Nickelodeon's deal to air Yogi Bear was supposed to include Huckleberry Hound, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Magilla Gorilla, Quick Draw McGraw, Snagglepuss and Adam Ant were slated to air on the channel. Only Yogi Bear managed to air on the channel. But the start of Cartoon Network ended that. MTV Networks sued Turner and they settled in court. But something happened in 1991 that changed a whole lot of plans. They licensed from Worldvision (pre-Turner distributor of H-B) and that arrangement was unwould with the sale to Turner, for additional H-B programs. In October, they would sue for violation of contract. It's very interesting to think what could have happened if all those shows had ended up on Nick instead. But something happened in '91 that changed a whole lot of plans. They licensed from Worldvision (pre-Turner distributor of H-B) and that arrangement was unwould with the sale to Turner, for additional H-B programs. In October, they would sue for violation of contract. By 1992, with the start of Cartoon Network ended up. He was much pretty dated when Nickelodeon dropped him in the fall of 1993.
I used to watch Nick all the time from the late 1980s-2000s and have access to many newspapers like Altus Times, Beaver County Times, The Nevada Daily Mail, The Tuscaloosa News, Toledo Blade, Minneapolis Star Tribune, The Item (Sumter, SC), The Storer, The State (Columbia, SC), TV Guide, and the San Antonio Express News where I’ve made many contributions to the schedules recently. If anyone wants to see a schedule from this era, let me know. 🙂
Danger Mouse was introduced to American audiences through Nickelodeon, as before coming out with the Nicktoons in 1991, they tended to air foreign/imported animated shows (including quite a few animes.)
Earlier this month, about 20 years ago, marks the anniversary that Nickelodeon introduced its new rebranded graphics, menus and bumpers on May 8, 1993. The 1984 style of promo close was still in good use, but the new 1993-rebrand had been introduced.
Yogi Bear, Rocky and Bullwinkle, The Muppet Babies, The Underdog Show, Looney Tunes, Cartoon Kablooey, Gumby, the 60's Alvin Show, the 80's/90's Alvin and the Chipmunks, Tintin and Tiny Toon Adventures, was my shows on Nick back in the days.
It was that on the UA-cam doco series Nick Knacks, that Count Duckula would have been the first-ever NickToon, long before Doug, Rugrats and The Ren & Stimpy Show.
The Muppet Show aired on Nickelodeon on weekday evenings for a 5 month-run from April 5, 1994 until September 30, 1994, but it would continue on Nick Jr. until 1996.
Nickelodeon was the #1 channel for me in childhood because it had reruns of Muppet Babies, The Muppet Show, & Jim Henson's Muppet specials, Golden Age of Animation cartoons (Looney Tunes, etc.), Yogi Bear, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Underdog, Cartoon Kablooey, reruns of The Alvin Show & other older funny animated shows too!
Cartoon Kablooey re-aired on Nickelodeon from 1993-1995, initially airing weekdays at 7:30am, Saturdays at 10:00am (later moved to 2:00pm and at 11:30am), and Sundays at 8:30am. I remember since it was on in the morning on Saturdays, around the same time that Muppet Babies, Doug, Rugrats, and other shows came on also. Those same cartoons were also shown on Nickelodeon's Weinerville during the same time period.
Anyone know or remember Nickelodeon's past schedules? I found All That to The Tomorrow People and The Tomorrow People to U to U!. Both used with Landmarks and MC Schmenge and Afro Nick respectively, and the announcer was Wendell Craig. And he saying, "Coming up, it's All That, followed by The Tomorrow People, only on Nick" and "Coming up on Nickelodeon, it's The Tomorrow People. Followed by U to U". It's posted on August 13, 1995 Nickelodeon commercials.
I remember seeing Looney Tunes to Bullwinkle's Moose-A-Rama V2 with Landmarks and Samurai Swing music growing up from September 1993 to January 1994. Who was the announcer on that version of that bumper? And what was he saying?
