- “Welcome back, Smart Rvers, to another Fast Tip Friday with Eric Stark, the host of The Smart Rver Podcast; today, we’re going to talk about “Micr-Air Easy Touch Wall Thermostats for RV Applications”
Most RVs have a wall thermostat of some sort. It might be heat only or Heat/AC.
It might be Digital or It might be Analog.
The Easy Touch Thermostat is made by the same people that make the Awesome Micro-Air Soft Start that installs on Roof Top RV ACs allowing them to run the AC from a small Generator such as a 2200-watt Honda.
I am creating a new name here today, this is what I call Super Digital because it just flat-out Rocks.
It is not the Typical Hard to Read screen that has some cheezy backlighting, this is extremely visible.
It does go to sleep so the Bright, Easy to See numbers aren’t as visible when it goes nighty night.
Why would you want to upgrade to this Super Digital T Stat? That is a fair Question!

The Easy Touch T Stat has wifi and Bluetooth capability. You do not have to use either for the t stat to work
But they really make it 100% better, I am not a fan of Bluetooth because of connection hassles and so many apps just don’t work correctly.
I downloaded the app from the app store to my iPhone and set it up in minutes, super easy.
The app connected without any problems to the T Stat and it worked great.
I had no doubt Microair would do the app right. They just do things right.

I do have a question though…When using the app for the easy touch thermostat, does it allow for multiple app users?
I have the app on my phone, my husband wants to add it to his phone and we are not able to pair it.
Wondering if it’s because only one app at a time is allowed…do you know this?
I have not that it will work with 2 apps. Some Blue Tooth items will only allow one user to be paired.
I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend the Micro Air T-stat. Mine died and the customer service at Micro Air is poor. I bought it directly from them and they would not replace it. Frankly, they told me to buy a new one at full price.....
Finally got mine figured out be nice if they had more instructions to get to all the features ,
My black light goes out and acts like it restarts when I touch the screen
You should contact Micro Air if you experience any problems; they will happily assist you.
Will the micro air easy touch thermostat display error codes like some of the original equipment installed by manufacturers?
I can not keep mine connected to wifi. Have 3 other neighbors in my campground with this thermostat using the campgrounds wifi and they have no issues. Support from Micro-Air is very poor. You will get email, they don't want to talk to their customers. Very disapointed in a 250.00 waste of money. If you want to control your RV from home, this is junk.
So if im in florida and my camper is in new york, i can control my tstat from florida even though my camper is in new york?
You said this works for "most" RV's. Does it work for RV's with a residential basement system such as the Coleman-Mach Series 6537 with heat pump?

I am looking at it online right now and wanted to call them, but no phone number and multiple launch prices (because it is not available yet) make it look suspicious. Sorry!
@TheSmartRVer I agree, I went the tried and true micro air. I didn't want to gamble on something that promises the moon and doesn't deliver.

Is this thermostat smart enough that you can send a temperature range, and it will turn on the correct HVAC system? For example - my home thermostat is set so that when the temperature in the house exceeds 74º, the AC is turned on. If the temperature falls below 64º, the furnace is turned on. Can this unit manage the heating and cooling systems in the same way?
Hello, Thanks for the question, I hope the following is answers your question in detail. >>>>>>Away operation allows setting upper and lower limits for temperature with a non-operating area or “dead band” in the middle. This can be useful when setting a higher daytime cooling temperature and lower night time heating temperature. It can also be used to control the temperature extremes when you are away from the RV. The mode selected must be an automatic mode to allow both heating and cooling operation. 1. Press the setpoints area to toggle between the selected value. A blue square will show around the value you are changing. The upper value changes the cooling set point and the lower value changes the heating set point. 2. Use the up and down arrows to change the selected temperature value. Set points may be changed on a time-based schedule. The mode used will be the heating or cooling mode set on the main screen. Setting a change event 1. Events will show --:-- when the event is disabled. Press the hours position to set the hours. A flashing bar will appear under the hours along with up and down adjustment selectors. Use the adjustment selectors to change the hours. Press the minutes to move the flashing bar under the minutes and allow ¼ hour adjustments. Use the up and down adjustment selectors to make changes. Press the temperature to change the desired temperature set point. This is the temperature the system will try to achieve after the time that was set. 12- or 24-hour format 2. Press the time in the upper right to change 12 and 24-hour time formats. Setting the time 3. Time zone is set and saved whenever the thermostat connects using Bluetooth. Time is set on power up through the internet connection, or whenever a connection is made on either Bluetooth or WIFI. Enabling the schedule 4. Press the enabled/disabled button to enable the schedule. The schedule will be active and make set point changes anytime the schedule is selected on the main screen. The Home/Schedule/Away button will only toggle between schedule and away when the schedule is enabled. The button will only select between home and away if the schedule is disabled. Away mode is not configurable on a schedule. 5. Press the round arrow icon to return to the regular settings screen.

Can you change the temp from the app like a home smart thermostat?
Yes, you can; it is very easy to use the app.
I just watched your video on the micro air easy touch thermostat. If you set the temperature 65 degrees will it turn the air conditioner or furnace on as required without you having to change the mode?
You can create time and day schedule settings which allow heating only, cooling only, or both. You can tell it whether you want low fan, hi fan, or "Full Auto".
You can create *HOME* schedules, as well as *AWAY* settings. You can set different temperatures for different times of day, and you can set thresholds to keep the temperature between a high and a low setting.
It's extremely versatile.

sorry not worth the price can get the same features in a house thermostat for less then half the money ...
