I used to work at Pizza Hut. So things may have changed since I worked there, but when I worked there any deep dish crust such as pizza or breadsticks came as frozen dough. The frozen pucks of dough are placed in pans the day before they are used along with a couple squirts of oil. The dough then needs the time to thaw and rise in the walk in fridge. There is only so much pan pizza that can be made in a single day. It sounds like: 1. Your Pizza Hut ran out of the square dough for the day or 2. Someone forgot to proof the dough the day before or 3. There was an accident in the walk in and someone knocked over all the proofed dough. All 3 of these things have happened at my Pizza Hut before.

Love when a pizza has a good crust, and Detroit style never fails to deliver. I don't get mine from Pizza Hut though, a local pizzeria has it as a permanent part of their menu and the quality of pizza at pizzerias here on Long Island are just better. It's a plus to support local businesses, especially right now You know how Detroit is called the Motor City? Well its car industry is why Detroit style pizzas are shaped rectangular! It was invented in 1946 at a place called Buddy's by Gus Guerra. Gus was searching for a high-end pizza pan to create the perfect pizza until he realized something. Detroit's auto assembly plants used blue steel utility trays used to hold parts (i.e nuts, bolts etc). For these plants, they were just a thing to hold parts...to Gus, it was a Sicilian-like deep dish pizza.

Yeah the quality has gone down since the 90s. Used to order pizza hut every couple of weeks. Tried my local pizza hut again after a few years of not eating there. I got a pizza where the cheeze only covered 75% of the pizza. I was told by the manager "it was made to spec". And that i'd have to pay more to have cheese on 100% of the pizza. That was the last time i ordered from pizza hut.
it's somewhat different than a smaller Detroit pan because you dont get crispy edges from every piece. It might be more shallow too so it wouldn't be as thick.
I never found the need to even try their Detroit style since I live in the Detroit area and nothing can top Jets or Buddy's when it comes to Detroit style. The only problem is that he skipped eating the crust with that delicious caramelization on it.
No offense intended but Motor City Pizza Co frozen pizzas are pretty horrible compared to the real thing and pretty bad in general. Sorry...just my opinion
Nice 👍 review, I never had this pizza. It looks like a lot of crust and dough so not sure if I would order. I don’t order pizza out very much so when I do I typically like to try something different from a non-chain, or smaller chain pizzeria.
Thats Detroit style pizza. The pizza dough is thick and closer to a dense bread than an actual pizza dough. Usually cook in a square sheet pan like Little Cesar's.

Being from Michigan, the popularity of Detroit style pizza and Michigan based pizza chains in general is just kind of funny and fascinating to me. Dominos, little Caesars, jet's, and now hungry howies (still carving a path) are all over the place. At one point these used to just be called pan pizzas and then they changed to Detroit deep dish or 4 corner pizzas, and now jet's seems to be responsible for the Detroit-style gaining mind share. I hope one day people can also get a taste of the actual Boston cooler with Vernors in it, so I can finally get it in more places instead of just halo burger who refused to make it the right way nowadays... I also hope little Caesars decides to make Stromboli at other restaurants besides all the ones here in Flint, it's really their best item easily
@@StarliteProductDevelopment Yea I used to think Vernors was just like how Dr pepper and RC cola were, not really backed by the 2 big dogs of soft drinks but still pretty well known in places.
All those Michigan pizza chains are definitely exploding in popularity nationwide in the last decade or so. That’s how I feel about Popeyes and Raising Canes, being from Louisiana. They used to be small local chains in South Louisiana. It’s crazy seeing how they’ve grown. Tabasco sauce, too. That seems to be way more popular outside of Louisiana than it is here.
@@michaelstein7510 It's funny you mention Popeye's. As far as I know for the last few years the only Popeye's we had here in Michigan seemed to be in Flint (at least 15 years for both), then about 6 months ago I noticed them building one in Lansing, fast forward 3 months from then and there are at least 20 other locations in the state with the majority now in the detroit area, this really threw me for a loop because I'd checked several times this year and couldn't find any.
