    Ok haha, a ton of you guys commented/messaged me letting me know what I did wrong with the thread winder. Apparantely there is a special slit for the bobbin which I didn't notice (oops!). It's great to know though and I'll definitely do that next time I need to wind some thread. Thanks to everyone who let me know!

    Those color gradients are beautiful! To use the bobbin winder, put the bobbin in the slit and then put the pin through the whole thing. To stop it from wobbling, attach to to an intersection rather than along one of the dividing pieces. That’s why there’s 4 slits on the bottom!

    My collection is an organized mess. I'm using a photo box from Micheal's and have them in smaller boxes in one big case where the smaller boxes are by color. However, I did not wind the threads onto anything, I just have them all shoved in little boxes still how they were originally wrapped. They will be staying an organized mess for the forseeable future since I can fit them all in one box for now.

    hi! i recently organized my bobbins and I found the most efficient way to wind them is by using a drill, I open the part where the drill bit would go off where you would usually stick the drill bit into and I stuck the bobbin in there. the drill kinda ruined the top of the bobbin because I put it in a big too tight but it works like a charm.

    I remember, back in the day, I cut thousands of little bobins out of cardboard boxes so they wouldn't go to waste. It took such a long time! I also had a box like the one you have, and I made 1-2 bobins of each color I had, cause I had so many skeins of each color. The leftovers are to this day unbelievable. I haven't touched that in years and just got back to it early this morning with a sudden urge to make friendship bracelets. I'm this close to buying one of each available color of DMC pearl cotton :O. I shouldn't though, I should work with the massive amount of thread I have before XD.

    The bobbin goes in the slot first, then the pin goes in. The winder is designed to go over a corner of the compartments not on a straight bit.

  • @rving642

    Hi. I know this is old but I wanted to let you know you can actually use a power drill to wind bobbins. It’s super fast. You put the plastic bobbin into the spot where you would normally insert a drill bit and then just power it. It’s a few seconds per bobbin and no sore hand and arm from winding. :)

    Hey u prob wont see this but to things with the winder. 1.) the reason it is wiggly is because the "t" shape at the bottom of it is supposed to go on the side of the box and make it more secure. 2.) instead of putting the pin in the bobbin then putting the bobbing on the winder u r supposed to put the bobbin on the put the pink in both the holes. I hope this helps and if u don't understand just look up the winder on UA-cam and there are plenty of tutorials to follow. :)

    Also I use cardboard bobbins. The slots in it hold the thread better so it doesn't accidentally unwind, they're cheap and better for the environment. A small plastic bobbin can easily end up in the sea

    Great video. Congrats on getting all those threads sorted! Quite an accomplishment. Unfortunately I just stumbled upon your channel today and someone else has probably helped you with the bobbin winder but if not, you needed to sandwich the bobbin through the slot in the winder and then use the plug to go through both sides of the winder with the bobbin inside. ❤

Anyway, I'll get to my question, LOLO, as you can probably tell, I'm a novice.... so, is the twisted thread that you are calling craft cord, the core of like a lot of the bracelets.

    You should make markers to put in the boxes between the thread bobbins like in a library that way you know where the book came from so you can put it back when ur done so that way the gradient doesn’t get messed up from taking them out and putting them back, u should use like a colored piece of cardboard or something to sit between the bobbins

    I "stole" my boyfriends new work laptops box for this. It's a predator box really pretty and I made deviders on the inside using cardboard and black card stock and now I have a very pretty and helpful storage box for my embroidery floss 😊 but I only have 192 colors, if I had more it wouldn't hold them all because this box was just enough for these 192...I made paper bobbins out of cereal boxes and that's it 😂 cheap helpful diy

    What I think you’re supposed to do is put the bobbin in the slit of the winder and then put the pin through it, at least that’s how I do it

  • @dawsie
    @dawsie 4 роки тому

    The bobbing goes between the two plastic slots and then the plug goes in the bobbing does not go on the side of the bobbing winder I have mine since it came out over 40 years ago and I’m still using mine with no issue of needing blue tac to hold the plug in the hole.
