i just had my second last mocks of year 12. I only know 2 of my grades so far but I got an A in Maths and a B in Computing!!! (this is from a 6 in maths and CS)
What would your main tip be from getting a 6 and then coming in a level maths, what did you do which helped you to do this good?.. (plus well done, an A is amazing)
1.) Dont listen to your teachers, mine told me not to do a-Level maths and that my type "only get D's and E's" 2.) Catch up on every GCSE topic you didn't understand which is core to A level (e.g completing the square) 3.) Spend about 1 hour a day studying just maths and watch GCSE maths tutors "A- level pure topic videos" they are really good I wish you the best of luck@@ayesha1041!
I wish u all the best for A Levels, youre going to do amazing in them. I found my mocks stressful (my mocks were in January) but im hoping and wanting to work hard and smart for A levels. I finish learning the content by Easter but hopefully i get to go through it quickly so that i can spend more time with revision for A levels
I sat my physics a level december mock while I had a cold, and similar to what you said in 1:40. I was not expecting to be thrown some hard questions that required some intuition. Some big questions I didnt not get to answer them properly because I had a headache halfway through the exam due to my cold so my concentration was pretty much hammered. I was close to getting an A*, but I ended up getting close to an A. Since the grade boundaries of last years physics papers were quite low. The problem was that my revision strategy just didn't seem to work for those kinds of questions being thrown in that mock. Having said that. I hope this is isn't a wafflely cliche paragraph, but heres my advice after learning it the hard way. 1. Prepare for the worst case scenario. Look at the specification and look at what or what not has not come up in exams in at least in a while. Make sure you know it inside out no BS. 2. Prepare to get stuck under exam pressure. Especially when it comes to say maths for example. And find ways to recover from it. Some people say practice but I'd say practice smarter. 3. Never be overconfident or underconfident. My further maths teacher had two girls in his fm class last year (when they were sitting 2023 papers) who were bright and initially got A*s in both maths and fm. And then in the real exams they got a bit lower than expected due to them being slightly arrogant and cocky. 4. When there's a hard paper, sometimes you just gotta take it on the chin. 5. Given exams are gonna be harder. Similar to what I said in 1.), I think it would be a lot more useful with look at examiners report on every past paper that most students get wrong and stuff. And if it's a topic that hasnt come up in a while and people struggle with it, the chances of it coming up in real thing is higher. 6. Do some questions blindly and take your time with some questions. Make sure you revisit them later if you even got it wrong or you got to know how to work it out. As simple as it sounds, the worst case scenario is that you did that question before and then when you walk into the real thing you forgot how to do that similar question you did before because you didnt go over it. 7. And lastly. Make sure you relax and a lot more chill. Pressure will always even the best of us, so in the time being find something that would make you a lot more calmer and relaxed. These points above do apply to gcse. I wish you best of luck with your exams and others too.
@@NoumanSami I literally had maths today and it didn’t go that well for me. But the difference was that a lot of people found it hard from what u said ij the vid. It was a 50/50 on my end. Some found it good and some found it bad. Well, let’s hope we both smash the final exams man
Watched you when we were in year 11 (by the 9 week revision plan video). It is insane how time goes so fast and we are both now going to do our A-levels together. Good luck!
Thank you for sharing this journey, been following you since GCSEs so its nice to see someone else in the same position as me who is also a content creator
I'm in Y12 and I'm stressed with do many things going on. I want to apply to Cambridge and my grades are crap. My end of years are in 7 weeks. I also have F1 in Schools to juggle as well as I'm applying for Head Boy.
This time is tough man, but you'll get through it, just work hard and try your best to enjoy the process and before you know it you'll achieve more than you could've imagined. Also it's fine if things don't work out, many times that's how it's meant to work out. Best of luck with your journey though and I'll be here with you every step of the way ❤
Sad that it didnt go well, a levels must be tough then 😳 I got an ICT thoery mock tmrw and I haven’t prepared lmao so 🙂 Can’t wait for the revision plan!!!!
I got A* A* C in my mocks. I got the C in chemistry which i was initally upset about but I'm determined to improve my grade and work on my weak areas. Also the paper was wayyy harder than the usual A level ones edit: It turns out that I actually got a B in chemistry my paper was just marked incorrectly
I got A*BC, need ABB for my firm choice (software engineering). The thing is in one of my subjects paper 1 was an A* and paper 2 was an E :( I think i got marked so damn harshly I knew the content front to back.
@@ygvrgh7280 remember that if you find a paper hard that most other people would too. Makes the grade boundaries nicer. Plus these are just mocks dw just do your best :)
@@omarmohammd5276 well only got one paper back so far but got a C in one of my physics papers but all my classmates didn’t do how they expected or hoped either so made me feel better.
Erm well I guess that’s what you’d expect, tbh for just 1 and a half days that’s solid, but don’t do that for the real thing I beg you 😭😭 or if you wanna lower the boundaries up to you ig
yo is it okay if im still learning content for GCSEs right now. (in year 11 rn) also i think i might have to continue learning content during gcse exams bc i probably wont finish it all before 😭
Tbh I disagree with the GCSEs being harder to revise for than A levels. Most GCSEs (theory and question wise) are extremely easy to revise the night before and ace, as the content is basic and intuitive. With A level, there is so much synoptic links that there is no way you could do the same thing in one night. Even with 13 GCSEs vs 4 a-levels, the GCSEs will always be way easier.
In terms of raw difficulty I guess so, but the process of revision for a-levels has been much more enjoyable somehow despite the craziness it has been, and I'd take it over GCSE any day

Aw np
Honestly same my maths mock was terrible😭 I feel like the jump from y12 and y13 maths is massive
Honestly!! Y12 felt like extended gcse maths, but y13 is just all random and new
i got an a* in maths last year (y13 now), what do u struggle with the most? i can give u some tips if u want@@NoumanSami

what are you going to use for revising chemistry? i suggest alllery chemistry and chemrevise. btw congrats on the 2 A*
@tawheedhussain thank you! And yes I use both of those resources. I think I mostly need to practice calculations and practical questions
it's always chem :(( but congrats on your A*s!

Ah that’s so harsh what, I think you could appeal maybe if there’s a way to do that I’m not sure
hopefully it'd be fine, im gonna carry on working and prove my teacher wrong!!
Hi can you add that A2 maths double angle formulae question that you said was really difficult in your description for me to have a go at it please
I left myself a week to revise as well 🤣 won't be doing that again (probably will still happen though ): )
whatd you get on your mocks if u dont mind sharing?😭😭 my mocks are in a week

Hey bro been a follower for some time now was just wondering where I could find some good anki decks for A level maths biology and chemistry?
Icl I’m not the person to ask for anki decks 😭😭
@@NoumanSami what do you use for flashcards then?
hi I got a level maths year 12 mocks soon I do edexcel what should I do revise thanks
Start with mixed exercise questions for every topic, then move straight to AS papers that’s it
What’s worse, mechanics or statistics?
stats is annoying but easier
Yess, I’d say mechanics is harder to do well in but stats is more difficult to learn
Depends. People doing physics will find mechanics to be a piece of cake. I feel like if you don't, statistics is probably easier.
What results did u get for these mocks?
Idk still waiting
Can’t lie Yh a-levels are bare stressful even in year 12 imagine year 13 💀
y13 is a lot im just telling you now
Maths gcse is darn headache 😢

My mocks went alright, always nice to see anther perspective. Nice vid. Also what exam boards do you do?
Bio and Chem - AQA , Maths - Edexcel

Maybe

What are you gonna do in uni?
Medicine
3 months till exam easily cook able
Yes exactly
