I am really glad you made all these round dance lesson videos. We just recently decided to learn round dancing and really appreciate how you introduce, breakdown, and then have us practice the move several times while incorporating past moves. It has been blessing! Thank you. We are looking forward to learning more dances with you. 😊
Hi Janell ! Thank you for your kind words. It's really for people like you that we take the time to create these videos. I know what it's like to sometimes need each figure broken down to individual steps. Let us know if any of the videos need updating or improving. We are looking at using better vocals and music. We also want to start teaching popular individual dances, like this lesson. Dennis
@@SqDCaller definitely looking forward to more videos from you! The one thing I would recommend, to make your videos more user friendly and easier to follow the lessons, is to organize them into playlists by dance in lesson order on your channel. This would make it so much easier to learn each dance. I know this would encourage more people to practice because they could just click on the playlist and go as opposed to sorting through or having to create our own playlists. 😀 Again, thank you so much for taking your time to help us learn these dances!
Hi Janell! Sorry I'm late with this. You're right. I'm studying how to do your suggestion. I know right now our website at TheShoeleatherExpress.com has an order, but I'm looking at a way to organize that also. The problem with getting to that first dance lesson, is there are so many figures to teach. Once those initial figures and that first dance is taught, I can focus on one figure at a time for each new dance. Also a little bit at a time, I'll be redoing some of the teaches so I can get better music and cuing clarity. And perhaps fix any mistakes in the teach.
Just returned from Roundalab and Square Dance Convention in Milwaukee. You're right that I do a bit of talking. Unfortunately many people need the description along with the video, and some of the verbiage needs to be stressed. It's funny to note, it would probably be worse if I didn't have Elaine always whispering in my ear "less talk, more dancing" At the beginning of the video, I do try to index where you could fast-forward to just the figure demo.
Very helpful again in learning to teach my own students! 💜
