- Janga! aka river shrimps here in Jamaica is a popular river treat. these are normally catch then fried in oil with salt and black pepper until red. St Elizabeth is known for some of the hottest Janga's in Jamaica, soaked in homemade pepper sauce. Also some of the most delicious shrimp soup.
Not far from the famous Holland Bamboo, you'll find pepper shrimp and soup Vendors on the road sides while driving.
