I liked that they didn’t spell it out for us like most feminist shows. And it’s good for kids to learn about this early on so they know not to do it in the future
I’m not sure if this is from the actual teen titans or teen titans go, but if it’s from the actual one, it wasn’t really deemed a “kids show” but teen titans go I understand, that’s shows pure bs
The fact that once Robin learned of this his admiration immediately turned into rage, not even doing that cliché where "friend doesn't believe other friend because their idol is too good to do that" my mans Robin always favored his friends frfr
Yeah I love how cyborg sympathises with her because he can relate closely to star. Although all could relate, raven is a demon and beastboy is green but I love how it was cyborg who comforted her and confided as well, just a reminder of the world we live in and the dark histories that hide behind the colour of our skin.
That episode was so impactful honestly, i think it mattered that starfire had this conversation first with cyborg, who's not only part robot but also black. Og teen titans had some good shit going on
And if I remember clearly the dude doesnt even apologize or see anything wrong with how he treats starfire, by the end of the episode he remained ignorant which is painfully true. Man I miss the old teen titans
@@beth_m no unfortunately not. Not yet at least. I think they are confusing that with some of DC’s more recent animated movies, which use a similar art style.
I mean it makes sense, she's already been on Earth for several years with the Titans by that point, so her being a fish out of water still doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
OK I know it's a year old but for anyone wondering: no, Starfire was never in YJ. The only Titans to appear on the show have been the boys and Terra. Neither Raven or Starfire have appeared.
Aww I’ve always loved Starfire ever since I was a little girl. She’s such a kind soul, and you’ve done such a wonderful job with this. It’s such a talent to be able to do makeup so well. 👏🏼 👏🏼
I think since it’s a kids show they didn’t want to dive too deep into human racism. Because then children will have ideas. THE HORROR! Oh well but at least it was cyborg who confronted her about it because at least the adults can understand the implications at least.
‘You know what it feels like to be judged just by the way you look.’ This hit hard because I have dark skin and I have had to deal with being treated differently my whole entire life so I really felt something. I too have been called nothing because of my appearance and want everyone to know you are never alone and always loved ❤️
I get how you feel! It sucks being judged based on the color of your skin. I tried out for cheer. And while it was never confirmed, it was pretty obvious I didn’t make the team because I’m brown. After all, the only two girls of color who tried out were the only two girls who didn’t make the team. Racism is stupid! We are awesome regardless of what they say✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
@@DRUZY_STARS I meant in the context of this video, where Cyborg and Starfire were talking about a topic where someone was being racist towards Starfire. Lmao I guess I just misunderstood sorry
This scene genuinely always makes me cry and the fact she had that conversation with Cyborg despite them not having as much interaction with each other as her with the others makes it even more impactful they don’t say it but we all know what kind of experiences Cyborg really had, and it’s not because he’s part robot
This just welled up all the love and sentimentality I had for this show. I never related to Starfire, but I loved learning about her. It made me appreciate her character all the more even if she wasn’t initially my favorite. They managed to do that with each character they introduced, making them personally important to me. I loved that show. And absolutely beautiful makeup and videography!
I really loved how Cyborg didn't call her that because he wanted to hurt her. He genuinely thought it didn't mean anything. Starfire taking the time to explain was amazing, and the team didn't even ask Starfire to chill. (Btw, she doesn't need to. All episodes she did everything to prove Tamaranians aren't bad) The "hero" saying Star is "One of the good ones" was a good scene. I say this, because Raven immediately calls him out. The entire episode, Stardire did her best to have a good time, even in the face of discrimination. She wanted her team to be happy as well, it seems. The amount of love and trust they have for each other is very clear here. She explained what was going on, Cyborg explained to Robin and the others, I believe, and they stood with Star. I just love it! Btw, love the look! You're gorgeous!
What acting she just said the lines with very exaggerated expressions? It’s really such a tiktok video and doesn’t feel at all like acting. She’s got these weird wide eyes and dry expressions but her face looks so exaggerated.
It makes sense why they used Star because they can’t put the N word in the show. Bro I was hoping he was gonna say “yeah because I’m BLACK”. I’m sure this made a bunch of other black sequent their eyes when he said half-robot (or at least I did)
This episode actually had a really good message there will always be people out there that judge based solely on appearance. But the important thing is that we don’t listen to them and we surround ourselves with friends that actually care about us.
The writers of this show knew what they were doing when they made Cyborg say "I'm part robot". Back then, television didn't let you blatantly tackle real life issues because of "ratings", while in today's TV, tackling most real life issues is a ploy to appeal to a certain demographic for said ratings. I feel like this dialogue was the writers way of raising awareness against racism in the best way that they could. This show is an absolute gem
If you are stained orange you should do a female ompa lumpa look (sorry if I’ve spelt that wrong) also can you do a make up look as Poppy Playtime (The Doll) but her face is cracked? It would make my day!
Starfire was always my favorite! She was so kind and understanding, I’ve always wanted to be like her. I always try to be kind whenever I can but I still feel like I’m never doing enough. Can anyone give me advice on that?
Starfire backstory has to be one of the most fricked up events in the entire dc universe. She suffered an insane amount and still somehow became a hero. Teen titans is definitely one of the wildest works in dc and in my opinion, where the originality becomes most abundantly clear
That episode was a great way to talk about Racism and other topics of physical differences making people see one as inferior and how it severely affects people.
