      Speak to your local MB specialist - it's actually not that bad, drain the fluid, replace the filter, refill and rodeo test.

      Difficult to know but if you have no record of it being done, I think it’s worth doing for your own peace of mind.

    Hey, I have a 2004 CL500, My Car is currently in the high ride height and it won’t lower, The thing is, I don’t have any warning lights or signs or anything, However my buttons to turn off or raise /lower the height don’t do anything. At all. They just glow. Idk what to do. Need help please.

      Take it to an independent specialist who has the diagnostic tools - that will tell you immediately what's going on.

    Mine sags also overnight but was told I have a leak however no fluids in my garage. Maybe I should change fluid before we go forward with strut replacement

    • @mguytv
      @mguytv  3 роки тому +2

      I think they mean a leak in the valve block, letting out the pressure in the strut (not an external leak). Yes always good to change the ABC fluid and filter regularly!

    Great videos Simon, what sort of cost to service and fix the ABC suspension?

    • @mguytv
      @mguytv  7 років тому +1

      The story is getting a bit worse - have already spent AU$800 on a filter and fluid replacement, which didn't fix the issue, and it looks like I will have to spend another AU$1700 on reconditioning the front and rear valve blocks... 😢 That will happen next month, and I will post a video in due course.

      Maserati Guy my abc system gave in so i put in a new tandem pump that did nothing so i bougt a used abc controller or computer if you will and that did the trick my car acted like yours but it can be the valve blocks you can get them on ebay alot cheaper than 1700 bucks;)

    I am still looking for the right one...! Great video, replacing the hydraulic fluid ever 60k kilometers seems drastic. What’s your thoughts MGuy?

    • @mguytv
      @mguytv  5 років тому

      Yeah, probably a bit extreme but for the cost it's a worthwhile preventative measure.

      You must also change the ABC reservoir filter as well.

    • @rcdrum29
      @rcdrum29 Рік тому +1

      Hello, Sorry to contredict, but it is not drastic. Actually MB préconisation is every 2 years. It is a closed system where the sphere membranes keep deteriorating whatever you do releasing rubber particles that end blocking the system.
      By the way, these spheres are due to replacement every 10 years, if the filter on this car was original, how old are the spheres? I would say "thanks" to the previous owner 😬.
      I will buy one of these cars, but whatever is told to me, I will:
      1. Completely flush and replace the oil
      2. Replace the 4 spheres,
      3. Disassemble the 2 hydraulic blocs, replace all O-rings.
      4. Install new filter and replace oil and filter after 3000 miles.
      You may consider me "drastic", but as a retired mechanic, being stranded on the side of the road is not an option.
      Enjoy your car, it is a jewel if properly maintained.
      Take care and thank you for posting. 🙏🏼👍

    Unfortunately i picked up the ( i guess) only build S 500 without ventilated seats.
    The Nappa Leather is like Latex in hot summer days, because it has no perforation. much more worse than the leather in my 1988 420SE W126

    What about right rear code travel dampner sensor failure it makes the strut raise on that corner until shuting off the car then it goes away and comes back random drive the car one day it goes up ten times drive the car 4 days never does it then it does it again. Been like this for a year very annoying. Mechanic said replace the strut.

    It may be best to sit inside the car and wear your cowboy hat during the "rodeo" test, for the most accurate diagnosis.