Nickelodeon actually reruns of the original Muppet Babies and The Muppet Show along with classic Muppet specials renamed Muppet Matinee and classic Muppet music video all in the 90's.
I rememeber seeing the bumper for Kids' Court to The Littl' Bits with Bouncing Balls and Samurai Swing music growing up in 1993. Who was the announcer on that bumper? And he said, "Next on Nickelodeon, it's Kids' Court, followed by The Littl' Bits."
I remember seeing the bumper for What Would You Do? to Looney Tunes V2 with Bouncing Balls and Samurai Swing music growing up in late 1993/early 1994, and it had a clip from the Looney Tunes short "There Auto Be a Law" (1953). Who was the announcer on that bumper? And what was he saying?
Coincidentally, over a decade after Nickelodeon stopped airing The Adventures of Tintin, Nickelodeon Movies would later co-produce the 2011 motion-capture animated film adaptation of the same name, which would air on Nick on October 13, 2014.
I remember seeing the bumper for Dennis the Menace to Flipper V1 with Sunburst and Gangsta Opera music growing up in 1993. Who was the announcer on that bumper? And what was he saying?
I remember seeing the Special Delivery bumper with menu? and Rubberized Nick music growing up in 1993. Who was the announcer on that bumper? And what was he saying?
Muppet Babies to The Muppet Show with Landmarks & Quasi Salsa, and Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show to The World of David the Gnome with Bouncing Balls & Samurai Swing are found by Matty Brown VHS Archives. It's under 1994 - commercials from Nickelodeon.
On occasion Nickelodeon did run stuff they didn't produce. Multiple Looney Tunes shorts, Tiny Toons, the Nelvana Beetlejuice and The Adventures of Tintin, Muppet Babies, (Aired on Nick Jr.), Dennis the Menace, Lassie, Flipper, Underdog, Heathcliff, Yogi Bear, The Alvin Show, Alvin and the Chipmunks... But only reruns and it was often in the daytime.
Does anybody remember Beyond Belief!!? It was a series about unusual people, places and things, hosted by Jay Potter. It aired on Nickelodeon from the early-mid 1990's (1992-1994).
I seen a schedule for Rugrats + The Alvin Show, The Alvin Show + Muppet Babies, Muppet Babies + The Muppet Show, David the Gnome + Eureeka's Castle, Eureeka's Castle + Special Delivery, Eureeka's Castle + Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics, Special Delivery + Dennis the Menace, and Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics + Dennis the Menace from June 13 to September 2, 1994. What menu and music was used for those bumpers?
Hey!, I found The Tomorrow People to Nickelodeon GUTS bumper! It used Clock the music is Afro Nick (Melodic version), and the announcer was Wendell Craig. And he was saying "Up next, it's The Tomorrow People. Followed by Nickelodeon GUTS."
Nick has then aired The Alvin Show on Nickelodeon on Weinerville and Cartoon Kablooey, as well as the Nick Jr. block following after Rugrats and before Muppet Babies. Along with The Muppet Show, Sharon, Lois & Bram’s Elephant Show, The World of David the Gnome, Eureeka’s Castle, Special Delivery, Nick Jr. Storytime (Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics), Lassie, and the Dennis the Menace B&W TV sitcom. By October, Alvin and Dennis left the Nick Jr. block for the debuts of Gullah Gullah Island and Allegra’s Window.
I remember seeing the Looney Tunes to Special Delivery bumper with Landmarks and De La Nick music growing up in 1993. Who was the announcer on that bumper? And what was he saying?
They actually did come on Nickelodeon back then as well; even though Eureeka's Castle, The Littl' Bits, The World of David the Gnome, Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show, and Nick Jr. Storytime (Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics) mostly came on the Nick Jr. channel and rarely came on the Nickelodeon channel itself (since those five turned out to be more of a Nick Jr. Show than just a show to come on the Nickelodeon Channel itself).
