a legitimate queen.) It is surprising in this day and age that royal families still choose the next royal by means of inheritance. Most other jobs require qualifications and a carefully written job application and a job interview, rather than just saying, "Mum, has the job so I expect to get the crown." As it is, an entire family is subjected to endless scrutiny and lifetimes on display because one member of that family is forced to be a monarch.

Baby William also died. The real playwriter was Italian born. Michaelangello de Crollalanza (literally: crolla + lanza = shake + spear) was the real Shakespeare. The Stratford parents were actually his aunt and uncle. He took the name of his deceased cousin. So the true birthdate of him is unknown.

Why all the complications and secrecy? Life was hard enough to contend with with all the concelings and people aren't who they were. It sounds like a plot from one of Shakespeare's plays! Why not accept all we know about Shakespeare and enjoy his plays. Have a nice cup of tea and relax.

Most of his plays have an Italian background because he lived in Italy for 22 years before escaping to UK from the persecution. He hid with his mother in a castle called Castello Otello before getting safe passage. I accept what I know about it.

8:20 It would have been illegal for Shakspere to have worn a ruffled collar. Sumptuary laws played an important role in upholding the economic and social stability of Elizabethan England but don't let that stop your fantasy.
No one called that person a writer during his lifetime. No one bothered to make a portrait of him, etc. All of this is created after he died. It reeks of identity theft since he was not alive to protest it. The first poems are published in 1593 followed by plays and sonnets and yet no one connects these to William Shakspere of Stratford until 1623. No one, including William Shakspere of Stratford upon Avon. He is not involved with the writing, editing, printing, selling or patronage. On his application for a coat of arms he wants to be known as a "player" not a writer or poet. His monument originally had no pen. At least some of his signatures are made by clerks on his behalf and the others are nearly illegible and not spelled "William Shakespeare" . He is not the guy that wrote all that stuff but that doesn't seem to stop the flow of these Harry Potter style fictions about Stratford.

The actual physical evidence of anything he ever wrote were four of his signatures that look more like scribbles with the different spellings for his name. There is a mountain of evidence pointing to Edward de vere being the actual writer. Almost all of the great Victorian writers and people such as Sigmund Freud and Mark Twain agree on this.

Before you watch, inform yourselves about the authorship question. There is two persons one with the name and one who wrote the plays don’t mix them up. The man with the name is like Mickey Mouse, he got his Disneyland called Stratford on Avon and there they show you five houses that has nothing to do with the author or the man named Shakespeare. It’s all about money, lots of money, hundreds of millions of pounds. The plays are fantastic but don’t believe the man you think wrote them, he didn’t.

to any kids complaining that they have to watch this for work, i have just watched this for work voluntarily and made almost 6 pages of notes on it. ive also watched two films, a recording of the production, and watched 6 episodes along of horrible histories along with of course this, before reading 3 books, watching a live production of a Shakespeare play at the rsc, visited both his grave, his birthplace, a museum, and the RSC's costume store (they've got 40,000 items and only a fraction of them are on a database - press f to pay your respects) and taken pictures of all of the above all for a production of a midsummer nights dream. im yet to actually put on the performance, cut almost 50 gels for lanterns, rig around 100 lanterns as well as getting out the previous show, create lighting plans from paper drawings, program the lighting, run the show during both technical, dress and public performances and then get the show out again all to get my qualification to get me in to uni.
i literally give 0 shits about Shakespeare. i've got work experience for the next two weeks straight excluding the sundaes, with an event on Saturday which i need to get all of my equipment tested for. but do you know what, im not going to complain. do you you know why? because if you watch shit like this documentary you can spurt random facts like the pile of shit left outside the neighbors house to your teacher and everyone will act really impressed with the amount of research you've done.
when you get your A at the end of the year because the paper asked what Shakespeare fathers name was and you were able to answer it (its John, he was a glove maker), you'll be thankful in the future.
will you ever need this information again. no. but its fun for now,

An introductory method of cake making
    BY SUDSEY...
In a street brawl in Verona
Question's simmered in the wake ?
Paused in questions of the piteous ,
Without bread , we must eat cake ..
    Juliet an only daughter
Cast a spell on quest unwise ?
Slipped a thought into a Romeo
As she softly passed his eyes ..
    Alleviate in hour's stretching
A method comes to forty two ,
Stops the brightest eyes from seeing,
Turns the heart to coldest blue ,
Mice and Men have cast a notion,
    Of reflection's as a guide?,
Tears were lost in sweet Verona ,
On the day that Romeo died..