@@sajohnson09 Yeah, they’re expanding very quickly. I don’t know if Raising Cane’s has reached Michigan yet, but they tend to put their restaurants in college towns, mostly. Cane’s was only in Baton Rouge until about 15 years ago. Walk-On’s is another Baton Rouge chain that’s growing crazy fast. I hope the service at your local Popeyes is better than mine. 😂 The food is damn good, but you have to wait forever, and half the time they screw up your order.
Wow. Looks really good. I would like to know how it compares to a Pizza Hut Pan Super Supreme, which to me, is why I go to Pizza Hut. You know? I had a slice of the 'stuffed crust,' when they started making it, but even though it was very good, it's like ordering seafood, because you hear it's good, but what you want is a steak. We had our Pizza Hut up and leave the area. When I found out it was gone, I was sad that I didn't go there more often, over the past few years. Closest Pizza Hut is an hour away.
at a buffet, i personally sneak corndogs into the buffet so others can enjoy them. I hide 6 corndogs in my jacket pockets. it then, is a joy for me to see other patrons of the establishment eat my corndogs thinking they were part of the buffy
Yup. We got Jets, Buddy's, and many other legit hometown pizza places. If you're not getting it from Michigan then it ain't Detroit style. It's way better here.
I work at a Pizza Hut and they must have meant that they were out of the rectangular dough used for the Dinner Boxes and Detroit Pizzas because there are no "molds" just various types of boxed frozen dough that are delivered via truck and kept in the freezer then they are placed in oiled pans to thaw and rise in the "Proofer" then it is put into a walk in cooler until needed usually the dough is good for a day or two depending on what kind it is
Ahhh but there is a difference. If any one square doesn't have cheese that's burnt on the edge then it isn't the same. As I remember it, it was one rectangle cut down the middle then across at several points. This made each square have a cheesy well done cheesy edge. The corners had the most bang for your buck having 2 cheesy edges. This missed the mark and my disappointment would have certainly been unmeasurable....
Lr3meber going there in the 90s and eating inside. We even had a field trip there. It was an experience and the food was great. It has become mediocre and way overpriced. And nobody would even think of eating inside.
Says a lot for this guy how interesting & entertaining he is to draw us like moths to light for a fast food food review. I really look forward to his time spent doing these, so enjoy listening to him 😊
It's amazing to me that every place Review Brah reviews screws up the order or doesn't include enough of a certain ingredient or gives him something reheated from yesterday.. I can understand getting something like that every once & a while (it is fast food), but these kind of things seem to happen to him every 3 or 4 reviews
Really just depends on where you live. The fast food places in my city are abhorrently terrible and always make a mistake of some kind. Only 1 or 2 places I've been to have a solid record of no mistakes. The next city over tho is perfectly fine. I'm assuming this is the case with him Either that or he's only going to restaurants during peak hours when they're the most busy
I don't honestly think you got a Detriot-style pizza. That looks like their normal pan pizza (the one you typically have to pay around $1 extra for vs. the thinner "basic" one they sell). The Detroit-style pizzas (and the pizzas you get when you order those Dinner Boxes with the same square shape) are far thicker, like twice as thick as what you got. Pizza Hut's dough is frozen, so if they're out of a size/shape, they're out of it. I had this happen once when I ordered a large pizza and they gave me two mediums because they were out of large crust.
Yeah, I thought something about this looked a little suspicious(not on Report's end), and you are probably right; even their own website shows - as photographed - that this is supposed to at least be a rectangular pizza.
O.H.R. Yes. It’s not the same anything. He isn’t even reviewing a pan pizza with sauce on top It just a different thing all together. As would be any crust choices. But especially this. The guy should have just took the $20 loss And then have a review of the product.
