Nice tip Lawrence, might have to pick some up! These cougar paws will def break the bank, another thing is if you ever had a insert come off the boot they turn into shingle skates quick!!!
Hey Lawrence, good hearing from you again. I've been saying for years. Any good soft rubber shoe is great for walking a roof. I did roofing for quite a few years in my younger days. We used nothing but good soft rubber soles tennis shoes.
How’s it going Rick, yes I did some roofing in my 20’s myself and nobody really told me back then what type of shoes to wear I had to learn through experimenting….yes very soft rubber soles is the ticket for gripping the granules on the roof shingles.
I've had $30 boots and $200 boots for work and the $30 pair worked better. The softer the bottom is the better they work. BTW, I've been walking roofs my whole life, and it doesn't matter what shoes you give me, I'll never walk a 12/12 roof. You have more bravery than me. Good to see you again, Lawrence, God bless.
Try out Skateboard shoes. Airwalk, Vans Or something of the such they are made to stick to the grip tape on a skateboard which is similar to shingles on a roof. I will never wear work boots on a roof again
Yes I like the vans and similar skate shoes as I have worn before, vans can be costly sometimes depending where you buy them, but I have found these shoes at Walmart that only cost $16 actually a little bit better than vans for gripping the roofs.
No, definitely doesn’t need a new roof. The black algae made it appear like it needed a new roof. It actually cleaned up quite beautifully granules are intact to the roof is actually in good shape.
Welcome back to the world of UA-cam brother…looking forward to all the great content!
Thank you anyway to help the wash community!

Very true, there’s a variety of cheap shoes that do better than the ones that are so expensive….