I remember seeing the Are You Afraid of the Dark? to Looney Tunes with Landmarks and Samurai Swing music in 1993. Who was the announcer on that bumper? And what was he saying?
Something to do with Yogi Bear airing on Nickelodeon at the time before Time Warner/Warner Bros. brought the rights to Hanna-Barbera and have their shows (even Yogi Bear) air on Cartoon Network and have Yogi Bear & Boo-Boo Bear appear in Space Jam 2: A New Legacy (great movie!)
Can you really make a big list of all of the Nickelodeon coming up next bumpers collection from 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996 with different menus and different music cues?
Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show + The World of David the Gnome used Bouncing Balls and Samurai Swing (1994). It was found and uploaded on MySpleen of The Muppet Show episodes posted by pufnstuf.
Can you do a List of about all the up next bumpers from May 1993-April 1996, but only many the times when the announcers only say Nickelodeon and Nick respectively (the acronym of Nickelodeon)?
Nickelodeon should revive Cartoon Kablooey one day, and would now included Terrytoons cartoon shorts, alongside with Viacom's classic such as the 60's Paramount both post-1962 Modern Madcaps and Noveltoons and the 50's Columbia Pictures-owned UPA cartoons.
I found Looney Tunes to Beetlejuice with Bouncing Balls and Rubberized Nick, and Beetlejuice to Muppet Babies with Landmarks and De La Nick, and Rocko's Modern Life to Legends of the Hidden Temple with Bouncing Balls and Hip Hop Whistler.
Could someone please confirm for the 1993-1996 up next bumpers for me: What menu and music cue was used for Aaahh!!! The Magic School Bus was on PBS and Fox from this era that aired on Nick Latin America. This guy looking for bumpers from the US one. Foreign Nick channels got a lot of different shows (Nick UK aired "Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?", "TMNT", "Slimer! and The Real Ghostbusters", the 1960’s "Speed Racer", "The New Adventures of Speed Racer", "Batfink", "George of the Jungle", "Kissyfur", "The Monkees", "Denver, the Last Dinosaur", "Mother Goose and Grimm", "Santo Bugito", "Biker Mice From Mars", "Charlie Brown and Friends", "Ultraman", "Galaxy High School", "Sister, Sister", "Capitol Critters", "Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys", "SuperTed", the 1980’s “Alvin and the Chipmunks”, “James the Cat”, “Rub a Dub Dub”, “Second Hand Tales”, “Katie and Orbie”, “Roobarb and Custard”, “Bill the Minder”, “Pondles”, “Charlotte, Fleo, Benjamin”, “The World of David the Gnome”, “The Muppet Show”, “Muppet Babies”, “Super Chicken”, “Philbert the Frog”, “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse”, “Smoogies”, “Max Glick”, “Visionaries”, “Capitol Critters”, “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes”, “Garbage Pail Kids”, “Land of the Lost”, “Mr. Magoo”, “Care Bears”, “Inspector Gadget”, “The Adventures of Portland Bill”, “Albert the Fifth Musketeer”, “The Animals of Farthing Wood”, “Babar”, “Astro Farm”, “Bruno the Kid”, “Moesha”, “Budgie the Little Helicopter”, Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, Ship to Shore, and "Fraggle Rock".)
Does anybody know or remember what was used for The Alvin Show to Muppet Babies, Muppet Babies to The Muppet Show, The World of David the Gnome to Eureeka's Castle, Eureeka's Castle to Special Delivery, and Special Delivery to Dennis the Menace (They were aired during the weird transition peroid at one point, where Nick Jr. wasn't on the channel, and the Nick Jr. shows were given regular Nick bumpers. This happened in the Summer to Early Fall 1994 (during this 1993-1996 era), it was due to the failure of the short-lived 1993-1994 era of Nick Jr.)?