One thing that would be a nice addition is how the restaurant's customer service was as well as if they adhere to posted hours. Have had issues here where a fast food place closed their store over 30 minutes early and their drive-thru over an hour early. Also , orders have been wrong and employees not following proper hygiene procedure (picking up trash off the floor and then going straight to handling food without gloves.
It's been a few years since I've had a pizza from Pizza Hut. The last time I ordered from them, the sauce was bland and seemed thin, as if it were watered down. It sounds like it hasn't changed, which is disappointing considering that the sauce is one of the key elements to having either a great pizza or a ho-hum one.
Last time I ordered Pizza Hut it was an hour and half late, stone cold, and when I called to make a complaint I was treated like crap and was given an attitude and cursed at over the phone.
Cheese and crust are the Hutt’s strength. Stuffed crust or pan crust, it’s crispy buttery and flakey, and while the cheese is bland atleast there’s always a large stretchy hunk on each slice
I still think it's weird that Domino's and Little Caesar's are both actually _from_ Detroit and yet Pizza Hut is by far the most obsessed with Detroit-style pizza. Pizza Hut is originally from Kansas, for the record.
It's nice listening to you, it's like you can say words that make sense... A positive review is the least I can do, and I've subscribed to your page too...
Appreciate all the reviews....I was taught in 1985 at my first pizza job the key to keeping them coming back is consistency and good ingredients...no canned mushrooms etc.and customer service

You know how Detroit is called the Motor City? Well its car industry is why Detroit style pizzas are shaped rectangular! It was invented in 1946 at a place called Buddy's by Gus Guerra. Gus was searching for a high-end pizza pan to create the perfect pizza until he realized something. Detroit's auto assembly plants used blue steel utility trays used to hold parts (i.e nuts, bolts etc). For these plants, they were just a thing to hold parts...to Gus, it was a Sicilian-like deep dish pizza.
Stop being everywhere
You are damn right as a fellow long islander
Greek owned Cottage Inn is the quintissential detroit style pizza beloved by Michigan residents - especially U of Michigan sports fans. It's fun to hear your story though and I wonder how the two stories touch each other!
So is there Ohio-styled pizza?
ReviewBrah, we love the eating segments. Please keep them in.
You have the best delivery, you should be a News Anchor on a major network. Take care.
This is a GREAT way to start the week. ReviewBrah's class and wisdom is second to none. Always looks immaculate. Uses a cloth napkin, and real silverware. Never talks with his mouth full. One of the best personalities on the internet. 👍🏿
You took the words right out of my mouth, Tony! :) Couldn't have said it better.
I wish you all the best, sir. Greetings from Germany.
Dead right
Every time I hear that "Hello everyone" for a new review it makes me happy.
It’s one of those UA-cam sign-ons that feel like putting your feet into a comfortable pair of slippers.
I miss 90s Pizza Hut. I rarely get pizza but about 2 years ago I tried Pizza Hut and seems like quality has gone downhill.
That was the last time i ordered from pizza hut.
yeah when they had a salad bar and waitresses, it was the best
Back in the 70's, 80's and early 90's they were good!
Pure garbage anymore!
Not as good now. Have to pay extra for good amount of cheese & sauce. Disappointing.
Pizza Hut stores closed for good during the pandemic in my place. Good riddance.
Food companies fear his disappointment and long for his words of approval.
it's somewhat different than a smaller Detroit pan because you dont get crispy edges from every piece. It might be more shallow too so it wouldn't be as thick.
I never found the need to even try their Detroit style since I live in the Detroit area and nothing can top Jets or Buddy's when it comes to Detroit style. The only problem is that he skipped eating the crust with that delicious caramelization on it.
Jet's for the Win!!!
Amen, for Jet’s.
I used to live in Berkley and went to Buddy's often. This pie has almost nothing in common with a Buddy's or Sheild's pie.
@@alexgray6082 Shields is damn good pizza too. So is Green Lantern.
BBQ Chicken Pizza from Jets with Turbo crust.
Wife and I love this guy!
If you want a good Detroit style pizza, try Motor City Pizza Co. - Costco sells them frozen… they are killer good!
