    My name is Bre. I took two years of small engine repair at the local college. When I left school, I fell into a wonderful job at a local small engine shop where I worked the counter for a couple years. In 2010 my husband and I opened up our own small engine shop in central Arkansas where I am able to work alongside my family and best friends. We see over 2,000 pieces of small engine equipment every year, and answer 1,000's of small engine questions. We specialize in brands such as Briggs and Stratton, Kohler, Echo and Shindaiwa, but work everyday on MANY other brands like Stihl, Husqvarna, Honda, Craftsman, Remington, Red Max, Troy Bilt, Scag, Bad Boy, Hustler, World Lawn, Poulan, Mantis, Etc.. Hopefully, my experience I share, will save you Time, Money and Frustration in the future!

    What an awesome opportunity! My biggest concern for any company is that they always place quality above any other concern. I have watched so many companies let quality slide and try to continue doing business based on reputation alone, and it never ends well. You have to re-earn that reputation with every customer interaction.

      When quality starts to slip it is usually the result of engineering by accountant.

    • @dbeelee8564
      @dbeelee8564 11 місяців тому +5

      I believe the term is acceptable quality. Let's take the extreme of quality, the Ford model A frame. The steel composition included a quantity of vanadium. Vanadium is a super additive to steel. It makes it stronger while while making it more flexible (stiffer and more bendable ... yup) and making steel more rust proof. This is why model A frames are still around outside while the rest of the vehicle decayed long ago. Imagine auto mfg's still using vanadium in all their steel parts. Great for the consumer, until the companies went bankrupt due to the fulfilled market. Then, you couldn't buy replacement parts which broke before the rest of the car because the business scale was unprofittable for any sized companies.
      What's important is NOT ADOPTING the chinese business model which is, when it breaks (sooner than later), throw it away because replacement parts were never made AND newer models do not have the same part design. That kills the repair businesses plus, the professional quality products are sold at the non-big box stores.
      I have found another chinese business model (zero quality) includes selling incomplete products, then, when discovered, offering a partial refund. The product was non-functional, worthless to me, while the customer service was claiming I was getting great service for my troubles. Buyer beware.

      @@dbeelee8564 Imagine how well our country would do if we both made and sold all our own items, like we use to. But, that China money ends up in our politicians back pockets and that won't stop. Do you remember the body panels that Ford made from a hemp fiber and plastic?? Claimed they were stronger than steel and much lighter as well; can't sell consumers items that don't break easily though. We are so doomed...

    You are a treasure without a doubt.
    For your husband: I've had both a right hip replacement (at age 50 years) and a left hip replacement (at age 67 years) and both changed the trajectory, both physically and mentally, of my life and gave me my life back. After rehab and healing up, I can get down on the ground and do almost every chore I need to do. It took 2-3 months to get completely back to normal so don't get discouraged. I'm extra, extra careful if up on a ladder or step stool. I no longer jump down off a wall or pickup truck bed. I don't run, but can walk really fast. I no longer snow or water ski. I'm too cautious to take chances with those activities. Get the surgery scheduled and done. Do the preop exercises religiously and do ALL of the post-op rehab without fail. Follow all the "hip precautions": they become second nature. Best wishes to you!!!!

      My wife got her right hip replaced - it was her first joint replacement and we were both naturally concerned. Getting it done It was the BEST medical decision she could have made. The recovery went smoothly, and relief from the old joint pain came VERY fast. Her shoulder joint replacement recovery took longer, but was also worth it. Everyone I spoke to says that the joint pain relief was immediate, and they were so happy to have joint replacement done.

