When a famous actor dies, people go to youtube and write their obits. --but I've never seen so many for anyone! Shows that everyone liked this guy. When you can make people laugh, that's a great gift and because of the magic of movies, he'll make my great-grandchildren laugh. Thanks Leslie.
I can not count how many times I have seen this movie, and I can still laugh every time. Not to mention, you can almost always catch something new that you hadn't noticed before. GENIUS !
I remember seeing this movie with my dad when I was a boy and it is still one of the funniest films...RIP Leslie Nielsen you have made me laugh over the years
80s had everything........Great movies, Great music, Great Actors, Great singers, the best of rocky series and rambo, Ronald Regan, my birthday, a perfect decade!!
Best comedy ever, hands down!!!I've never laughed so loudly!!!All of the actors are amazing, especially Leslie Nielsen!!!For me,he is the best comedian of all time!!!
i remember watching this when i was 10, i am now 26 and still love this film hilarious !! favourite part where the 2 scout girls fight and music starts and the guy next to the jukebox starts dancing love it !!!!!!!!!
"Airplane" gotta be one of the GREATEST movies EVER. Some of the best lines ever! And what a GREAT cast!!! AWESOME talent in that movie. Johnny (Stephen Stucker) was fuuuunny as hell. That movie was just pure GENIUS, can't praise it enough!!! Sad Peter Graves died 4 days before his 84 BD, but what a great voice & such a great GENTLEMAN - married 60 yrs. Very FEW of his caliber left. RIP 2:11 pm March 15 2010
I don't know what was funnier, this movie or my dates contagious laughter the night we saw this in the theatre! She had seen it before when we went to see it, and she kept saying before it started, "This is going to be funny." I hadn't seen it yet. We were holding hands through the movie. Every time a funny scene was about to happen, she'd start shaking! This forewarned me something was about to happen! "Surely you can't be serious." "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley!"
"I am serious, and don't call me Shirley!" That line LAUNCHED LESLIE NIELSEN'S CAREER! I will never forget the first time I saw this movie! I almost pissed my pants from laughter, and so did my date that night. My brother saw it with his girlfriend at the time and said it was disappointing! As soon as he broke up with her, it became the funniest movie he ever saw!
Its a sad sad day to loose a legend in comedy acting, Leslie Neilson you will continue to make me laugh for many more years. I never tire of this slapstick comedy, it makes me laugh just as much today as it did when it came out. In Australia we know this movie as "Flying High" and that's what you will continue to do.
R.I.P maybe you died, but we will always remember you as a greatest comedy actor of all the times, and your legacy for future generations will be your movies !
It honestly amazes me that this movie is so hilarious yet it simply revolves around the concept of an airplane. Obviously that's not the whole movie... but you can tell that this movie is just flat out clever lol
I love the old lady putting on makeup during the turbulence, and then looks at her husband and asks, "Is it on straight?" I loved that part!!! Peter graves will be missed. I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!
This movie is hilarious. It is on TV right now. I need to purchase it on DVD. I remember watching this movie as a kid and enjoying it. Only now i understand more of the jokes.
"Can you fly this plane and land it?" "Surely you can't be serious!" "I'm serious. And don't call me Shirley." I may be only 13, but my love for older movies than my generation is forever :D
I wish I was alive when you could see 3 1/2 minute trailers for awesome movies... 3 1/2 minute trailers where you see so much awesomeness, and it doesn't show ALL the good parts.
RIP Leslie Nielsen - when I heard he'd died my first though was "Surely you can't be serious!" Then a voice in my head replied "I am serious. And don't call me Shirley!"
You ever been in a cockpit before? No sir I've never been in an airplane before! You ever seen a grown man naked? I love his delivery every time I hear that I laugh my ass off