Those are REALLY mid compared to actual detroit style pizza
No offense intended but Motor City Pizza Co frozen pizzas are pretty horrible compared to the real thing and pretty bad in general. Sorry...just my opinion
I also agree
Nice 👍 review, I never had this pizza. It looks like a lot of crust and dough so not sure if I would order. I don’t order pizza out very much so when I do I typically like to try something different from a non-chain, or smaller chain pizzeria.
Jets Detroit style, happys pizza Detroit style, they are both Detroit chains that i noticed to be outside of Michigan. give Detroit style a try
Thats Detroit style pizza. The pizza dough is thick and closer to a dense bread than an actual pizza dough. Usually cook in a square sheet pan like Little Cesar's.
Too much dough to pay for dough
I like how he makes a point of showing the cross section of the bite so you get an idea of the texture. He's great.
I can picture the 1970's Foghat mustache and pizza sauce
Thanks to GMM for showing a clip from this guy and finding this channel has been the joy of my day. His deadpan delivery is AMAZING 🤣
Ha same just found him.
Welcome to the Only food review channel worth watching
ReviewBrah is epic enough to get twice the pizza for the price of one without even asking for it.
Bro literally looks fresh af in every video he’s dropped, truly a Gentleman indeed, props to your suit salesman in maintaining your ever-lasting drip.
As a new subscriber I’m attempting to catch up on past videos so if I missed any reviews covering my request please forgive me. I don’t know if you’ve ever considered reviewing desserts but it’s something I’d like to see. Chain restaurant desserts, DQ and Baskin Robbins etc. if you don’t have a sweet tooth then I understand, no worries. Also, thanks for your sense of humor that allows you to go through the comments and discuss them and explain yourself. Mighty entertaining! Much appreciate your efforts on the channel!
“Is it enough though? Is there ever such a thing as too much when it comes to down to pizza hut?....probably.”
😂😂😂
I wonder if the overall size affected the sauce. Perhaps they used the same amount of sauce as the would on the smaller portion so it was spread a bit thin.
First time, I've caught a video on the same day it was uploaded. I am new to your channel. At first I thought you were just playing a role. Just to set yourself apart. But I have since realized that you're basically yourself with a nice touch of dry humor.
How this man can resist the smell of pizza in his house for a proper intro is mind boggling. I’d have to grab a slice immediately once on the table.
Nice name
Adults can control urges pretty well.
@@mercster nah they can't.
I ordered a Detroit Style and a guy with the Pizza Hut sign on his car drove by and shot up my front porch !
You should seriously consider rocking a 1950's Pompadour hairstyle. 🍕✌👏🍺.
I just bought a Detroit Style pizza from Little Ceasars last night... I got it Deluxe... It was honestly one of the best pizzas I had in a long time... 😎 🍕
Yeah, I have to say. The Hot and Ready pizzas can be hit or miss. But, when you order a custom pizza from LC, it always seems to be really good.
I had the fanceroni a couple days ago it was so good.
@@razcarsey6635And if you go to the same LC all the time & get to know the people by name, it's amazing how the quality of your fresh made pizza improves like magic, lol!🍕 🍕😁👍
Little Caesars upping their game in my opinion especially specialty pizzas.
Detroit style pizza is Jets pizza. Buddy's is good too and some others. Pizza Hut can't do it real Detroit style.
I've eaten this 3 times since the re-release. It has been good as ever. Unfortunate that all of the fast food near you is extra bad
You must have a strong stomach. I am almost envious.
It's a shame they call this Detroit style
i'm glad you're still going strong with these videos. it's been so many years and you are still doing your thing.
I so much enjoy your commentaries. I imagine you as a grandchild! God bless you my dear.
I think leaving the eating segment in is a good standard. Makes the review feel more genuine and immediate, more honest
Vernors is difficult to find in the wild outside of the Midwest. It's a regional thing, like In-n-Out burger ,and Jack in the Box .
