Hey, I have a 2004 CL500, My Car is currently in the high ride height and it won’t lower, The thing is, I don’t have any warning lights or signs or anything, However my buttons to turn off or raise /lower the height don’t do anything. At all. They just glow. Idk what to do. Need help please.
Mine sags also overnight but was told I have a leak however no fluids in my garage. Maybe I should change fluid before we go forward with strut replacement
I think they mean a leak in the valve block, letting out the pressure in the strut (not an external leak). Yes always good to change the ABC fluid and filter regularly!
My abc pump on my 2005 cl 500 just went I purchased a new one 10 l of pentosin and filters to flush it and then install second unit of fluid can you tell me how many years your abc lasted after repair
I have a 2003 CL500 it's starting to go up and down on its own now and I keep hearing a clicking noise the passenger side strut any advice it goes I've been there when I'm driving to
The story is getting a bit worse - have already spent AU$800 on a filter and fluid replacement, which didn't fix the issue, and it looks like I will have to spend another AU$1700 on reconditioning the front and rear valve blocks... 😢 That will happen next month, and I will post a video in due course.
Maserati Guy my abc system gave in so i put in a new tandem pump that did nothing so i bougt a used abc controller or computer if you will and that did the trick my car acted like yours but it can be the valve blocks you can get them on ebay alot cheaper than 1700 bucks;)
Hello, Sorry to contredict, but it is not drastic. Actually MB préconisation is every 2 years. It is a closed system where the sphere membranes keep deteriorating whatever you do releasing rubber particles that end blocking the system. By the way, these spheres are due to replacement every 10 years, if the filter on this car was original, how old are the spheres? I would say "thanks" to the previous owner 😬. I will buy one of these cars, but whatever is told to me, I will: 1. Completely flush and replace the oil 2. Replace the 4 spheres, 3. Disassemble the 2 hydraulic blocs, replace all O-rings. 4. Install new filter and replace oil and filter after 3000 miles. You may consider me "drastic", but as a retired mechanic, being stranded on the side of the road is not an option. Enjoy your car, it is a jewel if properly maintained. Take care and thank you for posting. 🙏🏼👍
Unfortunately i picked up the ( i guess) only build S 500 without ventilated seats. The Nappa Leather is like Latex in hot summer days, because it has no perforation. much more worse than the leather in my 1988 420SE W126
What about right rear code travel dampner sensor failure it makes the strut raise on that corner until shuting off the car then it goes away and comes back random drive the car one day it goes up ten times drive the car 4 days never does it then it does it again. Been like this for a year very annoying. Mechanic said replace the strut.
I have the same car 2001 CL500 and it’s indeed a boat... love it❤️
Thank You for the ABC info. I'm in research mode for one of these CL500's.
What a gem of a car!!👍 looks even more gorgeous with those rims too!👌
Thank you for the video mate! I have to perform that service on mine.
Doing my ABC service on my CL600 this week. Fingers crossed 🤞.
Brilliant site . Great info on CL500 ABC will be in touch about mine but having trouble knowing where you are in Sydney.
All good - hope Bruce can help you out - he's the guy in this video!
Great video. Looking at buying one of these. What sort of $$ to do the ABC service and flush ? Thanks
Speak to your local MB specialist - it's actually not that bad, drain the fluid, replace the filter, refill and rodeo test.
Just found your channel. Nice cars friend :)
Nice! subscribed.
Great video….What’s the fluid type?
Pentosin CHF 11S
@@mguytv Thank you!! 👍🏻
Nice video!
hey i have 2002 cl500 has 105k on the clock, how do I know when its time to service abc?
Difficult to know but if you have no record of it being done, I think it’s worth doing for your own peace of mind.

Take it to an independent specialist who has the diagnostic tools - that will tell you immediately what's going on.

Go for it - check the ABC has been kept in good condition. They are pretty cheap too! Thanks for watching!
What diagnosis do you use?
Cheap copy system from China...
Great videos Simon, what sort of cost to service and fix the ABC suspension?

@@mguytv you are being overcharged. I speak as a professional MB tech
I am still looking for the right one...! Great video, replacing the hydraulic fluid ever 60k kilometers seems drastic. What’s your thoughts MGuy?
Yeah, probably a bit extreme but for the cost it's a worthwhile preventative measure.
You must also change the ABC reservoir filter as well.

It may be best to sit inside the car and wear your cowboy hat during the "rodeo" test, for the most accurate diagnosis.
