This music helped me through my college years and difficult times, Nujabes, Pete Rock, Dilla, Damu the Fudgemunk, DOOM, Jazz Liberators, and so much more. Happy to revisit this after so long. Much love to everyone trying to get to a better place. Peace :)
Same. Throughout my undergrad, I would always have a Trip-Hop playlist to accompany me in my studies. DJ Krush, DJ Shadow, Massive Attack, UNKLE, Portishead, as well as many others helped me cope with my stress along the way. I have already gotten accustomed to waking up at 4 AM to study and listen to such artists.
Didn't go to college but definitely was taggin and going all city to Krush, Damu, Dilla etc. Thought muhfuckahs like me only jammed out to this....going back to school at 30 lol lifes kinda great😁
Same here, I remember riding in my bike around university listening to this, massive attack, radiohead, aphex twin…i had a few friends back then and i had a vision to be a great artist, was about 18 now I’m pushing 25, no friends and broke but still have my dreams.
DJ Krush is probably the only artist whose production has ever touched me on an emotional level. It reaches the far back corner of my soul and just keeps taking me into places. Big up.
RIP Toshinoro Kondo, When I discovered this album 10 years ago it led me on a journey of sound and development. Glad I was around to appreciate your music and collab with Krush - peace
@shakoiobidze13 I know this reply is late and your probably already found out what album this is from but just in case you haven't the album is called Ki-Oku
The world of trip-hop dude, its a other universe. Its nostalgic feelings and stuff for me. I don't know why but it is. Its like dreaming of a other better world, when listening to some stuff of dj krush. If you like Dj Krush, BE SURE to check out Dj shadow.
this song always reminds me of driving in my 745 through the industrial parts of Chicago at sun light. Funny thing is I've never been to Chicago and I drive an Audi
I did mushrooms about 3 weeks ago with my homegirls ..... and we listen to thievery corporation... if it wasn't for the great music. The trip would not have been as amazing !
Jesus i was only 2 years old when this song came out. Man wish i was older at that time . That 90's and early 2000's vibe is just golden. Today that style has almost totally gone.
That's true, a great time. I discovered electronic music in the 90s, a lot of the artists I discovered then are still my favourites now; Boards of Canada, Luke Vibert etc. DJ Krush was one of the first I got into.
lagrimas caen sobre paginas en blanco... un vacio que consume la falsedad de las existencias.. cuantas veces hemos caido por el barranco.... somos siempre lo mismo... sujetos sin aquella preciada esencia....
I picture a windy cold rainy night at the seaport. ships and boats passing by, city lights off in the distance where chaos, lies, and manipulation run rampant.
I'm w you man. Dilla's donuts is also 100 all the way through but it's such different vibe. Check out khraungbin too for that downtempo jazz vibe that goes
I agree. Heard this in middle school and still come back to it 15 years later. Check out Dj Shadow, Blockhead, Nujabes, Dj Signify, and Boards of Canada. They make similar stuff
@@aidangavrilwallace agree. DJ Shadow is THE father of such awesome music. Also learned about Nujabes a few years ago after listening to all Krush's albums and wanting more.
@immortaltechpt i just think the average person wont find it....ive burned this on a cd and played it in a friends car who kept wanting to listen to it over and over when they first heard it...its refreshing...good music to a majority of people...but the majority of people dont really know who dj krush is so theyll never find it...i guess its better that way...like a treasure for the rest of us.
Quite frankly I don't give a damn whether or not the "average" person does or does not pay attention to this song or even this type of music in general. I'll be enjoying it all the way either way. Their loss.

Same to me when I was in college, very difficult times. I used to study the whole night, from 00 to 6 am listening to DJ Krush and others.

Massive respect for Krush and Kondo. I personally think this entire album is underrated.
the horns in this are so good its giving me the creeps
wow i'm entering dj krush' world and his vibes are so smooth chiseled

Indeed a masterpiece, but jazz legend toshinori kondo should also get his credits.
Her horn playing gives absolute great vibes in this track, in this whole.
His face and name are on the cover right next to DJ Krush
Literally my all time favorite album.
Would kill for a vinyl
i saw it on ebay for 300 GBP
I got this one on CD a week or two ago. So fucking happy for it, with the 1999 cover art (the one in this video).

Everytime, when this song comes, I literally bow repeatedly to the rhythm. It's too good yo

My fav piece and definitely a masterpiece!
Good taste
One of my favorite songs. I might have never found it if I didn't play Crackdown.
this album should get the Nobel prize.. listening to it in the utter silence I am rising above land...
Too raw yo. Simple yet powerful. Intricate yet simply soulful
Hard to believe, 21 years ago this came out, dang what was I doing back then
1 of My Favorites On the Boards so melancholy Dj Krush is My biggest inspiration
I feel this music,I do t know the why of it like eating a great meal but not knowing how it's made but the memory of it stays with you
Dj Krush you are the man. Toshinori Konda too. Nice trumpet.
There's no month ahead without this track

I hardly recognize the world past that point these days

To the extent of the doom jazz note : Bohren & Der Club of Gore - Zombies Never Die.
Oh and check out Hybrid, a bit poppy but great nonetheless.