The World of David the Gnome used Landmarks with De La Nick, and it was found on Nickelodeon VHS Recording from December of 1993 on the Internet Archive.
I Really miss The Muppets, Looney Tunes, Yogi Bear-related stuff, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Underdog, Gumby, the 60's The Alvin Show, Alvin & the Chipmunks, Beetlejuice, Tintin, 60's Paramount and UPA toons (aired as part of Cartoon Kablooey and Weinerville), Batfink and Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse era of Nickelodeon, and the Sesame Street era of Noggin!
Does anyone have the bumper collection that ILurvClassicNick posted/uploaded here in 2006 downloaded before it got taken down? If so, reupload it on here!
Feels so weird knowing at one point, Yogi Bear, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Underdog, the classic Paramount and UPA cartoons from Cartoon Kablooey, the 60's The Alvin Show, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Beetlejuice, Bugs Bunny and the Road Runner were part of Nickelodeon in the 90's.

Hey, here's what I think they should've done for Legends of the Hidden Temple to Looney Tunes, show any clip from the former, then for Looney Tunes, use a clip from "Wild and Woolly Hare" (1959), when Yosemite Sam attempts to cheat at gentlemen's duel by walking with Bugs following him, and then when he shoots, he misses and Bugs kisses him on the nose.

I miss the 90's so much.
Me too
I WASN'T EVEN BORN IN THE 90'S...! 😥
Dennis the Menace was a Nickelodeon staple in the 80's to the mid 90's.
Good to see that there is a cartoon kablooey up next bumper found
Earlier this month, about 20 years ago, marks the anniversary that Nickelodeon introduced its new rebranded graphics, menus and bumpers on May 8, 1993. The 1984 style of promo close was still in good use, but the new 1993-rebrand had been introduced.
Flipper was a Nickelodeon staple in the 90s.
Dennis the Menace was a Nickelodeon staple in the 80s and 90s.

The Alvin Show from 1994, it was used on Landmarks and Quasi Salsa, and was narrated by Wendell Craig.
What years all of this take place? The bumpers? They were from May 11, 1993 to May 1996?
Nickelodeon actually reruns of the original Muppet Babies and The Muppet Show along with classic Muppet specials renamed Muppet Matinee and classic Muppet music video all in the 90's.
Wild seeing looney tunes on nick.
I liked all the old Nickelodeon up next bumpers and schedule spots.
1:24 Liked the opera singer.
The Paramount and UPA Toons era (aired as part of Cartoon Kablooey and Weinerville) of Nickelodeon need to come back one day.
I seen that too.
I remembered there used to be a video on Dailymotion that had the Sun Template and Gangsta Opera music was used for Dennis the Menace to Flipper.
I remember and know watching Gumby on Nickelodeon, they even made Gumby toys!
Have there more up new up next bumpers been found lately?

Nickelodeon should revive Cartoon Kablooey one day, and would now included Terrytoons cartoon shorts, alongside with Viacom's classic such as the 60's Paramount both post-1962 Modern Madcaps and Noveltoons and the 50's Columbia Pictures-owned UPA cartoons.

How many Nickelodeon shows used Bouncing Balls, Clock, Landmarks and Sun Template for real?
Grandma's VCR Tapes uploaded Hey Dude to Looney Tunes with Bouncing Balls and MC Schmenge, and Looney Tunes to What Would You Do? with Landmarks and Tokio Koto Nick
Does anyone remember what was used for:
The Alvin Show to Muppet Babies
Muppet Babies to The Muppet Show
The World of David the Gnome to Eureeka's Castle
Eureeka's Castle to Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics
Eureeka's Castle to Special Delivery
Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics to Dennis the Menace
Special Delivery to Dennis the Menace
They were used on Weekday Mornings and early Afternoons, where Nick Jr. was not on the channel and the Nick Jr. shows were given regular Nickelodeon bumpers for 3 months from June 13 to September 2, 1994.
