Thank you, used this video to replace a leaking P trap, I was having trouble with the replacement not attaching correctly, your video showed the correct ends for the different rubber seals.
Thanks buddy, just sitting in the front room and drip drip drip. bath tap trap seal broke . saw halfway in your vid how easy it is to install £3.99 later all sorted . thanks.
i took my bath trap of to clean it as it was clogged up after some diy and when i put it back on it leaked in 3 places it has 2 connector tubes NIGHTMARE. After watching this video i realised i put the black rubber rings in the wrong place After some patience and a sore hands its fixed whithout this video i would have had to call a plumber im so very thankful
Put a big thick line of silicon along the outside edge or the bath 'before you push it against the wall, then you'll have two layers of water protection
Very informative video, thank you. One thing is that the wall looked likely to allow your silicone seal to fail because its adherence is best on non-porous surface. Maybe install tiles below below rim line before fixing bath?
Hi I have an identical bath with the same fittings for the leg supports. The bracket and the bolt that goes on first, it says from my diagram that you pull the bolt up to raise the leg. Or do you pull the bolt, to the right and then to the left to get the bracket in the upright lock position.
Bath needs to be fitted on barrears. Battens across lenght and width on the wall to stop moviment breaking your silicone beads, no matter how many you put. People step on the edges to wipe the Tiles!. It also needs full tanking before tiling to stop condensation damage entering the substructure or in this case the brickwall. Enjoyed the video anyway!
Great thanks for the video excellent. I am tiling my bathroom floor, I wondered if its better to tile underneath the bath or is it not necessary? Thanks.
@@roasthunterNope. Silicone around the bath, push against wall. Seal 1. Tile to bath and silicone between tile and bath. Seal 2. A double seal is better than one.
@ To be fair that's exactly what I did with my bath when I fitted it but I'm still not convinced this is better than having full access to the seal by pushing the bath on to the tile.
Hi mate. Theoretically if the overflow pipe fell off the fitting at the top of the bath because it wasn't connected securely and its now laying on the floor. Could emptying a full bath of water down the waste hole and filling the pipes cause a lot of the bath water to leak out of the overflow pipe that is no longer connected to the bath and soak the floor? Thank you.
Great video. I've followed all your instructions and all is fine, except one of the plastic pipes underneath has a little leak at the join. Should I put plumbers putty inside or around the outside of the plastic pipe to seal it? Thank you.
Where can I purchase a tub similar to this one in the video? I'm located in N.W. Indiana. My sewer piping is not accessible from below so being able to make the connections from the side of the tub would be helpful.
I got quoted £300-£400 just to install a toilet & told me it would take half a day, little did the plumber know my brother is actually a plumber & installs bathrooms for a living unfortunately he was just way to busy to install ours as he's self employed. Some plumbers can really take the Mick out of people.
Hej. Mam pytanko. Czy te dziury w wannie na oddzielne krany nadają się również do instalacji bath Shower Mixer? tzn nie wiem czy te odległości między nimi są uniwersalne również do wymianki na pojedynczy kran z prysznicem. Dzięki. pozdro
Hi i was told by a plumber you should apply silicon to the bath waste washers to get a good seal otherwise after some time water will seep through is this true in your experience?
Do I need to hook up the overflow?.im putting a tub in my cabin and will be using a bucket of water @ a time to bathe and a bag shower to shower...I have a vent about 4 feet ahead of the tub...thanks
Your waste pipe is going uphill lol 🤣😂 that won’t drain properly, also your supposed to fill the bath with water before you silicone, then empty once it’s cured.
Those white things are 'tap cushions' which should be above the bath, the black rubber, or nylon washers that should be below are missing.☺ Yee Ha! Where are we tying our horses? 😂
The steel bath, taps & overflow waste looks very cheap quality! I think I would buy slightly better quality, Ideal Standard acrylic bath with mixer taps & metal overflow waste.
I don't believe in taro waste you didn't use any PTFE or cord ...always leak when is water stop run ...you should leave birdie longer when you stop water :)

This was great. Explained very clearly and very good camera angles to understand the process. Thank you!

Johnny Wilkinson I’m assuming it will be tiled over and sealed once more between tile and bath
Got a small bathroom I'm doing can I fit the bath level it then tile bath upwards .

great video bro. i have a question, 6:52 can you connect this to a metal waste pipe ? thanks for your vids !
Another good Vid, your on a role.
Great thanks for the video excellent.

for future reference it is not necessary to do this. fit the bath before tiling and tile to the bath x
@@OllieCraigBloxham you would get a better seal if you push the bath upto the tiles, rather than tile onto the bath.

Thanks for the video 👍👍
no waterproof plasterboard installed?
Another great video!👍
You reduced 22mm bath taps flexes to 15mm,
Is that no going to affect the water pressure especially if you have loft water tank ?
For a bath, should it not be 22 mm pipe for speed of fill?
Yeah and there should be brackets on the side fixed to the wall silicone is no good right angle tile trim should be used under the tile with silicone
Very informative video as most of yours are.
Well done!!! Thank you!!!
loved the video.
Tanx plz keep uploading videos 👍

why did you change the bath trap and fit a different one that didn't have the inspection hole?
You noticed it ! the first one was faulty, couldnt tight it properly.
Thank you! xxx
I like the silicon behind the tiles. Would you ever get any mould issues though? Thanks
yes. even the mould resistant silicones are useless if there is no proper ventilation in a bathroom.

Uk
Those white washers go in between the bath and taps. That’s why they’re white. Should have black ones underneath.
Why didn't he use PTFE tape on those bath fittings?
You don't need it, the rubber seal does the sealing not ptfe. You only need ptfe when you have no other sealing method (e.g. radiator tails)
How much does a plumber charge for fitting a bath?

Hi i was told by a plumber you should apply silicon to the bath waste washers to get a good seal otherwise after some time water will seep through is this true in your experience?
The only washer that I apply silicone on is a basin waste rubber washer , 50% are leaking between washer and a tread no matter how strong you tight it
Weldone.....

I have a lot thank you
Am sure the washer should go at the top not the bottom
You don’t use wood battens to support the bath . I was told to give the bath stability.
I use wooden battens for plastic bath tubs but not for metal
Nice vids .... but pipes for bath should be 22. 15mm is bad practice.
Not if fed from a combination boiler. In fact it is advisable to use 15mm