    Years ago I had a made-in-Sweden Husqvarna 250WR enduro-type bike. The 2-cycle motor was so precisely made that there was no need for a head gasket on top of the single cylinder. Instead, you used valve-grinding paste to seat the head to the cylinder, then you cleaned off the paste and torqued the head down to spec. I've never had a better-made piece of machinery. It had no speedometer/odometer nor a brake light. The headlight and tail light were powered by the engine (no battery) but I jury-rigged a brake light and switch using a 6 volt lantern battery, one of which would lasted about a year. I mention this, because I took my motorcycle driving test on it, and, in my state, a speedometer/odometer was not a requirement, just the lights and a brake light along with a license tag. The DMV examiner had been a trooper first, and knew all the laws and regs, and only wanted to see that it had the license plate, that the head & tail lights came on when running, and that the brake light came on and was bright enough. He cautioned me that I could still get a ticket if I went too fast, particularly in low speed urban areas and school zones. Later, while in graduate school in another rural town in a different, usually stricter, state, it was my daily transportation around town. One day at the post office a guy backed over it with his truck, but did no damage except to bend a spoke or two, which were bent straight on the scene. No real harm, no foul. Years later, had to sell it when I married - wife said "no motorcycle driving or owning" was in the vows, somehow I missed that part, but I did sell it. It's probably still being ridden on somebody's farm and surrounding trails in the rural county where I grew up.

One thing that I would certainly ask (but don't expect to get a straight answer) would be this: with the closing of all but one of the American plants, and production moving (I'm guessing to China for lower labor costs), can we expect to see lower equipment prices? That has of course NOT happened with anything else (including Husqvarna motorcycles (now owned by KTM, and mostly manufactured in China). But it might be interesting to see what they have to say about it.

    Should be two horizontal dots above the U if they want us to pronounce it like that. There was a movie produced in the 1970’s, a bit before your time, called “On any Sunday” highlighting Husqvarna motorcycles with Steve McQueen and Malcom Smith. Everyone including the Narrator pronounced it just like you did.

      All of the power equipment companies and any manufacturer that produces oil sourced or natural gas fuels (I won't use the term "fossil fuels" any longer, none of it comes from fossilized organic matter) are being forced to do so. That financial company "Dark Stone" controls all of their capital for doing business. If viewed in comparison to economies in the world they would come in as #3.
      Everything is controlled or heavily influenced by a relatively small portion of the worlds population, all members of the unelected WEF.
      Not a conspiracy if they openly state their goals, not enough people are paying attention.

    Sounds like Husqvarna is really concerned about taking care of the customer. Not only do they have great equipment, but they are listening to customer criticisms and making changes that the customers would like to see as improvements. To bad that most big manufacturers (particularly the automotive industry) don't give a damn about the customer.

Don't get me wrong as I do enjoy your videos and your enthusiasm as well as your knowledge; and you are not bad to look at either. However, on your opening scene of you cutting the log with an ECHO chain saw the ECHO is upside down and that bothers me. How do you expect a termite to read it upside down in time to avoid the chain from cutting it's little head off. I mean really? That is flagrant abuse of one of natures creatures. So please turn ECHO right side up to protect all creatures.

    I used to be one of their lead engineers in charge of their lawn and yard tractor designs back in the 80s' and early 90's. With that background I suspect they'd like to get your performance and reliability feedback on some of their latest equipment - both pros and cons. In addition, explain how their equipment stacks up to its competition and where they need to focus design efforts. Lastly, they'd certainly like your opinion about what you envision for the future and where you think it should go. While I'd guess they are feeling a very strong push into the electric market they need to forcefully understand from you that they had better not drop the ball on their internal combustion engine products entirely. In my opinion, abandoning the IC engine products will eventually lead to consumer disappointment (higher purchase price, reduced performance, including short battery life with high replacement and repair costs) ending in ultimate corporate failure. Be sure to speak your mind and don't be afraid of hurting anyone's feelings. Who knows - they might even listen to you!

    • @bjornleidelof1406
      @bjornleidelof1406 11 місяців тому +1

      Way before the Swedish chef…just the evolution of the Swedish language and spelling….Hus = house…in the old days this referred to a mantion/small castle and kvarn = mill…(in the old days spelled qvarn). So the name came from the old water powered mill located along the stream there i.e the ”Mantionmill”. Water power then evolved into industrial production in the Husqvarna Company. The company kept its name and the city changed to Huskvarna when the spelling of kvarn was changed.
