Today I'm going to talk about Revolut Metal!
I've signed for Revolut short after the company was established, however I didn't really use the service until recently. I was astonished by the benefits that Revolut provides, especially for travelers and business customers.
A few weeks ago I was contacted by Revolut's team in regard to the premium Metal subscription and was asked to present it to you.

Revolut's app makes budgeting so so simple. The layout and how I can see every transaction in such clear detail, it's brilliant.
Very much agree to that! And gives you so many options and features to use.
The most attractive feature of Revolut is no fee exchange and bitcoin , crypto buy sell feature. Only negative is that there is no actual crypto wallet on Revolut.

Agree. Wirex is .75 to 1.5 cryptocurrency back. That's why I use wirex more than my revolut card.

Honestly,I dont know many things about card especially international banking card,so this video actually add me some knowledge.Good presentation @Tech4All cause make video easy to understand.
That was the point of this review - to show the strengths if the product. And the card is just a small part of the whole thing - most of the features are fully workibg from the app. No need for going to bank offices, waiting for cintracts, etc - you can do banking from your phone and send money internationally for free.
I actually withdraw more often from the revolut card than from my bank card, because my bank chargest me a fee when using another bank's ATM. No such thing with Revolut :)

I am a fan of Revolut as well! I love the free charges for currencies. I think that in combination with a Bunq account; it's a great combination for having all you need as a European household.

No way to call someone. You have to change it on an ATM - try a device from another bank.

Should be available in any currency - but to be sure - you may check that with Revolut's support.
If I top of money with my CC who is actually paying the fee ? For example I have a Visa card and top of money into the Revolut account witch is MASTER CARD
there should be no fee when topping up. But there seem to be some banks that apply a fee for topping Revolut in particular.

Not sure whether you can cancel your subscription after a month. Best thing is to create a regular account and check with revolut's support.

@@yakinbozek 10 months according to their website with no fee. 14 days to 10 months you get charged a break fee. If you cancel before 14 days you get charged a break fee and a fee for the metal card itself plus delivery

Ако ползваш обикновения акаунт - да, няма никаква такса.
Колкото до зареждане - вече може да зареждаш в българска валута, така че няма такса при зареждане - все едно плащаш с кредитната си карта.

Yes, it is still available. I still have the card and no longer run the subscription.

Yes, I am experiencing the same thing this week.
Apparently almost all banks in greece charge 2-5 extra Euro per withdrawal if your card is issued outside Greece.
Currently these are for free:

Might be smart to think about moving somewhere else
My initial reason for getting Revolut was that I wanted Google Pay. Revolut was the only alternative at the time, that offered free bank cards. Unfortunately, they only supported GPay on their Metal cards (MasterCard) when I ordered my Standard card (VISA). (Google Pay is supported on all Revolut cards now).
Now, I use Revolut, mostly because of the great conversion rates. I went on a long holiday to Australia earlier this year, and I definitely saved a lot of money on this. How much, I don't know, but my main bank has a 1.75% mark-up on currency conversions (in addition to having a worse rate to begin with than Revolut).
I also enjoy the Statistics function and the analytics.
AND you can save reciepts for each transactions by uploading photos of them.

Been the same for many people. Two years ago they were shipping the cards with untracked post. Not sure how it goes nowadays.
One thing that I don’t entirely understand is how the bank transfers go. For instance, what if I had 20,000 USD in Revolut and I wanted to transfer them into my pre-configured Bank account in a local currency. Is this charge free, besides what my local bank is set to charge, or Revolut will incur charges on top, too?
If you have the Metal service - that should be free of charge. As far as I know for regular accounts there are minor fees added.
On another topic - I recently discovered that a local bank in Bulgaria - DSK - has added an extra fee of 4BGN (2EUR) when you top up from a credit card. Such a shame!

Isn't it the case that someone would make the majority of these savings you talk about through a standard (free) Revolut account?
In your first point, you talk about many benefits that you've experienced, but many of these are not related to Metal at all.
Revolut is amazing, but I think the most compelling features you talk about are not part of the Metal service.

Whats up with the insurance, health?.... Did I see something like this?...... I have one and want to use it but no acme, CVS, etc like CHIME takes to put the $1200.00 a week I put onto my card, do it with the revoult.... I am in America BTW....
It's about the feeling you get once you touch and see . Most would not need the metal. Many would love to have it from what I know from friends just because of the brushed metal look and feel.
Also, a lot of ppl considering to get one would love to see how it looks for real which might put wight on the decision to get or not get it, as it is with me :) ..

