I've spent many years learning and honing my skills from UA-cam education videos and I have to say you do the best job of actually getting under the covers of how the technology works. You not only do that but also explain things in layman terms initially so the concepts are easily grasped. This is key in actually understanding and retaining technologies and concepts. If you also instruct classes and or do seminars please let me know as I would most definitely attend. One more thing, if you could please do a series on PowerCLI for those of us wanting to learn how to script and automate tasks in vSphere that would be incredible. Thanks again!!
Deploying the replication appliance (9.2.0) works a little differently than what you portrayed. While the OVF is deploying, the point to enter the IP address works as explained but once the install is done the VM is assigned a dhcp address. The template seems to drop that part of the configuration when deploying. You’ll have to locate the VM in VCSA to get the IP, and then change it in the VAMI to conform to planned IP layout. If no dhcp is available you’ll have to root into the VM console and use the console shell to change IP config. In v8.5 and up vami commands are deprecated so you have to use netmgr commands. Really looking forward to the mgmt/replication traffic spliting video.
I think you may be referring to when I mention creating a VMkernel port an assign it the "Provisioning IP Stack" so the replication traffic does not default to the Management Network.. Doprt of like creating a vMotion network but this one is for Replication traffic. Have a good one/
