Saw the title and had to comment. No way is it ugly! I love mine. Versatile, spacious, rugged, durable (mine has 360k kms) unique. After that is said, I'll watch the video

I have had many cars over the past 40 yrs and l have to say that the Matrix is the best car l have ever owned, the driver viewpoint is really top class the car has only one negative point and it is just how light it is and you have to be careful in high cross winds on some parts of the motor ways.

My parents used to own one with this exact same trim and it also was the first car I drove right after getting my drivers license. It might not have been the prettiest car out there but it always got me and my mates to whereever we wanted with all of our cargo. The only gripe I've had was that it felt very top heavy which made fast corners feel like you'd tip over any moment. Anyway, the fact that the passenger side cup holder was right in front of a climate vent was just a genious move. That way you could keep your drink relatively cool while providing a cool interiour. Simply said, this car had so many nice ammendies while being chap that all modern car makers lack. For example, my parents bought a new Dacia Sandero Stepway. It got all the modern ammenendis like air conditioning or cruise control but what it really lacks is things like a rear armrest or picknick tables in the rear. Or the "ingenuity" that went into the drink cooloing passenger vent. I don't want to talk shit about Dacia here but I think Hyundai was a lot smarter about comfort back in the day than Dacia is today.

Did you find the secret compartments under the back seats for hiding your phone and wallet when at the beach?

Dacia Sandero reminds me of a particular car show presenter.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say, if nothing else, it’s certainly a bold design

The Matrix is a design of the past. Similar to the Mitsubishi Space Wagon, Golf Plus etc. Practicality first. These cars might be 'ugly', but are ultra reliable beasts that have tons of space for a family and will munch those kilometers without issues.

The Hyundai Matrix Is not a ugliest car!

The 1.6L petrol engine available for Hyundai Matrix is very durable and reliable, although it loses out on variable valve timing. It's a basic modern EFI engine: it gets you going from point A to point B without much drama, but fuel economy won't be as good as Japanese engines. Still, it's not horribly thirsty like a supercar. It's just that you can't expect to achieve 40 mpg on the Matrix bcoz the car has a relatively heavy body to ensure better stability during highway or long distance driving.

Imagine paying… imagine paying one of the most iconic design houses to come up with this.

@@SmallCarsDirect at this point the money doesn’t matter I’d force Pininfarina to all drive this car for a minimum of 2 years and not set foot into another car, they’d refund the money four fold just to avoid that.

I've got one the same age, I love it. I did wonder why the previous owner sprayed the door handles black.

I have a 2004 Matrix . Pininfarina model with 68k miles only. Ugliest Car 🚙 ever built. Plastic parts cracked after all this years even its in the garage! I have to replace the radiator that is made of cheap plastic and took me a month to find a new one. I dont think they still make parts for them coz they’re so UGLY! 😝
