Excellent video, thank you ! !
You are welcome.
Many years ago i was staying in Kalavasos and visited Tochni. There were many run down properties while being nosey and peeping in one of these, which was full of furniture and still had pictures on the wall, i was told my a local that these properties had been owned by Turkish family's who had had to move out because of the 1974 troubles. These buildings couldnt be touched and were just left to fall into disrepair. Probably this would cause lots of problems for the future. Same as Varosha. A very desperate time with a desperate outcome.
My uncle was given a Turkish Cypriot house to live in when he was displaced, but when he passed it was pulled down because structurally dangerous.
The stones on these old buildings were beautiful. I bet the wind felt great during your walk. Hope you’re having a terrific week George 🐼🐾😁

Thanks George, my village, the work they are doing will be a recirculating river with amphitheater and a 3km woodland walk with BBQ and children's play areas. Will be amazing when it is finished.
Sounds great, will be going back when it's finished Alison.

It really is.
Great video guys, and a beautiful village. That’s another one to add to our list when we’re over again in September. We’re bringing friends over for the first time and want to veer away from the tourist traps this time. We’re staying in Fyti before heading over to our usual Kapparis. We’d love it if you’re in the Fyti area to do a walk round there please. Keep up the fantastic work! Steve & Caroline.
OK will add to the list, hopefully get there soon.

Everyone is so friendly
Yes they were Peter.
Looks like a very peaceful and picturesque village, would you like to live there George?
Um not sure, would rather be more in the mountains I think.
@@CYPRUSINSIGHTIs that because the air is cooler at the higher elevations?
george, i am a little bit confused... at 3:53 you see the yellow flag? what is it? because for me as austrian it looks like the Monarchs flag of Maria-Theresia... but that couldn´t be, could it?
It's the byzantine flag on the church. Thanks for watching.
@@CYPRUSINSIGHT ah, ok, thank you ... quiet the simelarities ...lol byzantine flag also makes more sense then k&k on zyprus
Seems like a ghost town George nobody insight
Lot of the villages are like that.
