Sean Bowen! Probably the best jockey right now.
Kept the horse going, survived the mistake and
rode a brilliant finish.
Moon D'Orange 7/2 but must have been 100/1 in running.
Genuinely unbelievable ride
Sean Bowen what a jockey. Couldn't believe the horse won after the bad mistake at the last
Absolutely brilliant ride that. Love the way he galvanised him again after the last 👏
One brave horse and excellent ride from the jockey 😊
Good patient ride
Brilliant ride , Sean gave this horse every chance and stayed on at the last , wow . Ginny's Destiny seems to stop very quickly
Joint fav with a feather weight - surprised the horse made such hard work of the race to be honest.
@Martin.Lewis.Racing.Channel
Not surprised you made such a ridiculous comment
@martinmiller6984 He's actually right, though was carrying next to nothing
Imperial saint up to 3 miles be interesting
The Flying Buritto Bros .Meanwhile brother James for another Irish trainer Jessie Harrington on Jetara holds off a determined challenge from Harry Skelton in a Grade 2 at Doncaster
Masterful ride, brilliant. The owner must have been absolutely delighted, just what he wanted. Iroko on his last run before getting a Grand National handicap mark. Connections could do with a multi-champion ex-jockey to advise them what the best way to ride horses are in particular races. Instead, you couldn't get much worse today if you tried. Almost as if they did not want to show what Iroko is capable of. What do you do with a 3 mile stayer running at 2 1/2 miles? Yes, Iroko is a hold up horse, but when running at 2 1/2 miles you'd expect it to be vigorously pushed along to go the pace so it can stay on in the latter stages. But no, after being totally friendless on Betfair - as tender as you like until the race was over. Ante-post second fav for the Grand National after finishing a "well beaten" fourth. Glad I didn't have a bet in the race.
I agree, "How did he..."
Totally agree jockey was told not to win the stewards held an inquiry for show but they don't do anything don't want to upset JP McManus total joke.
@@MB-zm8lc I wouldn't go quite as far as that, MB. They don't need to tell the jockey "not to win" as such. It's just that under the Rules Of Racing a jockey must (taken from the BHA Rules of Racing):
QUOTE:
"ask their horse for timely, real and substantial efforts to achieve the best possible position; and
take all other reasonable and permissible measures throughout the Race to ensure the horse is given a full opportunity to achieve the best possible position.
A Person must not prevent or try to prevent a horse from obtaining the best possible position".
END QUOTE:
ie If a jockey rides a known stayer at the trip purely for speed, then I do not see any way he / she is doing any of the above. If the jockey rides a race that does not show the horse to best advantage, then - IF it had a hell of a lot in hand - it still might (pigs might fly) even win... Which does not matter because even if winning it'll just mean he'll still have bags in hand once the handicapper reassesses the horse.
I agree, it does seem as though the authorities are scared to act against JP runners. Possibly because - at a time Britain is struggling to keep owners - he could take all his horses to Ireland.
EVEN WIRH THAT ALMOST TRAGIC MISHAP?? THIS HORSE STILL CAME OUT VICTORIOUS!!
Must you use block capitals all the time. Frustrating and infuriating when people do that, the texters way of shouting and screaming
Look where he was 3 out
2 mile 4 great national trial from iroko in fourth way too short brilliant trial il be backing him for national
I backed lroko Brian he o Neil never put him in the race pure stink it was pulled in by the Stuarts he was gave them a yarn about he fell the last day was minding him ffs 😮
Is tens at the moment for Cheltenham in the ultima handicap eights now in some bookies
@davidmcmahon5234 why would you back a horse who has the National as his seasonal target?
@@BrianByrne-f8o Brian the horse was fancied had it on good word o Neil pulled him joke it was Lydia hyslop said to the Stuards after racing he went red in the face let's have it right now
John joe o neil was pulled in by the stuards after the race pure stink on lroko he was wasnt of l backed it each way myself not talking through my pocket but talking about schooling in public here it is today shocking 😮
Luckily the blunder was at the last and great to see the horse break its duck over chases, fully deserved this. Ginnys Destiny is a horrible bloody thing and totally overrated. Paul Nichols is a master of illusion, making horses appear way better than they are, look at BMG and Ginnys is just about average or slightly below average. Stopped like it was shot, possibly bled or distressed. Congratulations to McConnell and his team as more English money crosses the Irish sea 😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah cos obviously you win countless King Georges and Gold Cups if you're "overrated" 🙄
@ Ginnys Destiny has never won either as far as I recall. The KG is often substandard and won by horses who are not really good grade ones actually by horses who are what is termed twilight horses between one and two.
@JackBurton-w7x I didn't say Ginny's Destiny has won the KG. I wouldn't call See More Business or Kauto Star substandard either, but you're entitled to your opinion, as I hope I'm entitled to mine
@ I actually wasn’t referring to them either, my comment was more about BMG. Paul is a scary judge of horses, he invariably has novices who people rave about and they go on to do absolutely nothing after the novices, he basically can and does get horses to win major prizes who under other trainers wouldn’t have these prizes. Paul is prepared to take the risk, the two you mentioned are both very decent horses albeit i wouldn’t call them greats. However I come from the days of Arkle and Mill House and perhaps my own opinion is exactly that. The KG is overrated nowadays, I often feel the artificial surface on the bend has had a negative impact as some trainers won’t race horses on it. You do see some lose action but whilst it is a grade one its often exploited by twilight horses and good luck to connections for that
@JackBurton-w7x fair opinion. I'm slightly after the Arkle and Mill Reef days myself. My early days were Red Rum, Night Nurse, Sea Pigeon, etc. I agree with your opinion on Bravemansgame. That horse has not been anywhere as good as first thought
