The paper tape he used is most likely tape that is specifically for fine work like this. Tamiya makes some and I'm sure you can find some in a hobby shop or online. you could also shoot a coat of matte varnish on before you put the tape down. Make sure it's all dry too. If you're not sure give it an hour or hit it with a hair drier.
That's so well done! I always get so jealous of your aribrushing skills! lol. I have two drop pods fully assembled, but now I have to try to go back and add in the details! looks like I'll have to use my trusty ol' brush!
Hope you know how much your vids are appreciated...somehow, thanks for the vid, just doesn't cut it...but thank you anyway for all the effort it takes...already looking forward to your next one...Jim.
@Brush4Hire - I'm pretty sure the Author mentioned using an ordinary masking tape (as opposed to the overpriced Tamiya stuff). For me Tamiya usually has too much glue on it. I remove some of it by placing the tape on my wrist first.
Another superb video. Very informative and a great result at the end. Is there any chance you can do an airbrush basics video including PSI settings for different techniques and paint consistency advice especially concerning airbrushing metalics?
Did you use a brush? Masking tape doesn't do this when you use an airbrush, but when you work with a normal brush the layers of paint will act differently.
I'd be sick of painting and assembling those drop pods by now. I know you work on commission but it's imperial fist vehicles I'm looking forward to seeing you paint.
Hello sir, can you make a video on how to assemble a drop pod and Rhino? I have yet to see one that is done properly and clearly like how you do things in your videos. Thank you :)
how long do you have to wait for the paint to dry before you can mask it with tape? i tried the other day on my power weapon and pulled all the paint off with the tape... (i only waited like 15 minutes tho) also i used masking tape.. is paper tape the same thing? (looks just like masking tape.
very good you should buy gloves tho save your hands getting covered in paint. think i need some tape got up to the stage of painting yellow on my space wolves pod:p keep up the good job
It's nuts how much more blue the finished shots look.

Awesome, you are a master with that airbrush.

amazing airbrush skills. ive just learnt a alot in 1 watch.
I always like before watching, and I 'm never disappointed!
Usually I wait 24/48 hours. Paint has to well dry. I use paper masking tape.
Замечательная работа! Как всегда все на высоте!

Great video again, would be nice to see a painting schedule somewhere online, so we know what to look forward to :))

Awesome model, but it looks like the middle console needs a bit more paint than yellow. Everything else was great, though. Wonderful inspiration.