I personally don’t order Pizza Hut very often but still I couldn’t imagine the closest one to me being an HOUR away
Kind of strange your parents named you TheReportOfTheWeek but considering the amazing content you produce, its all water under the bridge
Thx bro for making these amazing vids you got me threw some hard times😊

You approach is so much like a more nurturing Roger Ebert. It's so wholesome, but at the same time the sarcasm brings it home.
Detroit style: The delivery guy does a drive by.
😅
I would think the larger size may effect cooking time if they didn’t compensate for it.
Nah everything passes through oven for same amount of time except garlic bread
Dudes a fucking superstar.
Everyone knows about New York Style and Chicago Style pizza. I had no idea Detroit had their own style.
Yup. We got Jets, Buddy's, and many other legit hometown pizza places. If you're not getting it from Michigan then it ain't Detroit style. It's way better here.
I work at a Pizza Hut and they must have meant that they were out of the rectangular dough used for the Dinner Boxes and Detroit Pizzas because there are no "molds" just various types of boxed frozen dough that are delivered via truck and kept in the freezer then they are placed in oiled pans to thaw and rise in the "Proofer" then it is put into a walk in cooler until needed usually the dough is good for a day or two depending on what kind it is
Thanks for letting us know its back!
Pizza Hut hasn’t done anything right in years. It’s a shame how far they’ve fallen
It’s so weird how a company that was on top made changes and fell off. They used to be my favorite. Now I never order from them.
I remember them being good 30 years ago…
back in early 80's Pizza Hut where I lived was the best, it melted in my mouth and later on slid out my butt, I miss ol' Pizza Hut. 😲
Papa John's pepperoni stuffed crust pizza is pretty decent
Lr3meber going there in the 90s and eating inside. We even had a field trip there. It was an experience and the food was great. It has become mediocre and way overpriced. And nobody would even think of eating inside.
Says a lot for this guy how interesting & entertaining he is to draw us like moths to light for a fast food food review. I really look forward to his time spent doing these, so enjoy listening to him 😊
I love how he doesn’t speed up the video of him chewing. And it was like two full minutes of him just eating. Again, I love it.
It’s very calming watching you eat ❤️
Yes, the very RoboBrah, passing judgement of the food scene... is finally in Detroit territory.
I LOVE YOU REVEIWBRAH!!!
This young man exudes class and panache. He would have been a fine representative from the United States at Queen Elizabeth's memorial.
😂
Watching you eat the food is one of the best parts, it’s like a mini mukbang
I literally love you so much and I hope you keep doing videos. They are literally the reason I have mental health.😊
I am convinced that Reviewbrah is a time traveler from the 1940's. The cadence of his voice is straight out of a WWII Hollywood film.
I'm assuming this is the case with him
Either that or he's only going to restaurants during peak hours when they're the most busy
I used to work at Pizza Hut as a cook. When it was time to "make the dough", that just meant thawing out whatever we needed.
Yeah, I thought something about this looked a little suspicious(not on Report's end), and you are probably right; even their own website shows - as photographed - that this is supposed to at least be a rectangular pizza.
he literally explained why it wasnt square did you watch the vid or nah
@@ITm4n but he’s wrong, they lied to him
O.H.R.
Yes.
It’s not the same anything. He isn’t even reviewing a pan pizza with sauce on top
It just a different thing all together. As would be any crust choices. But especially this.
The guy should have just took the $20 loss
And then have a review of the product.
Love the videos and ur confidence along of people could learn a lot from u
@@Razgar_Voxel Pizza hut: Do you not have an oven?
@@Razgar_Voxel : 😳 WOW ! That is just RUDE of them ! Ya, I would buy from THEM AGAIN .

I would be perfectly happy if every pizza was big like this.
I still think it's weird that Domino's and Little Caesar's are both actually _from_ Detroit and yet Pizza Hut is by far the most obsessed with Detroit-style pizza.
Pizza Hut is originally from Kansas, for the record.
