  • A Harry's garage video special on what makes a 1987 Lamborghini Countach Quattrovalve special. Also includes a history on the Countach and driving impressions gained after four years and 18,000km of ownership. Video brought to you in association with www.footmanjames.co.uk
Since filming this video, I've been sent new info regarding the total number of fuel-injected Countach QV built, which I've quoted below. Turns out the mix is not 50:50 FI/carb I quoted in the video after all. My thanks to Joe Sackey for sending me the following information.
"Out of the 610 QVs built between 1985 and 1988, approximately 220 were FI cars, with 80% of those coming to the USA. Of the 657 25th Anniversarios built between 1988 and 1990, we know about 200 were FI cars, with 187 of those coming to the USA".

Guy Fawkes You Just Love being a Troll. Good for You, Yay!! Doesn't matter what you used to do for a living. You only live once, take a chill pill, since your comments make you sound immature. It's a cool car, regardless, a classic, period. It's a raw machine that growls. All cars go through changes and evolve. Plus, you can't form sentences very well or type well either, if you want to get technical about things.
I did type MT900 in UA-cam? All sorts of videos by many different people came up in my search. Please be more specific to be able to share your attempts at validity. I believe you. But, I'm an Illustrator and I don't go on other artists videos and say their artwork sucks? It's childish and rude.
I'm sure you'd probably say my classic beast is shit too. Because hey, why not, that's what Trolls do on videos about cool things posted by nice people who enjoy their possessions, are passionate and love what they do. I Love my car and I think it Rocks, well, because it Damn Well Does! Live and enjoy life, leave people alone, keep your rude lame comments to yourself. Especially if it's a vehicle that you keep in your garage in a collection and take it every once in awhile, doesn't really matter.
Cool car Harry, love the videos!! Cheers!

When you hear one, in person, for the first time, it changes you. You crave to hear it more and more. It doesn't just stir your soul, it takes it out, shakes it up, slaps it around, has a go at the naughty parts, then leaves you a broken mess of sweat, snot, and slobber. I have known women who had the same effect on me, but none who spoke Italian.

I like the way Mr. Harry has presented this documentary. With small simple details and of-course personal touches here and there has kept this presentation interesting. He has managed to give all the details that are generally beyond the usual: Top speed, BHP, Torque, 0-62 MPH so on and so forth. Another interesting fact is that he showed how does the boot and the bonnet open's up (the latch/lock). Also the fact that the frontal cosmetic air vents are a problem during monsoon. The care required to wash car that might end up wetting the computer unit.
Thank you for the documentary on one of the most popular pin up cars. I had this on my wall in deep Purple colour. I still feel she is one of the most futuristic looking cars for years to come.

The Countach was and still is the "Dream Car" par excellence . Few lucky ones have the pleasure to own and drive one.
While I was enjoying this video a sentimental yearning of that happiness was overwhelming me, I remember back in those young years in Zurich, a friend owned a Lamborghini Countach in a special VenenumGreen colour with race exaust, every week the Police stopped him for a fine (he got used to it)... when we drove in summer, we left the doors open when starting, waited 1/4 of an hour to warm the engine up and then while accelerating til 120 the doors closed due to airpressure :), the needle went from approx. 8000rpm to 6000rpm in every gear change.
After so many years, I can still feel, live the tremendous sound, the cribbling in the veins, the excitement.
    Excellent video Mr. Gentleman.

You are quite right Harry, the 5000 QV is by far the most desirable, and most gorgeous Countach of all - with the exception of the unobtainable periscope models on fat tyres, of course! I once said to my dad, when I was about 18, that one day I would own a Lamborghini Countach. The other day, he reminded me of that statement over 30 years ago, and asked me why I now had 4 Porsches!
And, the answer is, that I have more fun in my Porsches than I ever could in a Countach - but deep inside me, I still yearn for one. Happily though, I am content for that to remain an unfulfilled desire.

I would think these small windows on the sides might have been designed with a thought to give more light to the interior as well as for the aesthetics purposes.

Pretty much captures the essence of this car better than anything I've ever seen or read...and I've seen and read a lot about the Countach. That front view going down the street, the sounds, the description of the effort needed to drive it...WOW!

Iconic car , immortlised in the film ‘The Cannonball Run’ with the Rat Pack. Thankyou for this real World’ indepth review. Even with all its faults The Countach will always have a soft spot for every Babyboomer. Superb video , full of facts , knowledge and enthusiasm.Whilst most of us switch to modern easy drivers, Harry flies the flag for all supercar petrol heads.

Hi Harry - discovered your Garage videos last year - all very well done and interesting; this one on the Countach included. Just wondered if you could maybe have a remote mic so we can hear your commentary during the (gloriously) noisier bits.

He just said the 1987 Lamorghini Countach has a 120 liter gas tank.... holy crap. The internet tells me that's over 30 gallons of fuel in a car smaller than a boxster?

I recall reading once that the fuel economy (hahaha) on this car is about 6 miles to the gallon, in the city I'm sure.
Not that such things matter on a car like this.

Cracking video Harry, the noise is addictive. So refreshing to hear someone who actually owns one saying what a great car it is, to many journalists hate on the Countach when they drive it, but is all about theatre and it delivers in spades. Lovely.
