    God bless you Joe B. Your a true gentleman in a world of pretenders who are more interested in tattoo sleeves and chasing female actors & singers. You are always polite and respectful of those who have walked the boards before you aswell as fans & those less fortunate that you help with your charity work. Such a welcome change to see true artistry these days, a real pleasure to follow your progress. Welcome back to Sydney Australia anytime.

    Joe B. You are the best brother! I really miss SRV and his stage presence, I never thought I would be emotionally moved by another blues man as deeply. You rip into every song with such conviction and passion it is unbelievable! Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to, "Keeping The Blues Alive". I saw you at the Star Plaza in Merrillville Indiana, Awesome! Thank you for such a fantastic performance!

      He was a bit of a child prodigy, but he IS one of those players that doesn't put the guitar for long!

    He's awesome,Most musicians wouldn't even bother doing something like this. Joe couldn't be more precise on his observation about, Learn from the artists you love, but be yourself and play with conviction.

    Always love watching Joe play: wish the camera angle was a bit different so the mic stand wasn't in the way. I love playing the different chord voicings he plays but can't see some of them; plus the blues runs he's doing in the first several positions are such a cool amalgamation of the greatest intros, turnarounds, and endings; plus his unique spin on said runs.
    I LOVE the way he quickly plays the 9th chords above on the 13th fret (due to capo) for an 8th note, to get that Robben Ford-esque "horn" sound.
    I remember how bad I felt for Joe when Danny Gatton took his life. My friend photographed Danny's 88 Elmira St. And around the same time, I saw Danny on Austin City Limits. That was almost 30 years ago. I knew Danny had been teaching Joe.
    Again, it's been wonderful watching him come into his own-- with his unique hybrid sound. You can hear a lot of Danny in Joe's acoustic guitar playing he played on this video; but it's ALL Joe's. In other words, he made it all his own.
    Thank you MI for sharing this gem of a session.

      How is he relatable?
      Last time I checked, I had three electric guitar, and 1 acoustic guitar.
      So he’s definitely not relatabl.

    Joe just lit the world on fire right their. Did you see , did you hear , did you cringe like the player you are OR did you see the human side and that YOU are on a path TOO. Man child was onto some serius talent to learn, but he just hit you back hard that is unimaginable if you pay attention. Uncovering the Unobtanium is what I would call it. I can say it cause I got it and he showed you the secrets, nice guys do that , and he is the man. David Scott

      Yeah, dude's a world class player and he still sports a very self deprecating, humble sense of humor. (I actually me JB for five or ten minutes at some guitar fest thing - he was holding court and very generous with his time and attitude. Class.)

    Joe is great. No need to be cool. Just is. He's carrying the torch for the legends so younger guys are exposed, otherwise it may not happen. They may never hear of Eric J or BBK.

    I'm sorry, but I don't have a thing to say about Joe B anymore cuz a few years ago he made a crack about being at a guitar show and a guy came up to him and wanted him to sign a guitar for his sick child. Joe told him no. From that day on I could give two Fucks about him. I went from being one of his biggest fans to someone who wishes him all the Luck in the world... All Bad... If he kept his mouth shut about that incident I'd still be a fan. Even if the guy was lying about having a sick kid I believe he still shoulda done it. I'm entitled to my opinion, and so is everyone else LOL

    Bonermassa > John Mayer

    • @fretbuzz59
      @fretbuzz59 7 років тому

      +camo 69 Umm, you've got it all backwards. Mayer is the artist: a terrific guitarist & songwriter, a lyricist, and a versatile musician. Bonamassa is an obnoxious guitar player.

    • @William5835
      @William5835 6 років тому

      I love then both so much ,that I don't want to know who is better

    • @alfredfarber3385
      @alfredfarber3385 6 років тому +1

      I never understand why fans act as though being a great musician is a competition. Each notable musician is different and is great for the particular things that he or she does. Is it necessary to trash a great guitarist to make the point that you love another guitarist? Mayer is great, and Bonamassa is great. Why not enjoy both for their talent without denigrating one or the other? If you don't like Mayer, don't listen to him. Do you think that Joe wants you to express your love of his playing by hating on Mayer? Joe and Mayer probably admire each other's music. It's cool that they both play differently...if all guitarists played exactly the same, you'd only need one guitarist. If you love blues guitar, you will enjoy most or all great blues guitarists, which gives you more to love. We all develop preferences, but that is because all of the best guitarists are different, not because one sucks more than another. I've been a Bonamassa fan for a long time, and I've mostly ignored Mayer because I didn't like his songs as much, although he obviously plays great blues. Then, I saw a video in which he accompanied Leon Russell on A Song for You. Mayer was the perfect guitarist for that particular moment.