I still didn’t know how it is possible to have 1 card and on the app lot of currency account. I mean what if I have € and I wish to buy something online with $ ? How ? I only have one card that is going to be connected to 1 of the currency’s
You can exchnge the money in the app and buy online at no extra cost for the exchange or if you travel, when you make a payment in another currency the machine ask you if you want to pay in your currency or in the country's currency, just like a normal card but you don't actually pay any extra commission, I have used revolut for a few years now and I travel quite a lot and I've saved a lot of money thanks to it

It’s even easier than this. If you have for example 500€, 400$ and 1 Bitcoin on your account and you buy something for 200$ it will use the 400$-200$ if you buy something for 200€ it’s the same 500-200€ But if you buy something for 500$ it will check your $ Account see that it is not enough und change € in 500$. If you buy now something for 1000$ it checks Dollart -> fail, Euro -> fail, Bitcoin -> Check and change Bitcoins in 1000$ an pay. Same if you pay in let’s say pounds if you don’t have a pound account it checks all your currencies until it find one with enough amount and change it in real time

Standard blue Visa card forom Revolut is a "prepaid" card, is that metal one is real "debit card" or its prepaid ?

@@TechMishka you have small "prepaid" word printed on back of blue card from Revolut. I use Google and it's confirmed that all Revolut card are prepaid.
Some of car rentals don't accept prepaid cards :\

I am a little confused. I think Revolut is not a bank. This means that if it goes bankrupt [and we know that this is possible in these days of fierce competition] the persons who have put money into Revolut are not protected by the European Law. In a bankruptcy event, payments made into the Revolut will be frozen. All European countries protect all bank fund holders to a limit of Euro 100,000, for each European bank account held. This is the law in Europe at present. There is something similar in the U.S.A. My question is: Are persons using Revolut protected by European Governments?
That I don't know for sure. The EU protection is for bank accounts as far as I know - would be interesting if that counts for pre-paid credit cards.

Could you make a video update about the recent Revolut crash? They're blocking and leaving uncommunicated clients for no apparent reason, giving excuses, same answers, making it impossible to recover money. After a while, they just ghost from social media! Check out the comments on their FB and Twitter, thousands of people with the same issue.
They've become bigger - and having more customers inevitably leads to seeing some not too happy users.
Everyone around me uses Revolut. I know about one similar case for sure - and it was a person who was unable to prove the origin of his money.
Revolut will never block a customer because they want to. They do it because they get asked to do that by the governing institutions - can happen with any fintech these days; Rules there are much stricter, because it is easier for people to open accounts - and there are plenty of people that abuse the service for financial crimes, money laundry, etc.
I am regularly following a few FB groups - and most of the comments I see lately are related to the change of some IDs which apparently have impacted topping up from credit cards from one particular Bank, but that's a totally different topic.

people think features like cashback saves them money but 99% of the time it doesnt. In most cases getting money back on returns encourages people to spend more without realising which means it costs them more than it saves.

And they will ask you for you transfer the amount of £50 ( this was with me) its just for confirm wire transfer , no worry after you can send the money back to your account we are talking about seconds ... very fast if you need to send money back.
Bulgaria machines NOW charge for withdrawal unless using a Bulgarian card.

REVOLUT, THE BAD PART
I used to see only the good part of Revolut, an online bank start-up, located in the UK. But there is also a bad part.
Since they have no physical retail banking offices, in any country where they operate, not even in the UK, you cannot meet in person with any of their agents, if you like to open a personal or business account with them. In lieu of that, they'll ask you for a lot of personal data and copies of personal documents. Up to the fringe of acceptable privacy intrusion.
For instance, if your business has X number of shareholders who hold at least 25% of shares, they ALL have to provide their personal details, including copies of their national photo ID documents, even if they are not directors of the company. That is something that brick-and-mortar banks won't ever ask for.
So, you'll have to make your mind about what you want and accept: (a) a new fancy online banking account, and maybe a 'metal' debit card, or (b) keep yours and others' (e.g. shareholders') personal information and personal documents (possibly, too much/many of them), from being shared with such online banking start-ups.

@@TMWT , actually, the idea is to avoid opening an account with Revolutskaya altogether, before being lured by their bells & whistles, in order to avoid having your personal data (and your shareholders') and the details of your financial transactions being syphoned to Russia.
How to deposit cash in uk to my revolut
Chose to pay £12PM for revolute cuz of that revolute metal black cars. Never really used there perks except their really cheap how insurance which was £50 per the entire year and £75 excess fee. The concierge option no longer exists in 2020. Wish they'd bring it back as I've never used it
Also lost my black metal and silver metal card, I don't like how the other colours looks. And getting another card costs £35. New card is free

Всъщност - в UK е тотален хот, защото там conversion rates на банките от и към паунд са ужасни и с revolut хората спестяват по 1-2 процента на трансакция във валута.
Аз не пътувам чак толкова много, но ето - миналата седмица бях в Белград и си теглих като пич от банкомат. Отидох без кеш :-)

5:06 WOW. conversion rate displayed is 1.83848. WTF. the official rate is exactly 1.95583. So for each EUR you will loose 0.12 BGN. That makes 6% commission.
Note that this is the exchange rate of the bank (CCBANK) - this is what you will get if you use the feature. This is why Revolut suggest never to use it. This is why banks don't like Revolut.
@@TechMishka they hate Revolut actually. I am in US, I have a local bank account and card and they are not allowing me top-up from the local card. And they are playing stupid when I am asking them to do something about that.
Maybe you should talk about their appalling customers service
