Hey, there's links in the description. The motor was sent to me from a sub, it's a redcat model, 3800 kv with a spectrum 85a ESC. Of you're looking to build one, I'd look for the kit I linked in the description with the 4000kv motor and 85a ESC combo. Very easy to install and has great performance for the cost.
I believe you have to press the button on the reciever 3 time, if it worked you'll see the LED color change. Give it a try, if it doesn't work I'll dig out my manual.
@@Blur125 I'm really impressed by this platform. I kinda want to buy the barebones model and really toss some mods at it. Its also far and away my most viewed model on my channel so others must be interested.
I've taken a pretty close look at this, I think it's possible to remove the whole battery tray and lay a 2s hard pack or a 3s soft pack on it's side. It seems like it's possible to get a little more vertical space by removing the gold plate around the spur cover. I'm not sure if that would have any negative impact or not. I have a few 2s hard packs that I can try out.
Hey! Thanks again, Rory!! I just ordered one of those pinion kits from Amazon, 25t to 30t I believe. If the calculator is correct, I should get 42 mph on 30t. I might try that once.
@@RedPanda_00806 As a general rule, discharge doesnt mean your vehicle will go faster, in my particular application my 30c battery couldn't handle the new demand from all the power upgrades. By going to a higher discharge it allowed more power (without causing the fail-safe to trip) to get to the motor and thus allowed me a higher top speed. If your not tripping your circuit protection, going from 30c to 120c won't affect your performance at all. Anecdotally, higher discharge batteries seem to be higher quality.
Gr8 run bro. i have a 6.5T and 3.5T motor on both my wltoys 1/18 and a 120+Amp esc running 2-3s with contact foams on stock steel spur and pinion gearing and its jst brutally fast. these cars are jst an amazing platform to custom build on.

@@kylegeldmaker well...mine has a 60amp esc combo with a ...I think i grabbed a 3800kv motor from surpass hobby, it also came with a nice heavy metal servo. Also all but the reciever is waterproof! Im also not sure my living room carpet will ever fully recover. Hitting the gas lightly left two long tracks going ALL the way across where it parted the carpet. 🤣 esc/motor/servo cost me 50 bucks. I have the gyro on, and yes..same exact radio. She works real well with the gyro.. I've got it located center rear behind the motor and the gyro just handles countersteering really well and makes sure that any bumps don't change your trajectory too severely. @@kylegeldmaker oh, and if I get a chance to get the CNC up and running again I might start making racing parts for these here in the US so we can take these to their limits.
Put a carbon plate between the spur and back shock tower, then get a hard case lipo to put on that plate and get that body mount post cut it to a button type size and glue it on the hard case lipo where it would be mounted. For your bigger battery setup.
With the original setup, there is not enough space since the Servo and the battery are on the same side and the mount of the central diff does not allow you to fit a bigger size battery. Taller battery with the same length of the original one might fit. I think that was also your suggestion.
haha, i cant imagine this sucker under 6s power. i ended up going with a goldbat champ series 120c, i released a video shortly after this one with the new battery and wheels, and a new speed PB.
BTW you some check your differentials for grease , according to the other tubers their is no grease in the diff's. I just got mine today. I will be checking my diff's.

Haha, I think it was reading wrong or I had a pretty bad binding issue. I did another test after greasing the bearings and got 41mph. But, technically it was a 75% increase over factory.
"too much" is a fairly blanket claim. In my experience, the chassis flex hasn't been much of an issue at all. I think it depends on what style of driving you're doing. My issue is tires, I cant keep tread on them :)
