I can not taste alcohol in the Voodoo Ranger Fruit Force. And at 9.5 ABV, it hits the WOW factor. And I would say after 3 or of these fruity beers, one would find themselves on an island unto themselves. Lol
The one I was referring to was New Belgium Vodoo Ranger IPA. Website newbelgium description “Bursting with tropical aromas and juicy fruit flavors from Mosaic and Amarillo hops, this golden IPA is perfectly bitter with a refreshing, sublime finish”. It may be related to or rebranded from the hazy IPA you reviewed
New Belgium and Bells are now owned by the same parent company (Lion), hence Comstock, MI (outside of Kalamzoo) is now a producer of New Belgium beer. I imagine Two Hearted etc are also being produced in Ft Collins/Asheville as well. And Fruit Force is the worst beer I've had in 2023...by a lot.
I can see the kool-aid, it gave me tropical punch juicy juice vibes. The taste was horrible and I was glad I only had a 12 oz can of it to finish off. Definitely has underage college kid vibes.
Gotta be using tons of adjuncts to get that smell and then having it taste bad. Just had something similar with a prairie fruited sour. Had like a weird off flavor
Fruited sours can be a crap shoot since they’re live in the bottle ya know? Was yours cherry by chance? I’ve gotten some funky notes in cherry sours. When they’re right though, they’re amazing 🤙🏼
It’s one of the smoothie ones and had like 6 different fruits. Probably made it all disjointed and the base beer wasn’t good. These beers are brewed with so much shit in them to cover up all the flaws imo
